@@Janary08 It's amazing how good of a representation of destructive narcissism this is. Azula shows what can happen when you follow in a narcissists footsteps and become like them. To her there is nothing more painful than her other parent (and the world) not seeing how 'great' she is, it breaks the illusion of power and control. For a narcissist there is nothing more scary than someone not acknowledging their control. Even if you're angry with a narcissist and cut them out of your life they'll still feel powerful because they had so much influence over your emotions, and that power is more important than being loved. Which in turn means that the only way to feel significant and seen by a narcissist is by making them proud and meeting their expectations, Azula does this but it never truly gains her anything, it's an empty pursuit. It's a very complicated and heartbreaking dynamic and i'm so impressed with how maturely this topic was approached on the show.
But she was already a messed up child from the beginning with burning her dolls, lighting someone on fire, and destroying the things around her like that bush. I know she kept doing it for her mother’s attention but she could have used a different approach. Her father just encouraged her bad behavior and since she needed a parents love she kept on doing it to the point where she did go mad but she was already bad in the beginning.
@Lohen grin You really missed the point.. Maybe educate yourself on the dynamics of narcissistic parents and particularly the golden child dynamic. It'll make more sense to you.
But, here's the problem. Azula underestimated them so much that she thinks those two will not going to betray her. When she said to the King Kuei: "It must be hard to find someone as closer as it is" Or something, You can see both of Mai and Ty Lee exchanged their faces like they agreed. As a kid, I hated Azula because she reminded me of my friend’s sister. However, as an adult, I can sympathize with her somehow, and it makes her last confrontation with Zuko even more heartbreaking.

Another things, Zuko: 1. Where are her bffs, Mai and Ty Lee? Why are they not there? 2. Where are The Dai Li agents who last time helping her in Ba Sing Se? 3. Do you think it's normal for doing a coronation when *no one* is there and while everyone is in the war?

