Car is looking great man. You do amazing work.
Small tip on the seat covers, Next time just use a steamer when you're stretching the covers over the foam to staple them and it wont have the wrinkles.

Amazing job on wrapping up the build and I absolutely love the leather seats you installed. I have black factory leatherette in my 2012, and they have held up really well, but I would love a color like that. I do agree that a tune would likely help you out with the power as well as maybe a DSG tune to help smooth the trans out, but otherwise, drive it until the wheels fall off.
Nice, Zack. Won't you get in trouble with the authorities for the licence plate being obscured? I don't know how your laws operate. In the UK we'd get pulled over immediately. Maybe you can put a plate on the area of the spare wheel? 🤔
It depends on the officer, but I’m assuming this car will grab attention pretty quick so it’s only a matter of time before he gets stopped for it. They’ll probably just issue a warning or write a ticket
Great build! Loved watching the progress from start to finish! You're amazing! The one other thing I was concerned about was pedestrian safety - at the rear. You have a solid piece of metal jutting out from the external spare wheel holder you put together. Here (also in the UK) you could get issued a fine or worse told to remove it...but that aside, my concern is pedestrians. Keep up the good work! Can't wait to see your next car project!
AH YES! Not to knock the sweet tri-toon you've got going, but the Beetle is my favorite project you're up to and I'm happy it's back in another episode. Hope to see this crazy ride in person some day! Great work on it btw. Love how you mixed your own ideas with inspirations from others work.

It would be great if you got a SEMA invite to show it off. A fabric steamer will help with the leather wrinkles.
The bug turned out great. Personally, i loved the color of the paint before you rusted it. Maybe gloss black fenders. Black interior and headliner. But thumbs up on other mods - roof rack, lights, awesome spare tire carrier. Overall a cool, unique car.
I had my doubts (especially with the blown on rust), but in the end, this is super sick!

Fantastic build/ DO get a front end alignment. Even thought you don't feel vibration it is still there and ruining your tires.

The color is a great choice. Looks nice with your design. Pro tip.. use a hair dryer or heat gun to relax and help stretch the material when covering the cushions to minimize wrinkling.

Also you need to do a mini bike in the same color / patina and you can put it on top of the roof rack when you go to places like car shows.

You need to use heat gun on the seat covers so they shrink to size and get rid of creases.

The whole style you’ve gone for Looks cool, have you considered adding a rear bar to match the front nudge bar, to help tie in the spare wheel rack maybe something in the style of the engine protectors on the old baja bugs

MAJOR WIN on the seat covers! I love them - though I'm biased since that was my suggestion in the comments a while back but really just about any option would be nicer than what was stock. Congratulations on the build being complete too!

I admire you for having the motivation to get out and do all that hard work outdoors in Florida in the summer heat. Beautiful job on the car! I have never been a big fan of the patina thing, I am old school I guess, but the car looks really good and you have really done a great job in regards to the workmanship and customization. Really enjoyed the videos.
leave the seat in the sun for a couple hours so they tighten up auto all the way around.

Very groovy. It looks like it might smell like cat pee and Hammy hamster on the riverbank/field mouse which is perfect for working as a private investor like Miami vice or magnum p. I., but apparently there's not a spot of real rust, and the interior has that new car smell. Terrific! Terrific!
Not sure if you remember that Hammy hamster TV show but it's probably on UA-cam and was cool because it was live rodents and animals only and no people, yet there was Hammy able to turn a wrench as they were always fixing something to save the day in under 30 minutes.

****GET ALINEMENT!****** go get the alinement and Balance on the wheels!!! trust me! it makes the difference & will make the tires last!! i wore out tires in 10k miles on my old honda because ignored the balance/ alinement that NEED to be done!!!!

You need to make sure to get an alignment after the lift springs. It looks like you haven't yet.

Love the build. If constructive criticism is desired, the only thing I would change is to pick a lighter tan for the seat covers. You should just incrementally add on to the thing to make it even crazier. Add the goofy beetle honk. Turn it into a bug-out with the exterior tents that strap on the trunk lids. Make the tire swing out or fold down for a seat.
Those 1.8t's have rubber charge hoses so they have to kind of inflate to build boost. That's why you'll notice good response while cruising but if you punch it again it will lag. Basically once it has boost it's good but if you use it you will lag the next time.
The spare tire mount really turned out cool.
I'm not sold on the color of the seats personally, but it's your ride.

When I looking at getting some leather covers for one of my project cars, I too came across that sight. I looked up the comments and they said they are made well but don’t fit as the OE covers do. Something you might look into is to put 1/2” sew foam on the seats which will take up a lot of the looseness of them and then use a steamer to help get the wrinkles off. Other than that, I think the color looks good and the car as a whole looks awesome!
I wouldn’t just show up at a friend’s house without having made plans, let alone a UA-cam star’s house that I don’t personally know! I’m sorry that you even have to say this to people.
I saw this car this past weekend in our small town from a distance.. I said to myself “now that looks really cool”.. I had a mutual friend share pics of said cool car and here I am! Glad to be able to watch this build. I’ll be sure to say hi next time I see you out!
The seats are nice I like the color but I wish you would have found a company called clazzio they're one of the leaders in car seat covers and you would have saved a lot of money it would have been about $500

I noticed that the tires you pulled of were worn funny so to your point, probably a alignment would be good and just a check over fo the front suspension to be sure it is safe for you would be a good idea. Dont want my favorite UA-camr to get hurt.

You should round off those plates you use to mount the roof rack. Those sharp corners can cause a nasty accident.
They make skid plates if you wanna replace the under car liner all together and get the real OFF-ROAD stuff?

Hopefully the law doesn't give you too much trouble over the license plate being covered. I suppose you could mount it right to the upright bar if you had to.
