I don't really know her, listened one or two times to Dreamstate before But if it is now like this, wasn't it good before OO I dunno, but she sounds like she's been at a goodest for quite a time She got a beautiful voice, and whilst that easily can replace a lot of Post-Hardcore Male Singers to match a Duo with another Fem Singer
'I will eclipse myself just to suite you' a perfect line to describe Dream State. A God Damn shame they broke up, CJ is an incredible vocalist. I found them in a dark time. I wish nothing but peace on them.
@@Ryuga.D Unfortunately during the pandemic she reported having two mental breakdowns and had decided to leave the band. She deleted all her social media and has basically disappeared at this point. The guitarist was the only remaining member and he's trying to keep the band going with a whole new group of people.

Dream State has evolved in such a positive direction musically, vocally, spiritually... From White Lies to now, watching this band grow has been a pleasure.

It's a rare case of serendipity when you discover a new to you song from a band you've never heard of before that hearkens back to bigger artists' sound during a time when you were younger but speaks to you with it's own identity with lyrics to that speak to you now about who, where, why, what, when and how you currently feel you are. For me, this song and band has done just that.

It's amazing how you keep improving your sound. The soft clean vocals had me shook and the lead guitar in the chorous brought a really nice Pop Punk/Easycore vibe. Plus the spoken words right when the music stops, that gets me every time in your songs

at first I was scared that they were adding too many elements of pop into it, however it just kept growing and got rather heavy. make sure to not lose your bite guys 😊
Literally that's what I was thinking. It's really good that this band have developed and evolved over-time. That's fantastic. I just hope they don't lose touch with their origins. Too many bands have lost fans due to this generalised, unprecedented shift in genre. Let's hope their roots stay solid!

I went back to a chat on Instagram awhile ago back in 2021 and I was scrolling through and clicked on this video that this guy sent me. We really bonded over music like metal, punk and rock. His favorite band was Polaris but he also like iamjakehill. He really got me listening to both of those people but now anytime I listen to them I think about him and how and I honestly miss talking to him. We lost contact because I think he deleted his instagram or something happened to it but it's weird that I still often think about him 2-3 years later. I love this song! CJ wasn't around long but she is up there among my all time favourite vocalist ever. (Kurt Cobain, Maynard James Keenan, Chris Cornell, Lzzy Hale and CJ Gilpin). Nothing against the new singer, she's good and i like your new stuff, but CJ was perfect. I hope she's doing well.
CJ is the most down to earth musician. Actually got to talk With her about spirituality. Shes very open about it and you don't see people like that in the music scene. All in all she's made me a lifelong fan and she's just a wonderful person to interact with.

The past 8-7 years or so have been high key so amazing for rock, metal, metal core. Just as someone who would listen to abandon all ships, AA, BMTH, we butter the bread with butter deeeewwwd 🤣 when I was like 12 just as funny points of reference. And to see the people around my age grow up and start bands with such flare and grace coming out of that era of metal. It’s just crazy growing up and genres growing up with you. Yah know.? Like not only have my tastes for music matured, but the genres of rock really maturing/progressing as well with me!

The past 8-7 years or so have been high key so amazing for rock, metal, metal core.
Just as someone who would listen to abandon all ships, AA, BMTH, we butter the bread with butter deeeewwwd 🤣 when I was like 12 just as funny points of reference. And to see the people around my age grow up and start bands with such flare and grace coming out of that era of metal. It’s just crazy growing up and genres growing up with you. Yah know.? Like not only have my tastes for music matured, but the genres of rock really maturing/progressing as well with me!
You guys are just awesome! You give me with your songs something I can’t explain but it feels so good.