When Azula had her breakdown after being defeated, it I was terrified. It sounded like a demon was in her and that was probably the darkest moment in ATLA
I felt like the blood bending stuff was the darkest. After watching the Puppetmaster episode I was like, "damn, they really want there didn't they?" Also that old lady was creepy AF the whole time, even when she was being nice. It's like the writers knew the depths they could go with bending and then were like, sure, let's go there.
Fuck Iroh for saying that about his own niece! That statement is the most callous and heartless comment I've heard from the so called fan favorite sage. Iroh only cares about Zuko and never acknowledges Azula as a niece! He doesn't give a shit if she lives or dies.
Azula is literally the age of a 8th-9th grader, she’s a child who, like many of the children in the avatar world, she’s a child born into a world of blood whos had to learn to act a certain way to survive
When her friend betrayed her was her real breaking point she was never the same. That day in the prison when lee used her chi blocking moves. The only people she could count on. It’s really sad in a way and I feel for her.
Katherine Tan you right but, that’s the type of love she knows how to distribute. Never have you seen her hurt her friends. If one of them were to die you know for a fact she would’ve went all out and killed everyone’s bloodline for them. 💯
Katara: My mom used to breathe Sokka: My only family left are my sister and dad Toph: my family was overprotective Zuko: my family wants to be all psychopathic and rule the whole world leading my mother to leave and possibly die because she didn’t want that Aang: You guys had parents?
Random Page yeah but that’s what sokka said he said he said he had no one but his sister and his dad and katara took his mothers role after she died he said
Azula is one of the best villains I’ve ever seen in television. She was incredibly well written and a very complex character. She’s definitely one of my favorite characters on the show
i think the whole show is one of the best in general. they knew what story they had to tell and told only that, no dragging it on for views. the characters each have enough depth to allow bonding with the viewer without it being confusing. not to mention that the characters each have traits that many kids can relate to. the shows a real gem
Sometimes I’m astounded by how complex, diverse, and fully realized each Avatar character is. There isn’t a single character I can think that doesn’t have a fully realized character arc that leads them to where they are now. They all have relatable issues and backstories that are not only interesting, but understandable.
What about toph? She never saw her family again or what? She thought her mother was looking for her in ba sing se but ended up being kidnapped. Where's the closure to that?
@@temtech9730 i didnt read the comics or anything but her family was obviously not willing to let her live her life in the show and she seemed happy that she was on her own path separate from them.
@@whoswho1233 well, by the way she reacted when she heard that her mother is in ba sing se, although a trap, I don't think that she is completely happy with her life and she misses her parents. I feel like she wants her parents approval still.
@@jakehaessig5151 I cant express how much of a shame that is. I just recently found out that is why there was no book 4. The movie was absolute garbage, what a mistake lol.
Knowing how Izumi (Zuko's daughter) and Iroh II (Izumi's son and Zuko's grandson) are nice, it is implied that they both never meet Azula and Azula probably leaving with her asylum friends for good because she knows she can't manipulate Zuko anymore. I can imagine Azula might be living the rest of her life with her new 'friends' but at the same time, she will feel guilty, delutional and regret because she never raised with love. Even if she's back in Korra, she might suffer the same feeling like Katara and Toph for 'their fighting day is over'.
i feel like she want to learn how zuko direct is lightning and after so many tries she died young accidentaly but she was happy because maybe she thinks no one is more deserving to kill her than herself
Azula the one protagonist who's actually smart enough to take a shot when the dude she's fighting is powering. Whoops meant to say antagonist I know she's a villain.
to be said that its a show, so ages are simply something said ; 14 years old , growth as a heir to the trone , gifted . if not for the body ( not only that she seems 2-4 years older by body shape , but by phisical strenght ( something that i attribuite to the bending since it seems to empower ppl and weakening them when removed) i don't think this is too far fetch . considering kids as non-humans, incapable to "act" as "adults" is something that we started doing only recently .
Azula at 14: I have mastered dozens of fire bending techniques, I can produce blue fire, I can shoot lightning out of my fingertips, I am the leader of my country, I am deceptive and a master at lying, and I am a heartless monster. Me at 14: I can twirl a pencil around my finger
When she told mai that she should have “feared me more” all I could hear was “you should have loved me more” ty lee chi blocking her was the breaking point. That was all azula had left. She had serious attachment issues because she didn’t have one healthy stable relationship in her entire life, her way of desperately clinging to mai and ty lee was with the only thing she knew how to do. Manipulate and instill fear to make them never dare to leave her. Her childhood consisted of her making zuko and their mother the object of her hatred. She couldn’t bring herself to hate her father because, even if he didn’t show her real love at least he was proud of her and at least he acknowledged her. So that became her goal. To serve her father and gain power like his. During her paranoid episodes as fire lord she constantly thought he didn’t trust her enough, and she went mad over it. Suddenly she couldn’t trust any one with anything because she believed they would eventually betray her like ty lee and mai. She wasn’t born that way, of course she was molded into a monster at a very young age but if she had someone like zuko had iroh and his mother, she wouldn’t be nearly as damaged as she is now. It just goes to show that gifted children have a huge weight on their shoulders to continue living up to their own high expectations as it is, perfectionism and her own fear destroyed her.
