The reason I wept watching this is because I am 63 years old, I have watched the most heart wrenching years of my life being a Sox fan, I cannot tell you how many times they broke-my heart until 2004, I love my Red Sox and will till my last day on this earth. Same goes for the Bruins,, Celtics and Pats. It is how we are brought up here in New England
Indianapolis born and raised but I am a die hard Red Sox fan since I was first introduced into baseball in 1999. Been to 10 total Red Sox home games (6 regular season, 4 playoffs) also the only reason I was in Boston. I will cheer for my Red Sox win or lose
As a fellow New Englander I agree that even in our worst times we strive to find a light and a beacon of hope many of those said times we turn to sports to prove to the world that no matter what happens we will not give up and our determination to persevere will be known by the world. The biggest example of this was after the Boston marathon bombing, it shook me to the core knowing that I almost went to see it in person where the first bomb went off. If something didn’t unexpectedly happen I might have not been here today to write this comment. As the marathon passed people looked to sports and the Red Sox came out on top to win the World Series which in my opinion was the biggest after 2004. I remember this quote and I still agree as I will always will about what David Ortiz said about this city after the bombing, “this is our fucking city”
I'm 17 years old guy and David Ortiz's 2013 ALCS Home Run is always my favorite moment of all time. I wish I can see another world series win from Red Sox.
Technically, the word "great" has more than one definition. The more popular definition is when a person uses it as a "great thing." Another definition is basically "great things" meaning things that are extremely influencial and not necessarily "good."
This is the only team I know that does stuff like that. They show a video of "Greatest Moments" with the worst ones. They are the only team that I know that celebrate past teams that LOST!!! No other sports teams in the world does this. Kind of embarrassing to be honest.
Boston Red Sox fan forever we are and forever will be the #1 Baseball Team History will never forget about us or our heros Thank You David Ortiz #BostonStrong
Uhhhh this may be the best video all time on UA-cam. I LOVE this. Music selection is perfect. Great job and thanks! I just repeated "It's into the bullpen, this game is tied, this game is tied, David Ortiz, David Ortiz, David Ortiz" about 25 times. Awesome!
I was far to young to feel the entire weight of 1986 but I vividly remember the pain and shock that surrounded game 7 of the 03 ALCS. I can still hear the call by Joe Buck during Posadas at bat, "A flare into centerfield.. out is Walker he wont get it, the baserunning of Matsui.. nobody covers 2nd..tie game!" when he said "nobody covers 2nd" those 3 words crushed me, bc in that moment I think i caught a glimpse of what so many older Sox fans felt so many times up until then. For me thats why 2004 was so heavy emotionally bc it brought generations of family, friends, neighbors so much joy, relief and satisfaction. It was incredible
For a Red Sox fan, the world changed when Roberts stole that base. If there is one seminal moment where a fan can say, “THERE...that is where it all changed. That is where the curse died,” it was that single moment in time.
I still hate that fans blamed Buckner. And then had the audacity to be like, "We forgive you" after 2004. We still had another game to play after this one and still lost that game too! It was not on Buckner.
Pedro's 17 strikeouts against the Yankees in Sept.10-99 was one of the greatest performances in sports.Doing that against the World Champs should have been mentioned as one of the greatest achievements in Red Sox history.
Hey man. I'm writing scripts for a few commentary videos atm. I'll probably release one tommorow if I can edit in time. I'll see the response it gets and if people dislike it, I'll go back to my usual highlights.
I do not understand a bit of this game but I can take part in everybody's exctacy because we humans are basically the same. We love competitiveness and merit. Let it be so always but not at the cost of our lives.
The Red Sox beating the Cardinals in the World Series in 04 was like the U.S Olympic hockey team beating Finland for the gold medal in 1980. All most people remember is the USA beating the Russians that year.
@@callisto5810 Na Verdugo was a great trade as his numbers and feilding % have been almost better than Mookie's. Then Jeter Downs will own the yankees for the next 5-7 years. I'd say Red-Sox are just another 2018 Giants rn but, 2-4 years from now the Sox will be a really solid 90+ win team.

Im only 18 and did the same. It’s amazing the passion that the city of Boston and the Red Sox can inspire
I’m young, so I’ve been fortunate to see all these good years. Respect to you for sticking with them for so long

Ted Williams introduction got me in tears. Legends live forever
I've always loved that Ortiz Grand slam
Same, I was watching it with my dad and the chips and salsa went everywhere but it was worth it
@@hatchyboy2394 its funny how casual the announcer was about it "Big papi...the grand slam."
which one?
There will never, EVER be as magical a year as 2004.
Greatest Moments in Red Sox history
*starts with the worst ones*
BEN PLAYSS it’s to show you where we’ve come from.
That's what makes the Red Sox history so interesting!!
Darkest moments in Red Sox history.

Red Sox history can be looked at as BDR (before Dave Roberts) and ADR (after Dave Roberts).
I don't give a damn who you are a fan of, you've gotta love a Cinderella story like the Red Sox breaking the curse.
i miss the 2018 team

Well my surgery went well. Time to enjoy the videos again.
Good to hear!
How have I never seen this it’s amazing
Thank you!
I wouldn't say greatest as much as biggest moments
Whats the difference?
You should do this with the celtics
Mookie smh should still be here!!!
Forgot The Catch by Beni 2018 ALCS game 4 vs Astros.
this is so good it’s just sad that their team is slowly losing everyone
Made me cry
This gave me chills.
I was about cry just watching this ... making a revival of all these greatest times along
Nice video bro
Great job
Thanks!
Wow great job
"Greatest Moments"
Starts with Bill Buckner
Started with the worst sports moment of my childhood. 10 years old when I watched Game 6 1986 WS. Got better though
Roger Clemens man could he throw that fastball
Carbos 3 run Homer to dead center in the 8th inning of game 6 in 1975. That's my favorite. I was there.....WITH FAKE TICKETS!
Wow amazing! Can you tell more?
It's a long story. I will return when time allows to tell the whole story.
Beautiful!!!!!
How many fans can say, I've seen my team win four world series rings? I can
I’ve seen the 3 and I’m huge Sox fan
Fantastic.
I was on active duty in the USMC and watched that 86 game and cried my eyes out.... No one spoke to me cause I was on death watch!!!!
It’s funny Mookie Wilson is my great uncle and I’m a Sox fan
Ready to add some more to this video?
Hey so when are you gonna make another vid??? I’ve been waiting!!!! I love your content 🔥🔥(it’s me Boston2001, I just changed my name)

Boston sports is goated
Go Pats, Go Sox
@ESports still liking comments. Ur goated
I appreciate the support on videos!
From that team to the “team” they have now
5:34 I was at that game😍
come to this when your depressed

2004 ALCS was actually better than the World Series win (I'll take both)
100% agree. Considering the improbable and impossible odds I would go so far to say it’s the greatest achievement in sports history.
The Red Sox beating the Cardinals in the World Series in 04 was like the U.S Olympic hockey team beating Finland for the gold medal in 1980. All most people remember is the USA beating the Russians that year.

Nice video. Could have done without that cr@p in the beginning, though.
Some people just don’t get it.
Note: Boston never produced a villain like Joker. Heroes only
Dont really like baseball but the red Sox they're kinda good
Poor Buckner. That entire inning was a shitshow and Buckner's error was only the icing on the cake of wild pitches and other infeild errors.
Starting it off with a groin kick are we?
They had to start with the Buckner one.
