I just saw a video of people preparing Huachuma in Peru, and they did some things a little differently that they say help with the nausea. First, they only use the skin, not the white inner part of the cactus. They say the white part will cause nausea, and the mescaline is in the skin. They also cooked it with lemon to reduce the nausea. Sorry brother, for slow response. It really does vary. In my experience some some cactus are stronger than others. Maybe start with 1 cup, and after an hour or two gage it and have more if you want. Seems to me the darker green your juice, the more of a kick.

It can really vary.I have found some cactuses to be far stronger than others. But if you start with about one measuring cup, you should be okay. A rule I have heard is that 1 foot of cactus is one dose. But I think this is pretty loose as they vary in fitness and strength. One whole foot of most cactus would probably be a fairly strong dose.
so i cut mine all the way through. into star shapes. the waxy skin is still on. can i still do it your way ? chop the stars into small pieces and simmer them ? only issue is i have about 50-70 pieces lol

Yeah you can eat it raw. Its the bright green beneath the skin that has the goodness in it. It will be pretty bitter and i would aim to eat a fair bit for an effect. It may make you feel a bit sick too but no pain no gain haha good luck!!
I’d suggest finding info on traditional huachuma preparation and how to properly consume it. There are traditional ways to go about this, based on probably 100s or 1000s of years of experience. Maybe we could perfect it with modern resources, but start with what is tried and true. There are ways to minimize nausea. And eating it raw may or may not be advisable, considering how (I believe) traditional wisdom says to only use the cactus skin, and that it should be thoroughly cooked (simmered) for hours, with lemon included in it.
Do you know what a safe dose (by weight) would be if you were to weigh out the final liquid? Especially if the person taking the dose doesn't want to trip too hard following a bad acid trip last year? 😅
It’s pretty hard to say, in my experience some plants can be quite a lot stronger than others. And then the brew will vary too. If it reduces it will be stronger. Best bet is probably start with about a cup, give it an hour and see how you feel then have more of you are all good. It’s quite gentle compared to some other phsycodelics, in my opinion anyway.

Mescaline is a alkaloid to control pests, acts as a bittering agent. So basically you can control the concentration by how well maintained the cacti grows. Harsher conditions = more.
@archamedesgadafi7181 I think it's your preperation why you believe it to be more gentle, firstly your dose looks relatively small, also 2 to 4 hours isn't long enough, should be more like 6 to 12. Some people even do longer than this, also when straining the cactus you need to really squeeze the juice and alkaloids out of the cactus.. San pedro can absolutely be an extremely psychodelic trip, if its prepares right, unfortunately alot of people do not, which isn't helped by the fact its notoriously hard to dose anyway due to the massive strength difference from cactus to cactus

The skin of the cactus tend to expand inside your stomach, boiling it is just to extract all the alkaloids into a more digestable liquid. You can just drink the blended cactus but you will feel to sick and gonna throw up, before the mescaline get asimilated by your body.

Man it really does vary brew to brew. Its not as intense as mushies. Two cups is usually a solid hit but not to crazy