perfect, non biased explanation. Thank you for not writing this from an overly sympathetic and victimizing the villain standpoint (like most Azula “fans” do.)
i mean there is a difference between seeing how your child is a textbook psykopath with imense power and being an abusive parent, but aight lets just act like it was all her mothers fault and that she woudn't turn out as the villain if her mother acted normally and didn't run away
sadly there’s no season 4 to tie in the loose ends. some characters still felt unfinished and some conflicts as well, like with Zuko and his mother, Toph and her parents. and development of other characters
Knowing that azula's power hungry nature came from grief makes me wonder where ozai's power hungry nature came from. Since iroh was older, he was the natural hair to the throne, so ozai wasnt raised to be a supreme leader, so I Wouldnt wrack it up to the way he was raised. I wonder if he had a similar early life to azula, and part of the reason he favored azula is because he saw himself in her. I would never justify his actions but it would still love to see a backstory.
Yea she was one of my favorite characters. I was always wishing that maybe Iroh or Zuko would be able to appeal to her and persuade her to make a turn for the better.
I swear I can't defend any of Azula's actions as she was going to be the next Ozai and was particularly happy about it. Like it scares me how much joy she had in murdering a bunch of innocent earth people even though they won the war. IDC if she was used as a weapon she had a choice between doing what's morally right and what's morally wrong and she chose wrong as it will give her more power.
@@skelebott9178 I just mean that I can relate to getting a "girl toy" when my brother gets something cool/thoughtful. I guess I haven't read any of the comics that came after the series, so I wouldn't know how much time the kids spent with Iroh at this point. However, I would imagine that it wouldn't be hard to find a thoughtful present for an outspoken bending prodigy. Being an excellent fighter is literally a part of who she is... He could've picked up a knife for her when he was getting Zuko's. Even as an afterthought, it probably would have been better. In the scene, the background music even changes to some dinky tune, to signify to the audience that the gift was lame. Not that Azula deserves a thoughtful gift from Iroh, lol. Edit: Hey guys, I know I wrote A LOT here, but this really wasn't meant to be that deep. I was more making a comment on how the scene was interpreted in this video than anything else. Thanks for the talks tho. For some strange reason I'm having a lot of fun 🤔 Wish I could talk to ATLAB fans more irl 😅
APersonUsingGoogle I think it was the level of relationship Iroh had with Zuko and Azula. When Zuko, Mai, Azula, and Ty Lee vacationed at Ember Island and they had flashbacks even when Zuko was a baby his Uncle Iroh was always playing with him and treated him like a son. So Zuko was always looked out for by his mother and Iroh because they saw the way Ozai treated the two of them differently. But I think she was kinda neglected and they could have down more to help her be better instead of writing her off as messed up. Lol I definitely get what you mean btw.
Fun fact: In season 2, Azula became a fairly popular character which neither of the creators expected because she was supposed to be a character the fans hated since Zhao was out of the picture. They decided to give her more humanizing moments in season 3 partially because of this and partially because they wanted to give most characters more depth in that season.
When Zuko and Azula fell, Zuko had his friends to catch him but Azula did not. She didn't die tho. She saved herself. From then on, it seemed like that was the metaphor of how her life would be like. Her and her alone, surviving and conquering.
It is actually pretty sad because nobody loved her only those 2 girls loved her and when they betrayed her nobody loved Azula and no human can live without love so she was having a really bad breakdown so she started crying and i was feeling bad
Dg_06 did they actually love her though?? Ty Lee only left the circus to join Azula because she realized that Azula would keep coming back to the circus she performs in and keep trying to kill her in her circus acts if she didn’t end up eventually leaving. And Mai even said in one episode she “loves Zuko more than she fears Azula”, indicating that she was never on Azula’s side/“friends” with Azula because she actually liked Azula. It was in the episode where Zuko and Sokka break into the high security prison in the fire nation to rescue Sokka’s dad.
I just love Azula.. She is the perfect antagonist who has real depth in her character contrary to Ozai. She is a psychopath but still lovable. Her breakdown at the end broke my heart and I somehow relate why a strong person with even with stronger personality like her could break down like that... grate portrayal of a real antagonist.. hats off.
@@zunairamahreen3709 first off, she says she likes how realistic Azula's character is which is understandable because in life we can have our own azula's but they're also human beings with depth and actual personality traits. As a character, as an antagonist, azula is an amazing example of how we should create our villains to be, their humanity, their depth and personality traits make them very realistic and still they're capable of doing horrible things, which makes them terrifying. I think that's what this person is trying to get at but instead of listening you insult them, and then when someone insults you too you get even more upset which is pretty absurd if you think about it
“You miscalculated, I love Zuko more than I fear you.” -Mai Imo I think this means more than what I originally thought. It’s not just Mai declaring her love for Zuko, it’s her confirming that they aren’t friends. By saying that she feared her it implies that she recognizes what their relationship was. Not only was it badass but a significant point in the series. I think this was the moment that set Azula off. Realizing she had no real friends and using fear over trust lead to her paranoia. By choosing fear over trust in her relationships she dug her own grave. Just my personal thoughts.
