In US news and current events today, NYC woman Amy Cooper had her dog off-leash in a section of Central Park that is popular for birdwatching, a section where dogs must be leashed. Chris Cooper (no relation) began filming after she refused to restrain her dog when he asked. 'I’m gonna tell them there’s an African American man threatening my life,' the NYC woman said.
The confrontation in Central Park was posted by the man’s sister, who says her brother left to continue birdwatching after he stopped filming. The NYC Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information noted that ‘police were called to the Central Park Ramble for a report of an assault,' and that no arrests or summonses were issued. The woman in the video has since been fired after the viral video took off online.

Democracy Stifles Debate maybe there are two sides to the story here. Maybe he DID threaten her life before he started recording. But, if that’s the case, it would seem pretty strange for her to be walking towards him after that with him asking her to stay away from him. And why would she be apologizing the way she did if she was really justified in making the phone call to the police and saying what she said? I wasn’t there, but the limited evidence we have suggests that she was indeed overreacting and making a false claim.

If the cops came and shot that guy, they would have made up some story about the guy being agressive. That's why most people just start streaming when they feel they are in danger.

Of course there may be pathological reasons, but neither a phobia this level nor sociopathy are occuring just overnight. With such extremely reckless behavioral patterns it's in her responsiblity to seek and undergo treatment, simply to not be a danger to your fellow beings. However, it's still possible she's genuinely sorry, but do you actually buy it? I don't.

So I think anything you need to "know" before he started recording is all right here in what we did see.

I love how there is all this 'research' done by police that apparently shows that body cams are ineffective?!? Anybody who doesn't want things to be recorded is hiding something. I have come across so many people defending this woman, saying that before he started recording, he was threatening her. Do you know what I do when somebody threatens me? I leave... she wasn't scared if she was standing there calling the cops. We even see her switch to hysterics on the call, in response to nothing at all. Anyway, this is why I have started to stop and record police now. I am also trying to petition for police body worn cameras in my country.

My heart goes out to this man, he could have been killed for birdwatching. She basically called and ordered a legal lynching, while simultaneously choking her dog.

it's because she's in fight mode, so she's keeping her back postured and intimidating towards her enemy. She rather suffocate her dog than appear weak by bending her back. One would think this is typical behavior of an aggressive male, but these empowered women do it too.
