    About This Episode:
Today, I'm heading down to Saigon's illegal floating market. These people seem nice enough, but what are they really selling there. I use my training as a fake investigative youtube journalist to get to the bottom of why these people are operating illegally and what can be done about it.
    About Sonny Side:
I’m not sponsored. I’m not rich. I’m just some guy who wanted to make the type of travel videos that I would want to see. This show is completely self-funded so thanks for patiently watching that five second advertisement (and read below how you can support this channel).
I am a video director by trade. Each time I travel to a new country I bring a cameraman with me, usually a friend, to shoot as many episodes as possible in a short amount of time (usually a week). The rest of the time I’m working as a video director/videographer in Vietnam and editing the crap out of these videos.
Much love and remember, Don't Think, Just Chew.

Damn, dude. That was powerful. Thanks for the work you do and the message you're sending. Makes a guy kinda want to start believing in humanity again.

What started out as a rabbit hole down the UA-cam food channels for research purposes I came along this gem. Thanks so much for creating and sharing the vlog. I thought it was so endearing that you tapped into the Vietnam culture and made the effort to understand the hardships. Big inspo! I have a planned trip to se Asia and will make sure to spend more time in Vietnam for these reasons. Cam on

@@wolfcub824 That’s an awful reply. Street food is dirt cheap to begin with, so don’t bargain unless you’re purchasing an enormous amount of food. This is the reason why people in Vietnam try to live abroad. The government do nothing. Life is harder. But citizen don't know the worst place in which they are living.
But you know the situation in this country.

Oh, they don't need licenses to sell fruits. The reason you called it illegal is because the Gov don't want you to gather in order to mess up the streets. And because that channel is quite stinky. If you notice, it's poor on one side and rich on the opposite. They also sell flowers occasionally, especially on TET Holidays.

You are hilarious! I love your video.
I don't think "illegal" is the right term for this. It is kind of a culture. There are a group of people mainly live in their boats and sell their items. They don't have an authorization to sell items because of the tax reason. Besides, they occupy the sidewalk for business without permission. I think this is the government problem. It doesn't want people use the sidewalk without permission or it can't tax boat people since they don't have a specific location (House). The government just puts more restrictions on boat people, but it didn't come up with any solution.

+Dylan N Sure , and where the fuck are you and your "vietnamese" friends now to resuse this country ? Really , young peoples like you are so easy to control , i love the way you believe everything google and some fuck says .
The goverment is not good , i agree , but all those year , i didn't see any terrorist bring up some tnt and blow up everything on sight . If you don't do anything wrong , the police will not harm you . I don't know where the fuck you guys read those news about how bad VietNam is now , but i don't see any bad things happen around me that make me so upset about this country and the goverment all those years .

It's heartbreaking yet so touching to see the heart and love they have, those people that continue to come back and support those selling the fruit because they know how hard it it for them to live. Your words were perfect❤️
