Fabulous lesson Jon - thank you very much - thanks so much for taking us through the timing/rhythm - this was so really useful - Keith R does tricky timing patterns - so this was really great, thank you.
Number 1 struggle is breaking out of the beginner stage. I've been playing for a little over a year now and am starting to actually feel comfortable with the guitar and can pick up on easier songs relatively quickly, but progress feels VERY slow right now. What are some things I should focus on in order to move out of the beginner stage? Thanks for the lessons!
Wonderful lesson on this great song. My question is do you list the chords and possibly fingerings on your website? Would help guys like me who need all the help I can get. Also any chance of doing a lesson for Gimme Shelter in standard tuning?
HI Joh: I am very impressed with your website and your playing skills too. I check out just about every video. I'm not able to duplicate your capabilities but it is fun trying. Can you touch a little on tone? I attempt to duplicate your songs but when I play I get a thin note off the string but I hear your playing always sounds much fatter. Fuller tones. More complex. Is there some trick to setting up the guitar or amp????? Love to get a little instruction on that part of your playing ability. Ray
Love all your song choices John! Can you tell us what pedal or style on the amp you're using? It's nice and jangly! Very stones/replacements thank u! Great explaining/teaching as well.
Two years ago I purchased a Squier Bullet Telecaster, and I have really enjoyed it. It's solidly built, it stays in tune, the knobs and switch all feel substantial, and the pickups sound good. Check out Guitar Center or Sweetwater, or if you have a local shop, I'm sure you could find one in stock somewhere.
I agree. I have a Squier and it's an amazing guitar that just happens to be at an entry level price. They make a Telecaster that looks identical to the Fender Jon is playing in this video if that's your style. Check Sweetwater.
Mine seems to be paying attention. the chords onn the scales and no problem but my brain seems to not fixate on what I want and just goes off elsewhere, sometimes I follow . So yeah that's me problem bud what can I do to fix and or alleviate this problem
I love these lessons. Would respectfully suggest to improve lessons that they kick off w a statement of the key, tuning (as Keith frequently plays open tunings), and a statement as to effects, if any, and amp and its settings. This would def help please. Tx u

Great lesson as usual. I have been playing acoustic only. Do you have any suggestions for a good entry level electric guitar?

The intro part etc was played by Mick Taylor. He sued the Stones about it but settled it outside court.