Just finished a rewatch of the series and this is DEFINITLEY the point she starts to unravel. Usually she’s calm and precise, but when Mai said that she FLIPPED SHIT
Kind of sad how people miss the underlying meaning of Azulas’ character. She is what Zuko would’ve become if he didn’t get the love and guidance from Ursa and Iroh. If you look at the story from the perspective of Azula, she’s simply being the perfect daughter; arguably the best bender in the world, loyal, smart, cunning, completely raised by Ozai, she became his perfect war tool. Zuko, on the other hand, had the privilege of being banished with his uncle who could teach him the ways. Azula never had anyone who cared about her and she was 14 (!!)
@@mannenibla204 they were both abused children. Whether you wanna argue nature vs nurture, Azula is a product of being raised by Ozai. She knew she was never favored by her mother, and she didn't care because all she needed was Ozai continually praising her for being perfect. If you watch her scenes with Zuko, you can see that she does seem to care about him in some way. Especially in the scenes on Ember island.
she said once in the show something like that she wanted zuko to die cuz then she'd be the fire lord (cause he's older) but i still never really realized how zuko acts like a teen and she acts like an adult
That's a bit of an oversimplification, daddy issues don't make you a people pleaser at all, looking at Zuko that's not what i see. What this really is about is the complex trauma you suffer from having a narcissistic authoritarian parent. Zuko is the black sheep, never good enough, his struggle is finding self-worth and acceptance. Azula is the opposite, she was build up by her narcissistic father because she is the golden child, the one with potential and so her struggle is trying to meet the impossible demands of her father in order to feel worthy, only her father's approval has any meaning to her. Truth is that narcissists do not ever value you for who you are but only for what you can do for them meaning that their true pain is the absence of parental love. Unfortunately in Azula's case desperately trying to attain that love causes a rift between her and her other family members making her even more lonely and creating the narrative that she will never be loved which leads to her belief that if she doesn't look out for herself no one will, she feels like it's her against the world. Zuko goes through quite the journey but eventually finds the healthy way out; finding love and support in people outside of his family and sharing his grief so he can heal, that way he becomes more and more independent and in the end won't need his father's approval.
You mean WAS something.. Nick has died down, most of the cartoon channels have died down since the art and comedy has changed, there’s not a lot of deep and interesting shows anymore with long stories
On the other hand i admire how the series displays how mental health can damage someone, I also admire how it presented a child of circumstance and how “the grass looks greener on the other side”
Zuko: If the Earth Kingdom discovers us, they'll have us killed. Iroh: But if the Fire Nation discovers us, we'll be turned over to Azula. [Both look at one another and nod] Zuko: Earth Kingdom it is.
I mean, straight up all people in the world have family problems, some are tame, some are downright horrible. Just to take into account, around 50% of marriages end in divorce, just that, on a marriage that has children, is devastating for them (and that's one of the tame examples). (Also this is part of what makes this show's characters feel real, they all have their own internal and external struggles).
StapleGolf Well even though Aang never knew his real family, he had the monks. They were his family. And when he and the other monks found out he was the Avatar, that change everything. All his time was dedicated to mastering the four elements. And his only friend became Monk Gyatso. So when he found out that they had all died, he was devastated. He was filled with anger and sadness, forcing him into the Avatar State as an outlet for the pain. He then realized he wasn’t alone, he had Katara and Sokka. And they became his new family.
She never went crazy, she was always crazy, she was just in a position where she could control her life’s events, psychopaths suppress their instability by controlling everything they can when they lose that control the instability comes forth to the extreme
Azula and Sokka were my favorite characters in the series. I personally think they could make 1 season with either of those two as the centerpiece. Azula's redemption or destruction and adopting a misfit boy that he could love in a way that she didn't get from her mother, while Sokka creates a school for swordsmen and has a child with Toph outside marriage.
Your Missing Papa why the fuck would sokka go with toph? That makes no damn sense. You just want the gang to all become on big massive marriage fest why they all fuck each other and have kids because of your wild fantasy.
Iroh was one of the best judges of character. . When Zuko asked him if he should try and repair his relationship with his sister. Iroh said only: “ No, she’s crazy and needs to go down”.. hahaha
Iroh is a hypocrite all his talk of love and he couldn't give azula unconditional love and discouraged zuko from doing the same. Azula gained nothing by lying to ozai that zuko killed the avatar and she covered up for zuko when he visited his uncle she could have ratted him but she didn't. If you watched the ember island episode, azula comforted zuko in the house but when azula started to talk to zuko about her feelings he was silent towards her no words of comfort or a hug. No shit she turned out this way
@@achillesrodriguezxx3958 she knew the avatar was probably alive. it was just so she stayed having her control. she said it herself, if the avatar was alive, Zuko would be in deep shit. azula has little empathy for even her own brother, so i''m confused on why you're implying you'd expect Zuko to comfort her

