    Ima from tthe u.s. and really like the cartridge or grouse shoots, it's so cool to see every one dressed in the correct manner, just adds a little class. Trying to get my group to change having some luck but it's not easy. Don t change a thing. Jim

    Loved this video and brought back so many wonderful memories especially on the grouse moor. I couldn’t wait for the glorious 12th to arrive but now due to spinal injuries and mobility problems I’ve had to hang up my flag. I loved working my dogs and I loved just been there up on those moors but it really wrenches me each year the date comes around and it saddens me deep down that life’s curve ball has thrown at me. But I do have such fond memories of the days that I had on top of Yorkshire’s finest grouse moors and so many went for the money which obviously helps but as the years went by for me it was never about the money I just loved been there and that was all there was to it. So to the rest of you enjoy the season and have blast, I did.

    Curious…watching from the U.S., what type of grouse? I’m not familiar with the birds across the pond. Looks like great fun! My favorite bird here in the U.S. is Ruffed Grouse, dubbed by many including myself as the King of upland birds.

      Red grouse native to our country on the upland moors, truly wild birds we also have ptarmigan in Scotland on the higher hills

    As usual as superb production. I’m particularly interested in the MacNaughton bar in wood round action, I’m an absolute Scottish gun tragic, I have a James MacNaughton and a Alex Martin. Will there be any further information about this lovely gun?

    Such a shame the 28b is going to obsolete with the hippies and their non toxic rubbish. Gutted as it’s a superb caliber.

      What stupidness is this you’re spouting? They make 28 bore in both bismuth and tungsten loads. Lead in any quantities is bad. Which is why your parents told you not to eat those paint chips that were coming off the wall.

    • @tchadwic82
      @tchadwic82 2 роки тому

      @@Jebbis you’re mad if you think anyone can afford to shoot them in volume or even find them in stores in the UK. Lead is the only realistic long term solution. Even the kiwis agreed on that.

      @@tchadwic82 they're converting a machine now for the 28b. A cost on 500k apparently. They reckon they've pre bought enough steel for a good while.

    Poaching other people's birds, not keepering your own & relying on others doing so

    • @JonathanMMcGee
      @JonathanMMcGee 2 роки тому +2

      Our moor doesn't require keepers as its way to small. We have a piece of land surrounded by managed moors and those keepers trap our walls and monitor predator numbers with agreements in place to allow us to shoot. Thanks for your comment.
