Thanks for showing what this looks like and how it installs with the original head light still on the bike. Nice and easy, quick and fast.. Good job Sir.
Wow nice quick vid. I've been trying to find and find lights for my 05 VTX 1300R. I have some new additional lights. But currently just running an aftermarket LED headlight. This could be a nice option to look in to!
Is the lens on your bike 5.75” or 7”? I ordered one of these and the adapter ring for my VTX1300c and it showed the 7” but when I got it, it’s way too big for the chrome housing.
From what I've seen with the Daymaker, the light pattern isn't all that great. And once you install it, you have to adjust the headlight down a bit so you don't blind oncoming traffic (yes, there is an adjustment in the VTX housing) I went another route and di my research to find an LED H4 bulb that actually works better, for alot less than the Daymaker. I tried three different bulbs before I found an LED bulb that throws a nice sharp cutoff line on low beam (doesn't blind people) and has a great light pattern on high beam. And it's much easier to install (just swap the bulb and plug it in) So for about a third of the price, you can get an LED bulb that works perfect in our VTX reflector housing!
Would you mind giving up the info of the replacement light bulb you found if you dont mind ? Would be great for people trying to do the same thing, or make a video and post it up so the rest of us can make use of this awsome information you can share with us fellow VTX BROTHERS !!
I've not had a problem with anyone flashing me the brights and the pattern covers the road in such a way that visibility is greatly improved. It sounds like you may have another way of achieving similar results. If you can post a link for the VTX people. Thanks for watching.
I have found that the light is more of a flood light than a spot but if it needs to be adjusted a few flat washers will do the trick. hope this helps, Thanks for watching.
@@funbro1 So, I'm thinking about attempting a similar mod to my 05 Shadow Sabre, using a JW Speaker adaptive headlight, assuming I can make it fit. Now that it's two years in, do you have any regrets about the inability to make adjustments?
Looks fantastic in your bike! I have an 08 VTX 1300R. I believe the headlamp housing is the same as the 1800 but I will verify. Can you tell me who makes that light? Is there a vendor link you can provide? Thanks
In this case the light was just slightly smaller than the original headlight. That is why the ring has to be installed to make up the difference. Hope this helps, Thanks for watching.
In this video I installed an LED but the same procedures work for a HID therefore the name of the video is what it is. Hope this clarifies any confusion. Thanks for watching.
Awsome info bud, I've been looking for an alternative but I'm looking to try and stay as close as I can to the stock unit how has been your experience with this set up and what would be your updated feel and what would you do differently ?
Every time I am riding at night I am reminded of how great this set up is. It helps so much for visibility and wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for watching. Happy riding.
You can find the metal adaptor kits on eBay and Amazon or you can get 3D printed adaptor versions on www.vtxdaymaker.com The ones on the direct purchase website have both non-adjustable and adjustable adaptor kits. If you want to use your favorite search engine, type in or C&P these words ... Honda VTX 1300 Daymaker LED Headlight and Bracket or go directly to the aforementioned website.
Hey FB - how are you aligning your light after removing the stabilizing OEM bracket, not to mention vibration control? Is the light beam bouncing around alot? Thanks for the vid!
I have found that this light is more of a flood light than a spot light and i haven't had any issue with the light bouncing around. It basically lights up everything. I haven't had anyone flash me so I have to believe that it is not too bright to oncoming traffic but if it were I would just add a few washers to aim the headlight in a different direction. Hope this helps, Thanks for watching.
There is no adjustment on this light so if it is way too high you will need to shim the light so that it aims down till it points where you want it to. Hope this helps, Thanks for watching.
I did a search on the internet and found it that way. I don’t remember the name of the place but you should be able to do a search and find it or something similar. Thanks for watching.

While the beam is not adjustable It does put out a nice bright light. If it would absolutely need to be adjusted some well placed washers should do the trick. Thanks for watching.

So now it blinds oncoming traffic or rear view mirrors? How do you aim or adjust it up and down?
Use some washers to space it to aim to the correct place.
Thanks for watching.
I'm confused. Is it HID or LED? They are different technologies.
