Really brings back memories. The MF band got even faster with its tempo on "Left Bank Express" as time went by. Oh, and it was even worse for "Give It One." Increasing the tempo that much seems like an act of disrespect for the tune. I saw a concert in Willmar MN where the band was really getting carried away - fast, too loud (with distortion) and somewhat undisciplined. Pete Jackson the keyboardist finally broke down and gave critical comments to "Downbeat" Magazine, whereupon he was no longer with the band. Jackson was totally right. But regardless, MF's young fans ate up the sound of the band at that time. I breathed a sigh of relief later when the band floated back down to earth. "It was a phase."
