You are providing a much needed assistance to homebound patients who are struggling to get quality services in todays faltering medical system with so many shortages. Thank you deeply for caring! Peace and light🕊️✝️
I work on hip mobility with my body in that same shape (legs in a wide squat) but because I have low back issues I do it lying in my bed or floor. Floor, of course, is more supportive, but not in everyone’s comfort zone early in recovery. I just hang out there in a squat position but on my back. Not only am I working hip mobility but also knee flexion. I focus on deep breathing and relaxing into hip flexion and abduction while also letting knees just soften into bending, if that makes sense. Sometimes I even put my feet on the wall. 🙂
Mobility is one thing, strength is another! If you haven't got the leg strength to straighten your legs and stand after tipping yourself forwards, you end up face down on the floor!
How do you get up safely if difficult to get up due to ankle injury and unable to bear weight and morbidly obese but prior to ankle had no issues getting up off couch but now very hard
Could you please show how to get up off the floor. Last year I had fallen down and lucky I didn't break any bones in my body. But I couldn't get off the floor. I tried very hard but no. I was struggling for a good 45min. Finally I phoned the paramedic and they came over and in few minutes they got me back up on my feet. I have both my knees replaced afew years back but I an on the heavy side.
Very common. Try laying on your side and performing a side leg raise. Then from there progress to laying on your back. You can also try the exercise in standing with your knee bent, but that may be a bit more challenging. I will try to get some videos recorded for you.
If I tried that I would fall flat on my face. I have been doing exercises of getting up without using my arms as both shoulders are really painful. I have been using them way too long and now both are in a bad way.
Tony, do you owe two different Therapy Solutions locations? I am sending my brother in Eaton those two addresses & the phone number and your name. He won’t schedule his surgery date for a few more weeks.
Hi Gail, I am happy to help. Yes, we do have two offices. Eaton is pretty far for regular therapy but he might just want to do telehealth on video or come for an occasional visit.
Total Therapy Solution - Physical Therapy, I just saw that I typed owe when I meant to type own!!!!! I thought he would be only 20-22 miles from you? How far is it? I would sure drive 22 miles to go to you!

This was good! Does this go along with getting off the floor without furniture aids?
I have a video or two about getting up from the floor without assistance. It is great to practice if you can.
Soft couch issues with an single amputee. Will this work for me.
Perfect for getting off the toilet.

10 post operative day can’t raise my leg straight up, is quadriceps weakness normal after surgery ? and when will I will get my stretchy back

I got a dislocated knee and it's very hard getting up from a low couch :(
What state our you in
If I tried that I would fall flat on my face. I have been doing exercises of getting up without using my arms as both shoulders are really painful. I have been using them way too long and now both are in a bad way.
The problem is that everytime I sit on my couch its swallows me into it completely, and it takes for ever to get me out of it
Try it with a big bottom. Good luck.
It’s really tough… with knee injury need assistance getting off chair… unable to by myself…
The only pain I after after 4 months post is my knees getting up from any chair
If you are stuck in a chair or couch, then you can be pretty sure your body does not match that chair or couch.
