shortthestrike is a great educator. He moves immediately to the lesson material. Well prepared and no corrections or retractions as he moves through the lesson. I appreciate that he does not franically cause the pointer to dance all of the page, and does not flip back and forth the pages. Excellent work.
This was incredibly helpful. I trade /mnq and /mes from time to time. I had no idea how to set this up. I struggle with TOS, but you made it understandable. Much appreciated.
You explain every thing brilliantly I am a beginner and this video is very helpful, yes Im interested in Futures trading and I think I will start with Thinkorswim broker Thankyou
This was super helpful, easy to understand, caring to explain details, straight to the point! Thank you for passing the knowledge down, keep up the work! ♥️
Excellent lesson, thanks very much for sharing your knowlege. I have been looking for the setup. Easy to understand and conciese! And thanks your the thinkscript as well.
That’s just called scaling out. Just put the number you would like to take out, obviously it would be lower than the total position you had. Then the remainder will still be in leaving you with what you have left = what you’ve taken out - what you had in.
That would be the initial margin requirement. But its because you're technically controlling over 200,000 of the S&P 500 with that one contract, so they're incredibly leveraged. If you want to start smaller you could look at the micros, which are essentially just a 1/10th the size. /ES would be /MES, /NQ would be /MNQ, etc..
You'll need to add it to your platform. It's a custom script to display the tick size and tick value. I've got the link and script on my website here: shortthestrike.com/best-futures-thinkscript-for-thinkorswim/
Futures thinkscript: shortthestrike.com/best-futures-thinkscript-for-thinkorswim/

Very helpful video.

Great videos! I do not think the Tick value link is working. Perhaps due to platform shift to schwab?
That futures script comes in very handy. Thanks for sharing!
What is the future scrip called now? Because it’s no longer available in 2024
What is the future scrip called now in 2024 to see the futures value in pink? It’s no long called futures in the studies
how are the fees for futures on tos compared to other platforms?
For some reason this URL isn't accepted by TOS when I try to copy it into Open shared item
What if I bought 10 contracts and wanted to sell 5 and let 5 run...how can I do that on the active trader? Do you have a video for that?

what I am confused on is the cost per contract. They cost 11k? is there a cheap way to trade futures?

Crude oil, every penny move = $10. You did not explain how you knew that. Thanks : )
Seems he removed the script
The voice is insane let’s stop
futures have points (not dollars) and ticks, each worth a number of dollars
Thank you, bad ss
Sorry. I don't think your TOS script works anymore. Can you repost with a working one?
My Thinkorswim does not have a futures in the studies.
