    A common question I get is what's the difference between pricing for wholesale and retail. In this video I go over some things to consider when pricing your cold process soaps and how to price for wholesale, retail, and things to think about when pricing for private label.
    Thanks for watching and supporting me along the way! If there's any way I can help you or answer any questions you have please email me at hello@thesoapgal.com 💙

    Thank you for sharing all your help and knowledge. I am on the very edge of starting out. I am just starting to sell to a few friends and coworkers, one person at a time. Hopefully I can get a little shop and start selling to our small town. Thank you again for your help and knowledge.

    Thank you for a wonderful video. One question, do you buy the oils and sodium hydroxide yourself or are they provided by the brands you make for?

    • @TheSoapGal
      @TheSoapGal  Рік тому +1

      We purchase the materials for most of our customers, but I have some customers that provide fragrances.

    Great video as always!! I have tried wholesale, and have items on consignment, both in addition to my website - my consignment is going great, but the rest of sales are slow. How does one find brands looking for white label?

    Hello there, i just came across your video, i was looking for how to store my lye for a longer time, and saw your video of 50/50, very interesting, and I started watching your videos, I have been making soaps for a while now but I dont sell it, just for me, like a hobby, I make lotions, shampoo bar, hair conditioner, chap sticks, liquid soap for different uses, toothpaste, deodorants, etc, my list is long, but again just as hobby, my daughter wants for me to start selling it, but, i like to make my stuff when i want it, maybe one day, I think i will show my daughter this video, so she will know wat it takes to make a business but I am not interested, I am interested in learning more about soaps, I just made one an hour ago. Ill continue to watch your videos to learn more about it, thank you for sharing your knowledge.

      Thanks so much for sharing! That's wonderful that you've found something you love and want to keep doing it. Maybe your daughter can become your seller if you're not interested in selling? A good question to ask is if you just want to make some income here and there or want this to be a full time thing. Because if you want to just do it as a hobby, if you're making decent quantities you can sell when you want to and choose not to sell when you don't :)

    New Sub here!! Thanks for all the encouragement! I just want a simple recipe on cold process soap that is at least firm and common for everybody to use? I'm already doing Olive and coconut. 70/30 Just feels drying to me or I'm just sensitive? Anything i could add?

    Thank you, Joanna. What happens to curing the bars? Do you cure it before sending it to your client or do they cure it?

    • @TheSoapGal
      @TheSoapGal  Рік тому

      It cures for around 3 weeks during our pack and ship process, then usually sits in a warehouse for another 1-2 weeks. Each soap typically cures for 3-4 weeks prior to be put on store shelves which then allows it cure even longer before people to purchase.

      She included employee manufacturing costs and all overhead into that $2 bar. The bar itself (materials alone) is probably closer to under .50 cents.

      @TheSoapGal  11 місяців тому +1

      Thank you Nikki! Yes Sharon! The cost of goods is in the cents due to being able to buy everything in bulk and receiving the bulk price breaks.
