Davy, last week I watched a series of videos on UA-cam an American guy going through Whiting Farms capes and saddles etc. It was interesting. But during the video he told everyone how much Whitings had improved his tying. Then he said he was not a Davy Mcphail. he said, Davy can take a feather from his pillow, and make it look good!!!
Great tie Davie.I never thought about a boot for a shoulder.Junglecocks are hard to find here. This a great option, thank you.I’m going to do one now.this will be a great fly here in the creeks of Wyoming.
Excellent pattern, Davie. I recently expanded my biot selection to include several bright colors, so I may have to give a few of them a go. Have a fantastic day, my friend. Peace.
Hi Tim, I don't always wax the thread though I do when I need to control a stubborn material or when I need more grip especially when tying hackles and wings on..I'm glad you enjoy the videos and for following me.. All the very best Davie
Hi Anablak P, I just go by the Fulling Mill Super Heavyweight Grub Size 12, I have attached links to the hooks for you to see.. Dear Davie, I watch your videos for many a years. Although I’m still a beginner fly tyer. I would love to show you a fly where the hook broke and I can not find the right feather to tie it. Would this be possible? Greetings from Germany, Tim
Hi Comes a Horseman, It can be fished as a wet, emerger or even a dry especially when you are fishing it with a team of other flies with this being on the top dropper so when you are lifting it off or pulling it through the waves you can skate it across the surface especially when fishing in the lochs either from the bank of from a boat.. All the very best Davie
Hi Jackson's fly shop, It's a good all-round pattern as it could easy represent a few flies like caddis as well as lake olives and spring olives on the river so it would be certainly worth tying a few in different sizes to suit.. All the very best Davie
Very Nice Davie!
Thankyou for making this video.
Aloha🌴🏄♂🎣🐟

@@fishnshare I always said he could wrap a snake around a dead tree branch and it would look better than anything that came off my vise.

Davie hope you do not mind me asking but have you ever tied the Silver Grey Salmon fly
Великолепно 👍🤝🙋♂️
Now, a question...is this a wet fly or dry fly? Perhaps both, depending?
