Seriously, the aesthetic/art style is so good. Reminds me of those plastic toy soldiers I used to play with as a kid, or old cartoons I barely remember, it's very nostalgic but it's also still its own thing. I'm absolutely in love with these little guys

I'm so happy this channel is bringing some focus to the quar! I've turned away from GW at this point but I still love painting and miniatures, so finding Quar right when the new plastic range dropped was like one of my wishes had been granted.
Being referred to as 'the fruit watching this video' was strangely validating. Loving the Quar stuff
before i discovered quar i really didn't think i would change my whole channel to revolve around something else but here i am! i am going to draw some inspiration and try to mish and mash all the methods of painting quar into one definitive method, so thank you very much for this inspiring explenation.

Love your “head cannon” about the spots! In truth even after 15 years I still struggle with them. Contrast,contrast, contrast!😜
Your skin technique is very similar to mine, exception being I add pastel versions of the main color instead of white to keep the “watercolor” vibe. And I’ve started moving away from the human skin tones toward the brighter colors too. Although after your kind word I may need to go back to the yellow-browns!!

You know, now, I am wondering about a what if video if the Quar meets w40k
I think that they look very smart and cute and they resemble frogs (I like them).
I got back into sculpting and modelkits this time last year and I have been thinking about doing mini stuff again, and the sheer Just A Little Guy nature of Quar is pushing all the right buttons for me.

Honestly, Finding out about Quar was really awesome, I love their designs, and am trying to get boxes and interest at my local game store. Thanks for the Information about all of this! 9:59 I legit love painting my Deathwatch for this reason. I can kit bash each one a lil different to add personality and each one has different colour shoulder pads, weapons. capes etc but has the black armour and silver arm to keep them coherent and unified.I just like that your brought that up as the entire time watching this vid it was reminding me of why I love me Deathwatch.
I was also hoping if I could ask you about how big guardsmen arms are compared to Quar. I've been considering kitbashing some to hold melta and plasma for Cadian shock troops but would hate to order a bunch of bits just for them to be too big and awkward looking.

I would say they are relatively the same, but the hands of quar are much larger so it might look a little awkward

The ease of access for these are so amazing!! Especially with the low detail of the faces and more fun non human skin tones. People are far less limited and I think that’s awesome. I also love the water colour art style of the official artwork.

Weird question but does anyone have any good tips for removing mold lines on the heads? I tried as gently as i could but i still have a big flat spot. Is there a special tool?
If I may ask something somewhat random, how would you convert/kitbash Nurgle-corrupted Quar?
pox walkers are roughly the same size as the minis... I'd start there for the arms
@@MishMashPainting Ok, also since you mentioned that the skin of Quars is similar to fruits, maybe painting the skin of Nurgle-corrupted versions of Quar to look like rotting fruits could work well
