- Without a doubt, Bucharest, Romania is underrated as a vacation destination. You can explore a European capital, complete with history, beauty and charm, for half the price of Paris or London.
Let me show you the Bucharest that I found, while spending three weeks in exploration. After watching this video, you will be ready to reserve an Airbnb and book a flight!

Having retired in 2023, I now travel full-time, seeing places all around the world. My idea for UA-cam is to make the videos more about the places and people along the way, than about me. I hope that the experience for you is both entertaining and educational. Perhaps you will come away from my channel with ideas about places you would like to visit or be inspired to forge your own way.
I travel slowly, spending four or five weeks in each destination. Hopefully, that will allow me to go beyond the surface to find the essence of each location. By the end of 2024, I will have visited 14 countries and five of the seven continents. Come along for the journey!
Another fun video! I'm curious--why would the brew pub "Ground Zero" be named in English?
Thanks!
Located in the Old Town, Ground Zero carries the English name, because there are so many tourists who visit. You'll find English named businesses in. just about every country.
the church that is shown with the caption "St Nicholas Russian Church" at 06:26 is actually the Kretzulescu church, doesn't have onion shaped domes, like the Russian church does, but is rather a typical wallachian style church from 1724
Thank you for the correction. This will help other viewers!
Woohoo, first to comment! What a great video. I never knew Bucharest was so modern and interesting. Thanks for showcasing much of what this amazing city has to offer.
There should be prizes! Sadly, there are not.
I was so impressed with Bucharest! As Alexandra says, they are "civilized"!
The food tour looked great and I would love to explore the giant bookstore! I think I would pass on the tripe soup...
I've found food tours to be so much fun and informative! The bookstore was a great place! There were a lot of other things on the menu with more flavor than the tripe soup. I am certain of that!
