Thank you for this. My goal is to finally pass FS3 by next year. This & the change foot spin are my 2 biggest roadblocks to this goal.

Good luck! Both of those skills can be quite a challenge, but a doable challenge!

Just checking in on your channel. Wanted to let you know that I had a real blast at today’s lesson and was thinking of your channel and contents.
First, I brought my DIY stoned outfit for this weekend comp and coach was amazed at the work quality. It was my third stoning work with the only reference material being your videos. So a big thank you here. As for the design, it has a “steampunk” theme with strings around the arms which I used my worn out edea color laces. Kind of like saying I’m bringing all my ice time to the comp. (Then why is it that I still suck at spins…that’s another story)
After an hour of practicing my program, we did axels. It’s been about a year since we first started working on axels. I am glad to say that I am finally at a stage where I can get “under-rotated (coach says I’m about 60 degrees short)” axels with decent consistency. Next step is going for borderline passable rotations (45 degrees short)…
But really, skating has been so much fun lately and I’m just happy that I’m doing whatever I happen to be doing on the ice. Been making some skate buddies and sometimes even giving tips (credit goes to Coach Julia) to new skaters who say those tips really work. Also making peace with the speed skaters. Speed skaters and their coaches used to hate me but now we greet each other and one coach even joked today that I should switch over to speed; that with my heart and their expert coaching, that I should be in the olympics pretty soon.
Thanks but no thanks. I like the bruises and scratches on my forearms.

Sounds like skating is going really well for you just now. I am glad to hear that!

Why do they call it a mohawk?