Achilles RodriguezXX but you see, she did gain something. after her talk with zuko, she suspected the avatar was alive. she didn’t want to have to deal with the consequences if the rumor was true. that’s why she gave that honor and title to zuko. if it indeed was true, then zuko would face humiliation and be seen as a disappointment. in other words, she didn’t do that for zuko; she did it to protect herself
The thing people forget is that Zuko is the older brother. He often wants to protect and help her or at least wants her to be ok. He only wants to help her.
@@nancyingrace incorrect, he says to to Aang in the episode siege of the north, "you're like my LITTLE sister. My father said she was born lucky, and I was lucky to be born"
Honestly, I feel a lot of guilt when I think of Azula. When she was a child she had no sense of right and wrong, this should have been just a phase but pretty much everyone including Ursa made it her personality, Ursa did what she thought was right for the family, the father favors the sister and the mother favors the brother but she had failed to realize that children AND A SPECIALLY AZULA need attention from both parents. However, even if Ursa had realized that, it still wouldn't have made a difference because of Ozai. And Zuko and Azula just had a sibling rivalry that would have faded if it wasn't for the reasons I listed earlier. And if it wasn't for that narcissistic asshole named Ozai, Azula would have never have to go through this terrible purpose. However, we never heard what happened to Azula after she watched her brother's speech. So I hope for her sake that Ty Lee or someone like her showed her the true meaning of life; happiness. Something that was never shown in Azula
She was definitely scary but Azula had a heart, however small. Ozai burnt half of his own son's face off. The amount of screaming that Zuko would have been doing would be bone chilling.

