Very valuable info. well and professionally put, other than videos where they shout "ooh Martinique is soo wonderful, look at that flying turtle". but one question, how is reason 5) a reason to retire in Martinique?

I am taken aback how right you got it about my island 👏. The only thing that is not accurate is the boudin: these pictures have nothing to do with our local ones. But hey this is really good analysis.

It appears to me, a seventy-three-year-old who has worked in the Caribbean and would like to live there, that places like Martinique are simply out of reach for me. I am planning to become an expat soon and my financial wherewithal will only be my $1,550-a-month social security allotment and perhaps a thousand a month from my 40-year-old daughter, who has a very good paying job and could afford to assist me. I loved Martinique when I visited but it appears other places in the Caribbean and in Mexico and Central America would be a better fit for me financially. I have ascertained that there are a good number of places for an expat down there where the total cost of all necessities and rent might not exceed $1,000 a month. If that's the case I would be in a good position to enjoy these sunset years since I'd have about $1,500 in spending money.

It's expensive, and how can you buy a house there from the US?. Did you say us resident has only 6 months to stay coming from the US? then what,? You need a visa to work too?

Not my first choice. Too costly. There are better places in the region. Its a nice island but the Caribbean has a lot of nice places for a better rate.

@@Tradesman1956 Puerto Rico is a mess. They have not recovered from the last hurricane 3 years ago. Not only this Puertoricans have been moving to the US because of poverty.

Jesus love you, he died on the cross for you, accept him as your lord and savior he can change everything. For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life" (Jn 3:16"
But you must repent too. From that time Jesus went about preaching and saying, Let your hearts be turned from sin, for the kingdom of heaven is near. (Matthew 4:17)
