Refreshing to see an angler make so few false casts. Very nice watching.
Brings back memories fishing the river esk at the abbey dalkeith using a grey hen and rusty under the trees tight lines davie
Watching this man cast is like watching a masterclass in fly casting. Absolutely superb.
That’s so beautiful to see that other rolling in front of you! Excellent, it’s lovely when that kind of surprise happens.
Davie has fly tying superpowers!
Hello Davey. What a nice day on the water for you. Your fly patterns and casting truly make the catching look easy! And the fish seem to relax when you handle them to remove the hook as if choreographed. Very nicely done.
Another extremely entertaining video Davie. Some cracking brownies caught and great to see the Otter so close. Cheers 👍
OK not a lot of fish, but getting to see an otter is just a rare experience. I fish mostly smallmouth bass here in the U.S. and have seen a few mink but never an otter.
Thanks, Davie! 😊
Friendly greetings from my new fans from Indonesia 🙏😁
Thumbs up to this video and thumbs up to all four of the tying videos that you attached the links to in this menu. Thanks as always Davie!!!
Another wonderful video Sir! Thanks for sharing!
Superb movie,thank's Davie🙌🤙👍
See the otters alot on the upper doon, even saw one in the burn at dalmellington square
Great video Davie the river looked in good order thanks from Ireland
another nice walk in the country side to the fishing spot
👏👏👏 Show, Davie!!!
Excellent video afain davie thanks
Looks like you were using your #3 weight rod, I like using one for small dries because the lighter action casts easier. You proved that it handles large size fish last trip you used it.👍
superb
A joy to watch you. Your casting is so good - very often people false cast way too much. You lift off and lay the line down and out very quickly yet gently. The set up you have looks ideal for the smaller river. Would you be kind enough to tell me what the rod, line and reel are?
Hi @ObanandLornAnglingClub ,
I was using a Cadence 9ft 4wt which I bought with there reel to suit, I have attached a link to it for you to see, and they give the line with the rod which is amazing..I'm glad you enjoy the video..
All the very best Davie..

Another amazing video! Davie, is it common practise in Scotland to fish more across and down, rather than right upstream? Cheers
Hi Dave where do you source the ultra dry yarn...most places seem to put of stock of the basic colours.
Brilliant videos 👍
Your flies are the best Davie. Your fishing is good. Try going slower once you wade out. Let the area settle, the sediment from your foot travel wash away, and just watch for 5 or 10 minutes until the fish activity picks up again.
👍👍👍
An otter hissed at me one night for fishing beside it 😂
Great day! I assume that you were swinging wets at the last pool. What flies were you using?
Hi @rlwkirsch,

Привет Деви! А в реках Шотландии рыба голавль есть?
Hi @user-fm7dx7og6z, There's no Chub in the rivers in Scotland though you will find them in some rivers in England..
All the very best Davie
So is this public water anyone can fish?
Hi @1diggers1,
No most waters here in the UK you will need a permit to fish them, the one I fish is run by a small syndicate and I get a Friday on it..I also got permission from the owner to fish it on a Sunday..
All the very best Davie
@@DavieMcPhail That's what I suspected, well at least you have some access. I cherish the public land and water I have access to in the states.
