Good question. The benefit of this shot that will be helping you get the third shot at the front easier and faster as long as the shot is going straight down instead of up. Good question, thank you for bring it out
Thanks for the response coach! I look forward to your future videos. I guess a similar question would relate to your service video where you highlight the 4 corners but didn't mention serving into their body or the shoulder on their racket-side to jam their return. Perhaps in the future you can add these nuances in! Great job.
Hello coach! Thank you for another excellent video :) could you let me know if you plan on making a video for deceptive service returns and on when to use them?
This is simply the most easy to understand video on receiving. You guys can do the explanation part in a good manner. Hope to see more of your content.
How often should you hold the opposite grip and hit towards the opposing player's side? How often should you switch it up? Also to answer your question, the middle-area return is probably the best right?
And when you get the serve back who is responsible for which return? If you are serving a short serve you are responsible for all short returns? Even the ones going on the line on your partner side?
Great video! How about a video on how both partners should position themselves on the court when receiving a serve? I noticed in most international tournaments, that the other partner on the receiving team is positioned at the center of the court (not on the opposite box), while the one receiving the actual serve is near the net.
Hi, I'm a left hander, when I have to return from the right box, will I use forehand grip to return for spot 1, ,2, 3 and and bevel grip for spot 4, 5, 6? Am I correct?
Hey coach ! Awesome video. Can you please tell how you call the grip that you used for these returns ? It doesn't look like bevel, forehand or backhand grips.
from forehand side or backhand side? From forehand side would hold bevel, and backhand side would hold forehand grip. Good question. Thank you for watching
I hv the same question. Looks like you always step your non-racket foot forward when receiving low serve. What is the difference stepping racket vs non-racket foot forward when receiving? Also, is there a difference in our return strategy when opponent serves to different position (left, right, mid) on our service line? Tks.
Racket foot or non racket foot the difference are racket foot your return could be aggressive but slower back to ready for next shot and non racket foot is more faster to be able to get ready for next shot

Wait what, u r stepping out of the box to return serve... And my friends say that u can't go out of the box from front area to return serve...... Pls tell 🤔
The server and receiver must start in their own box before the serve. After the server’s racket contacts the shuttle and the shuttle is in the air, players can move and go anywhere. In the video, the receiver only moved immediately after the server’s hit, which is completely legal (and what I’m trying to learn).
Observe your opponent serve motion and catch the timing Then back foot needs to push forward reach your racket forward with your racket head up and connect with the shuttle by using your finger Hope that helps. Let me know if you have more question
That's great coach, personally placement 6 is my go to as alot of doubles players stand behind the server and often compensate their backhand by standing closer to position 3.
Thank you for the great video, editing etc.
Aloha Coach Al, well worth practicing. Easy points with minimal effort. Great way to get the jump on opponents. Thanks. Take care.
Bryan thank you for comment. Let me know how I can help you.
Thank you bro
This is amazing tutorial.
Thanks bro this video is so useful
Nice trick , thanks for the video , have fun a great day ahead ✌️
You too buddy. Happy New Year. Have the best ever badminton year for you
Thanks @AL Liao!!. What if the service comes over the head, can we still target the same spots?

Thank you. Glad you like it
Thanks Coach. May I know what racket and tension you are using please?
Hey coach, what about the flat return straight down the middle? What are the benefits of this shot and when should it be used?

the music and the guys face make it look like it's telling us this was how it used to be before the war happened
Great tips on service return, now if I can stop lifting the birdies. 👍🏻
Yeah. This 6 spots will helps you be more aggressive in your doubles game
Sigh meee too

Glad you love the video. We will create more content and coming soon
Thanks for the tips Al. Have not seen you in a long time since the Sunday evening dropins. Keep the vids coming!
Hi Ken,
My pleasure. Thank you for watching. Hopefully you get some tips and improve your games.
Some of the best badminton content on YT, shame he stopped creating. Hope he's doing well.
Nice tip
Thank you very much. Glad to hear that. ^^
Great video. Do you always use forehand to recieve when you are receiving in the left box and backhand when you receive in right box?
Hey Thomas, not always. Usually I hold bevel grip so it helps me to twist to forehand and backhand faster.
that background music hahaha
Can u explain the positions once we do this return? Where can we anticipate opponents return when we push them to their forehand?
great staff
I like the background music 🎶
Thank you
Can u please tell the name of the music?
Hi coach, I hv tried it but couldn't succeed. The shuttle going out. Where to hit the shuttle, pls tell me the hitting position n how to hit?
Really super

What if opponent serve at backhand.. How can we execute the shot number 4 5 and 6 ??
What you can do is to twist to backhand grip and you can return to those spot.
@@JahoBadmintonCA ok thank you sir

Don't drop the elbow, good subtle suggestion!

What is your shoe model?
Not necessary to be same feet and same arm forward for service return?

it really depends which spot i will hit. Esp i need to know my partner strength n weakness before i make a decision. Also, my opponent weakness..
Thank you for sharing Eugene ^^
that's subjective...he teaches the basic stuff which most of the regular player will hit...I use the same technique too just to be safe..
How to play if the service is not at T, and it served cross
Luar biasa

How to return short service when you are in the middle of the court ?
Observe your opponent serve motion and catch the timing
Then back foot needs to push forward
reach your racket forward with your racket head up
and connect with the shuttle by using your finger
Hope that helps.
Let me know if you have more question
@@JahoBadmintonCA thank you sir. Can i use this in doubles also ?
While returning the serve I always thought of dragging my right leg forward
Yeah. That is fine. As long as you would be able to come back and ready for the next shot. Thank you for sharing
bro this music is from an old english cigar comercial
