How did you make a living? Please I would like more information. I am 26 years old and I want to relocate to Morelia.

I went to elementary and high school in Morelia way back in the 70’s. I plan on going back when I retire. I still maintain contact with my high school buddies. I obviously have some advantages that other’s don’t have. My parents own 2 houses, one in Morelia and one back in the hills... I also speak the language and am familiar with the culture. To those wishing to move to Mexico, please be open minded. Things are different. Look beyond the cracked sidewalks and lack of clean streets... But you will fall in love with the people.

I love Mexico and its rich culture. I'm from Nicaragua but every time I've visited Mexico I continue to fall in love harder with the country….it is sad that the financial situation for most has them leaving the country. May God give a long life to see every corner of this beautiful and majestic country. Yo Amo a Mexico!!!!

Thank you Cortijo. Yes, it is very beautiful; so is Michoacan and every state in Mexico is beautiful in it's own way and right. Mexico is, generally speaking a beautiful country with multicultural inhabitants, one of the richest cultures in the world, bio diversity, and a cuisine that makes just about every other pale in comparison. Yes, there is danger poverty, slums, ignorance, superstition, bad people; but that Is EVERYWHERE in the world, and Mexico has more good things to offer than bad. If you go and treat the place and the people with courtesy and respect, if you don't do illegal things or associate with criminals you will be safe and will enjoy wherever you live.
I lived there for 49 years and plan to go back in a few more years.
      Best regards!

One cannot longer afford to get sick in the U.S. Even a minor surgery will cost you thousands of dollars, whereas you can get world class medical treatment for a fraction of that in Mexico.

They aren't there to pursue the "Mexican Dream'(which doesn't exist" They are there to retire or teach English. Plain and simple.
Its the same thing in Panama. Old Americans retiring in Panama because of the nice whether and scenic views, but the media likes to call it a large migration towards emerging Latin American countries, which is false.

Geoffrey Katz - You are not on the same fly out as Mexican immigrants. Mexican immigrants have a more difficult journey to the US than an educated-retired American professional moving Morelia. I’m sure you’re a very nice man, however, the comparison you’ve made comes insensitive and so relived from reality.

@@vizsla8579 nonsense. The first thing that would happen is home prices would rise, pricing more people out of the home buying market.
You can guess which group of people would have enough money to overcome higher prices.