There is a high risk associated with that technique that takes away fire bending. If his will is not as strong as hers, he would be corrupted. He would die. He almost died when trying that technique with Ozai.
I wonder if that would work with Azula. Considering her deranged state of mind, and the sheer power. Ozai was a good fire bender, but NOT quite on par with his daughter. Her state of mind would remove any limitations on her power. And Aang has to be in the Avatar state to do it. Pretty risky if your opponent is her!

The golden child for the narcissist parent ozai. If I were in her place I'd crumble from the pressure she went through 😐
@@Janary08 same. It's no surprise she crumbled too
@@Janary08 It's amazing how good of a representation of destructive narcissism this is.
But she was already a messed up child from the beginning with burning her dolls, lighting someone on fire, and destroying the things around her like that bush. i think the whole show is one of the best in general. they knew what story they had to tell and told only that, no dragging it on for views. the characters each have enough depth to allow bonding with the viewer without it being confusing. not to mention that the characters each have traits that many kids can relate to. the shows a real gem

Sometimes I’m astounded by how complex, diverse, and fully realized each Avatar character is.

Iroh was the favorite growing up and ozai was pretty much ignored. Ozai was jealous of Iroh so he grew power hungry to get his fathers approval.

It sucks when the villains aren't actually terrible people but just people with who've been mislead.
But it also means that they have a lot if potential
It puts you into a crazy dilemma of who you want to trust and who you don't want to trust. This is what the show always does.
It means they are more evil because they chose to. They liked it because they couldn't compete with others in empathy
id argue that makes them more compelling antagonists
That’s all true villains. People aren’t born evil.
Her and her alone, surviving and conquering.
thats how villain was born am i right? even in real life. ie the one who got bullied in school shooting xD

As a character, as an antagonist, azula is an amazing example of how we should create our villains to be, their humanity, their depth and personality traits make them very realistic and still they're capable of doing horrible things, which makes them terrifying. I think that's what this person is trying to get at but instead of listening you insult them, and then when someone insults you too you get even more upset which is pretty absurd if you think about it
“You miscalculated, I love Zuko more than I fear you.” -Mai
Imo I think this means more than what I originally thought.
I agree. Her craziness went off the edge when she realized she had lost the hold she had over her two friends especially because of Zuko.
I think it also has to do with her mom "loving" Zuko more too. Remember she confessed how she believes her mom felt about her back on the island.
Yes...she was slipping after that..I think zuko would win on the last agni kai with azula if azula had not try to strike katara with a lightning
Also the fact that Mai said that proves that she thought Azula was stupid
Azula: my own mother thought I was a monster
Zuko: that’s rough buddy
Kind of sad how people miss the underlying meaning of Azulas’ character. She is what Zuko would’ve become if he didn’t get the love and guidance from Ursa and Iroh. If you look at the story from the perspective of Azula, she’s simply being the perfect daughter; arguably the best bender in the world, loyal, smart, cunning, completely raised by Ozai, she became his perfect war tool. Zuko, on the other hand, had the privilege of being banished with his uncle who could teach him the ways. Azula never had anyone who cared about her and she was 14 (!!)
Exactly, she had Ozai's favor, but she never got love.
They were both loved by their mother. She just didn’t accept that love
I don't think so. She had psychopathic traits being manipulative and feeling no sympathy. I think she was born that way.
@Mister Extraordinary She was 14. idt any main teen character was over 16
i didn’t know azula was younger than zuko. she always gave me older sister vibes
I didn’t know which, but I thought she was older
Azula talks mature than Zuko because the way she was raised while Zuko talks like what teenagers do. Even Azula called her big brother, "Little Zuzu."
i didn’t know who was older but i thought azula was at least 16 not 14
she said once in the show something like that she wanted zuko to die cuz then she'd be the fire lord (cause he's older) but i still never really realized how zuko acts like a teen and she acts like an adult
yeah I thought Zuko was younger or they were twins or something.
Basically:
Having daddy issues makes you a people pleaser
Having mommy issues turns you into a psycho
What if someone have both of them
gordon ramsey they become doofenschmirts

Bruh straight up everyone in the Avatar world had family problems
I mean, straight up all people in the world have family problems, some are tame, some are downright horrible. Just to take into account, around 50% of marriages end in divorce, just that, on a marriage that has children, is devastating for them (and that's one of the tame examples).
(Also this is part of what makes this show's characters feel real, they all have their own internal and external struggles).
Rich M it's not a problem for aang if you know what I mean
Not momo
StapleGolf Well even though Aang never knew his real family, he had the monks. They were his family. And when he and the other monks found out he was the Avatar, that change everything. All his time was dedicated to mastering the four elements. And his only friend became Monk Gyatso. So when he found out that they had all died, he was devastated. He was filled with anger and sadness, forcing him into the Avatar State as an outlet for the pain. He then realized he wasn’t alone, he had Katara and Sokka. And they became his new family.
@@staplegolf9595 I'd say that having your parents and entire nation die when you're that young counts as family problems
Not gonna lie when Azula went insane I was scared
She never went crazy, she was always crazy, she was just in a position where she could control her life’s events, psychopaths suppress their instability by controlling everything they can when they lose that control the instability comes forth to the extreme
Carmel Tebyani yeah, I really did pity her

