You've explained this in the most simplistic way. Most videos are defining futures as if those already know what futures are with sophisticated words and phrases that nobody would know but expert traders lool

I love how you break things down super simple. That's really the ART of being able to teach concepts. I remember watching one of your videos around 6-7 years ago on an intro to stocks basically. You broke down what a stock is, what a share is, etc. You broke it down so simple, that i understood the first time i watched it. A 9 year old can understand simply because you have the gift of teaching! Thanks a ton.
I lost quite a bit this year when oil ended at negative 37.63, and I realised I should have understood the theory behind futures before taking the plunge. I have been through Class 1 and I look forward to the remainder 3. Thank you!

Very good job, dozens of others on UA-cam saying for beginners and it’s a complete waste of time, they don’t have the coherence to understand it’s really not useful to beginners and defeats the purpose of their video entirely. This gets to the true basics, no matter how simple, it builds the picture and you know for sure that you’ve understood at the lowest level and it gives you confidence to move forward.
8 minutes in and I had to stop and type this. when they say explain like you would to a 9 year-old this is what they're talking about. this is going to help so much. I'm already trading options and profiting but I couldn't wrap my head around futures. getting there now.

I watched all four parts to see if I was interested, now I'm rewatching them to take notes and ask you and myself questions that I hope to either research the answer or get from you or your community. The first question I have is What are strategies of hedging and how can I learn them most efficiently? My second question is do the value of contracts directly correlate with the change in spot price ( ex. if soot price goes up value of contracts goes up)? Finally, Which of the two broad markets that you mention come with less risk?
I just stumbled upon your videos. Your approach to explaining a complex subject is the best I have ever seen -- and I have sat through literally hundreds of hours of webinars and video trainings. I wish everyone training newbie traders would take the same approach: start with the simplest fundamentals so that the complicated concepts make sense later on. Been doing the interactive broker's modules which are extremely helpful, but they definetly are confusing topics to grasp as a newbie. Your videos aid in my understanding of these topics. Thank you!
I made my living as a professional futures trader [ proprietary trader for a large bank ] and the best advice i can give you is don't do it. 90% of small traders lose money. There is no way you can compete with people who do it 8 hours a day. It would be like challenging LeBron James to a game of 1 on 1. Even those who are lucky enough to make money pay for it psychologically. Studies have shown that the pain of losing money is 4 times greater than the joy of making money. The temptation of trying to make a lot of money quickly is strong. Best thing you can do is buy a stock index fund [or balanced index fund if your older] and grow your money slowly but consistently. This comment is not meant to be condescending but a caution against the temptation to make a quick buck against all odds.
Thanks for the thoughts. I'd agree with you BEFORE the creation of micro-futures, but now that they exist, that has made it possible for new traders to get started in much safer ways.

I made my living as a professional futures trader [ proprietary trader for a large bank ] and the best advice i can give you is don't do it. 90% of small traders lose money. There is no way you can compete with people who do it 8 hours a day. It would be like challenging LeBron James to a game of 1 on 1. Even those who are lucky enough to make money pay for it psychologically. Studies have shown that the pain of losing money is 4 times greater than the joy of making money. The temptation of trying to make a lot of money quickly is strong.
Best thing you can do is buy a stock index fund [or balanced index fund if your older] and grow your money slowly but consistently. This comment is not meant to be condescending but a caution against the temptation to make a quick buck against all odds.
Thanks for the thoughts. I'd agree with you BEFORE the creation of micro-futures, but now that they exist, that has made it possible for new traders to get started in much safer ways.

I'm just getting into day trading due to this Corona crap. I've had a Robinhood account for a few years & made a lil best egg with that, but I want to learn more. I said all that to say this...
