Most those phones were already pretty much obsolete when this video came out, car phones went out of use in the 90s, and by the time the new millennium rolled around most cellphones were already in a small form. By just 2005 most of the top selling phones had larger full-color screens, often in sleek forms too. Then compare that to 2009, when this video out, 2 years after the first iPhone, by which point every company was trying to replicate Apple's sales. Only ones that were still hanging around by that point were the Bluetooth headset (which is probably more popular than ever with air pods lol) and the blackberry. The industry changed so much during that decade, there is obviously a lot of progress made this decade (especially with cameras, displays, and battery technology), but back then the changes each year so tangible and each model felt like a whole different kind of gadget.
They were already obsolete then that's the joke. Although it probably took a couple of years for smartphones to become widely dominant. They were just a luxury item at first.
So to recap: 9/11, 8 years of Dubya, a recession, Kardashians, 4 years of Trump, and the worst global pandemic since the Spanish flu. Other than that, good times so far!

Although the technology of that time wasn't that vast comparing with today, I still think if any company can come with a decent folding phone like dual touch plus keypad facility with powerful battery life and RAM people may buy folding phones once again. Its just folding phone's give a different set of style and outlook altogether.
