      My Rittenberry Prestige blows me away. Every time I have a conversation with Derek I let him know how solid of a guitar it is. Sounds great, tunes and stays in tune night after night, and the pedal action is like butter.

    With pedals, knee levers, and bar slants it seems learning steel is like operating a 3 stick back hoe and pipe organ at the same time. There HAS to be more younger guys up to the challenge. A steeler can always find a jam.

      @@shaneframe1 With the recent revival and re-discovery of Linda Ronstadt's music there is likely an audience fascinated by the work of two guys passed on:"Sneaky Pete" Kleinow, and Big E(the g.o.a.t. Buddy Emmons). Dan Dugmore is great and at last check STILL does session work.
      We like the sound, Keep on teaching & "steeling".

    Don’t know what amp rig you’re using,but a buddy of mine pulled the 2-12’s out of a new Fender ToneMaster twin and installed a 15” BWidow in their place. Sounds KILLER!!!
    I’m using an A/B splitter and running it and another 2-12 Twin together.

    • @shaneframe1
      @shaneframe1  13 днів тому

      When I made this video I used my Fender Tone Master Twin. I use the Fender Tone Master Twin 2x12 on my live gigs and a Mesa Boogie Lonestar 1x12 for recording. The Fender Tone Master Twin is very reliable and has the high end needed to cut through a loud band mix on stage. The Mesa Boogie Lonestar has a rich, warm, and vibrant tone when recording.

    is that bump coming from the A pedal when you release

    • @shaneframe1
      @shaneframe1  Рік тому

      Yes, the A pedal is raising and lowering the 5th string to give the note the bending sounds. The B Pedal that raises and lowers the 6th string is being held down for most of the chop and release only in the middle and end of the lick when the strings are released to the G chord.

    The right (volume pedal?) do you do just slight adjustments while playing? I was trying to understand the lap steel and how exactly you are playing. Thanks!

    • @shaneframe1
      @shaneframe1  7 місяців тому

      Yes the volume pedal is used to add expression and help buffer pick attack. Most of the time it is small movements.
