I'm a retired engineer interested in creating not for profit sci-fi webisodes to support the release of an e-book. I'd also like to create photo-realistic stills for the cover of the e-book, as well as stills of key scenes in the book to use as the front page of each chapter within it. I'm currently a Blender user, and I really do love Blender, but every single time I see clips of pretty much anything at all made in UE I'm stunned by how realistic the results look. It just seems to beat the look of everything out there.

In reality , it's closer to 50 to 120, depending on added assets, and map sizes. I have over 750 G, spanning across two drives. Dealing with streamed 4-8K texture files, eats up a lot of disk space.

I need help. I tried downloading Unreal Engine 5.11 on my Windows 10. I put the pathway to my SD Card and when it was downloading to 25%. It just stops and the GB on the downloading tab kept adding to 14GB - 56GB (it says "Install Failed: Error Code: IS-FC02-1392). I tried creating new files, cleaning my SD card, and doing a Memory check but neither worked. Can someone help me with this issue because I really want to make games but this is a problem that I'm too confuse to figure out. So do anyone have a solution and make me finally download UE 5.11
The Way Unreal loads, is awkward, and will eat your H.D in minutes, and happens fast. THE main core , of the system resides on your C: drive, as th base of the engine connects to put part of the system. "THE SWARM " is the basic compiler, and links to CACHE FILES, that link to the main engine. When ever you load a pack, the file links to the working drive. AND, when things go bad. You need to keep your data files off your C: drive, or you will fill it up. The error message is warning you, you have insuffienct space on your working drive. THE project folder needs to point to a larger drive 3 TB. minimum . THE more, the better. /

It is recommended that you free some space to avoid issues such as crashed and data loss due to files not being able to be written and saved.

This is where your cache files are stored. You can delete them , and that will open up the disk space, and should allow you to at least install the launcher.
Once you have installer in place , and you go to INSTALL the Engine, and this will take hours Once finished, . Create your project, " Set your working, and cache files , to a folder , on your bigger drive. Once you start adding assets, and project files, the backup drive will fill up fast. I recommend a J_BOX, with a 4-drive bay, and connected to a USB 3.0 port. 4 extra drives, will solve your storage problem. I hope, that helps. Also skip V.511, and go right to 5.22. It's the final and stable version. Happy building. Download PIXAL bridge from the Market Place, and that will speed up the getting assets, process. FOR amazing water effects. GRAB Fluid Flux. Good luck.

when i try to install it says the path way has to to be lower than 250 character but it is only 6 characters
Are you putting it in a folder, in a folder thats in another folder? That all adds to the path length

@@DestinationDoodle Hi, no it's not working. I have installed 4.26.2, 5.0.3 and 5.2.1. The Plus is yellow. When I click it the version 5.3.2 appears with gray background. BUT after clicking the Plus there are no other options and the Plus is gray.

I'm just hypnotized by the world of AI art and Unreal Engine is playing a major role in all its capabilities. Everyday I'm discovering something new and enjoying every minute of it. I have over 6 decades on this planet, but I've never seen technology advance at the pace that it's doing now. A lot of people are upset with AI and are crying foul, but I say love it, embrace it and adapt to it. Learn to use AI to your advantage or become a relic from the past. Technology waits for no one and I'm so glad that Unreal Engine is leading the way.

May 12, 2023Once installed, Unreal Engine 5 will take up anywhere from 50GB to 120GB but you will need more free space to save your projects. For a smaller game you might fit into 10-50GB, depending on the project , and assets. Plan ahead. I have over 300 GB, via multiple projects.

why you didn't show what need to be installed from C++/frameworks/SDK and etc? this is the biggest pain in the ass, not how to install it like a game from steam, that's not a problem
