I really like the photo at 14:07, never seen the core vertical before. It's almost MilkyWay season in the southwest USA so I'm looking forward to taking shots of it again and better this time. Great video as usual.
Looks to be an interesting location Mads, this is still something that I need to get out and do but good low light pollution locations here in the UK are hard to find.
You are so lucky to get a clear sky Mads, have planned 6 Milky Way central core shoots this year in the UK and not one of them has there been a clear sky, disappointed but not downhearted, will try again next Milky Way season and determined to get an image 🤞🌌 Beautiful images Mads with an apt foreground subject 👌
Since it's always a composite of foreground and background, i find it easier to first photograph the foreground at blue hour and then move to a clear area with little foreground. And shoot the milky way. Since it's so far off it does not change based on location, and it's easier to separate the sky without a lot of foreground junk.
“ Simply Stunning “ Mads, I really want to try taking a Milky Way photo, any Astro really but since I’ve got an idea how to do it ( all in my little note book ) we’ve just not had the weather for it. 1.30 am now and raining
Mads, I think you need a natural night / light pollution filter on your lens or in front of your sensor... the orange glow from the lights of the highway or town or cars, is spoiling a beautiful composition.
@@MadsPeterIversen Do you have one for any of your lenses? The take away the orange/yellow cast considerably, something that doesn't quite work the same in post production. Borrow one and try it yourself.
Mads, I enjoy your videos and want to support a creative, photographer and content creator. I just signed up for the five day deal, because of your recommendation. And I’m curious if everything will work out, though I do have to say your warning about about the scammy feeling was spot on. The shopping experience with five day deal is very annoying and extremely sketchy. If you and other UA-camrs hadn’t ensured it’s safe I never would have purchased it and they should really consider their approach. Even after purchasing they were pushing to buy yet another bundle and another…geez.😂 I did not get those other ones though. I’m hoping to eventually be able to attend one of your workshops or your photoshop training, until then I’ll keep enjoying your videos. Thank you. Best, Nina
Hi Nina, Thank you very much. Yes, I know the process can be rather annoying. Been through it myself and I'll remind them to turn the pushiness down again. I'll collect a sample of screenshots of comments and send it to them. Yet again, thanks a lot. You should have lifetime streaming access and can download the files if you want to.
Great shots - when were you there? I was up there Xmas day last year and found there was quite a bit of light pollution along the horison. I guess I have to get myself out there in the milky way core season next year. Another question: Why do you shoot with such high ISO? When the camera is ISO invariant you get more dynamic range by keeping the ISO down, but of course it is less convenient as it is harder to see what you are doing on site. 🙂
Fantastic images! My dad worked at the Brofelde Observatory for many years, and I have been wanting to take pictures like for years, so I could give him a print of one. Thank you for the tips as to where to stand. Will a 50mm lens on a full frame body be too big to get decent shots at the observatory? I just purchased the big 5 dayDeal bundle and I looking forward to learning a lot.
Thanks a lot, Søren! Sounds like an awesome dad you have there :) I'd definitely say you'll need something between 12-24mm. 50mm is too tight. It's technically possible but you'll limit yourself quite a lot :)
Stunning work Mads as usual! That shot at 8:24 was so good with the road foreground and alignment. Would love more Milky Way focused vlogs from your perspective 😁
Hi Mads, thank you for this great milky way video and also for your other one as part of the 5 day deal package! Maybe I missed it, but I would be as well interested to see more details how you did the light painting. I thought you might covering this topic as well in the 5 day deal video... what unfortunately it is not the case.
I paid for the 5 day deal. Where is it? It just kept taking me to more things to buy and then… nothing. No downloadable tutorials. No links. What happened?
Hej Mads! Super gode fifs, mange tak!! Gik det gik med at stacke flere eksponeringer (for at rense for støj), men uden at man så selv laver "star trails" igennem ens stacking? :D
images manipulated and photoshopped basically, not impressed. Stack the images and then go in and edit/manipulate them to be stunning so called photos. Total Bullshit!
Did someone say Milky Way! 😁 Loved it man
Haha! Thanks a lot! 😁
Nice video Mads, great to see you out lurking in the dark
Haha thanks man! Yeah, I wanna do it more, but it's just always SO LATE! 😅

Love how you keep finding new places, and different photographic perspectives to capture them !!
Thanks a lot, Daniel. It's all about exploring and a bit of luck ;)
How many images did you stack? Thanks
Nice comps and ditto processing. Love the green airglow present in the results also!
Thanks a lot. Yes, definitely something I also recognized :)
Beautiful images Mads, the observatories made for great foreground subjects and the detail in the foreground was fabulous too
Thank you, Jim! Yes, I definitely think it made a lot of sense to photograph the Milky Way at an observatory :)
Fantastic crispy/clear shots Mads, great vlog as always 👍🏻
Great work Mads - beautiful images!
Stunning shots!
Another great video, Mads. The two photos, both portrait layout, showing 2 of the observatories are my favorites. Great work!!!
Thanks a lot, Neal :)
Fantastic well done 👍

Yeah, I bet it is. I'm currently in the lake district and it's really clear here!
Love the composition of these shots. Stunning work and thanks for your dedication and amount of work that goes into it.
Great Video Mads... I wish/must learn how to stack>> I just take one image at a time on my Niko Z7 and Nikon 20mm f1.8 S lens
Awesome work as always! Thank you for sharing!
wow! You are just brilliant. Love your work.
Great video! Bought the 5 day deal! Was only interested in 4 of the options but it was still a great great price just for those.
Just WOW-Fotos, as always! For me, u are one of the best landscape fotographers!!! Much much respect!
Greats from Germany, Rheinland Pfalz
Thank you so much! 🙏

Always look forward to your videos. Can't wait to dive in to the tutorial in the 5Day deal. Thanks Mads!
I am so glad to hear that! Good luck with the tutorial :)
BEAUTIFUL!
Stunning!
Excellent images and video, very informative too 👍🏻
So how do you stack them when they are moving each time.

Yes, especially when there is trees near horizon

You nailed it, sir. Preplanning is the key takeaway for astrophotoging. I highly recommend PhotoPIlls.
And bug spray.

It would be nice to specify the characteristics of the frame.

Det varierer lidt, men mellem 12 og ca 30.
Tak for info 👍😊

@@MadsPeterIversen Bueno, tak!! :)
Fantastisk område, der er så smukt deroppe. Hvis du vil have en god oplevelse, så skal du tage på guided tur deroppe en dag 👍
Fantastisk! Det vil jeg gøre :)
Ole Rømer observatoriet, Århus er fra 1911. Brorfelde Observatorium fra 1951
What do you mean the camera is iso invariant?
The iso control essentially doesn’t do jack to the raw file. That is you can bump it post and it is the same thing.
If you check out Alyn Wallaces's channel he has a video on this subject that explains this in some detail
Can you accually see the milky way before you take the picture? In the video all you se is the stars.
Skønt sted. Bor ikke så langt derfra og altid en succes at fotografere ved Brorfelde.
Ja, det fungerede rigtig godt! :)