Season 4 would've been so great, with Azula's redemption and Ursa returning. It probably would've been even better than Zuko's from what I'm seeing.
Ikr that would’ve been avatar completed
I would love for Azula to get redemption!
Why couldn’t this be season 4 of avatar or even a new series about her she’s an interesting character you can do so much with her
Danni Nickelodeon would've never let stories like these air lmao
@@Charliejam. I dunno. I think Aang's master's skeleton and the blood bending episode was more risquè than this, so it's possible.
The sad part is that Nickelodeon was planning on doing a season 4, but then the MOVIE happened
No shit she turned out this way
@@achillesrodriguezxx3958 she knew the avatar was probably alive. it was just so she stayed having her control. she said it herself, if the avatar was alive, Zuko would be in deep shit.
azula has little empathy for even her own brother, so i''m confused on why you're implying you'd expect Zuko to comfort her
@@achillesrodriguezxx3958 Azula lied to ozai about zuko killing the avatar becuase she wasn't completely convinced tht he was dead, and wanted zuko to face the humiliation if he wasn't dead.
@@achillesrodriguezxx3958 You trippin. So many things untrue in your lengthy comment.
Consider the dynamic of her relational situation, her being raised to be successor to throne, this need not be true for Zuko's character.
However, the pressure of her being “perfect” for FireLord Ozai, May have broke her down. Unlike Zuko, who has the freedom to find out his destiny.
Oh shit. I’ve been a fan of this show since I was a child and this whole time I thought Azula was the older sibling
@@ezip8564 Same, she always seemed like the older sibling.
Something that was never shown in Azula
she was the scariest villian in Avatar. more so then Ozai! she could fool Toph's truth-sense!
She was definitely scary but Azula had a heart, however small. Ozai burnt half of his own son's face off. The amount of screaming that Zuko would have been doing would be bone chilling.
@@thrilla72 omg you are very true
@@HoleDiggingJanitor Actually, she was not treated poorly by Ursa. Ursa was afraid and disturbed by Azula's aparent lack of moral sense, so she focused in Zuko, specially considering how badly Zuko was treated by his father, so she wanted to compensate.

@Hassky1 umm you better not be referring to Azula's brain because it was clear she was a genius as most Sociopaths are
Luna if Azula got love from both parents and Zuko did too, they would probably be a happy family and Azula would be much less mental.
Azula was raised by a monster, whose traits she inherited. She was manipulative and abusive of her friends and her brother, but when her friends turned on her and her father denied her, she started to go insane, hallucinations of her mother haunted her. When she was defeated by her brother, she roared like a wild animal, then burst into tears. She’s broken, she broke herself.

I'm surprised Aang didn't take away Azula's fire bending.
He didn't fight her, Katara and Zuko did.
Cause that shit is really hard to do, he barely managed to do it with Ozai
There is a high risk associated with that technique that takes away fire bending. If his will is not as strong as hers, he would be corrupted. He would die. He almost died when trying that technique with Ozai.
I wonder if that would work with Azula. Considering her deranged state of mind, and the sheer power. Ozai was a good fire bender, but NOT quite on par with his daughter. Her state of mind would remove any limitations on her power.
And Aang has to be in the Avatar state to do it. Pretty risky if your opponent is her!
Aang would've taken her bending when she was still in her weak, mental state, basically when she was still in the asylum...
Katara be acting like she's the only one with family issues, when pretty much everyone has
@Just me irohs son, azula never got love from her mother, even momo and appa lost their family
thats true but everyone reacts to pain differently. ik she isn't the only one w family issues but she clearly took it worse than the others
Ikr anng lost his whole race his only family, sokka her brother also lost his mother his girlfriend also turned into the moon , zuko got banished from his own nation and mother had to leave him for her children's safety, toph wasn't allowed to go outside her house cause her parents were over protective, azula became mentally ill a lot and always felt that her own mother was plotting against her
That’s kinda shitty of you to say when Katara is trying to deal with grief. Imagine someone close to you died, of course you’d be hurt. I know it’s a commonly running joke but it’s rude and offensive. You can’t blame her for being sad about her mother’s death, if this is her way of dealing with grief so be it.
