At 13:20 in the video the narrator is talking about Brownsville. The video displayed is actually the riverwalk in San Antonio....quite a distance from Brownsville.
“Come & Take it”……reference to the 2 cannon nicknamed the “Twin Sisters” used at the Battle of San Jacinto. They had a flag with the slogan “Come & Take it”. The two cannons disappeared during the Civil War.
Actually one was melted down into a bell that is now in a church in san Antonio and the second cannon is at a museum in Gonzales Texas where you can see it today. not exactly a riveting museum, but the cannon is neat. A lot smaller than I expected in real life.
This phrase was allegedly made by the Spartans when the Persians told them that if they turned over their weapons, their lives would be spared. the Spartans reply was, "Molon Labe (or ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ)", Come and take (them).
I love my state, also when you described the come and take it flag by saying it has a cannon on it, it became apparent that not everyone is familiar with the flag, lol.
Got to stop you at @4:10, it's not used to keep the launch facility to melting, but also as sound suppression. You need to learn a bit more about BIG rockets and launches, about water sound suppression. It's to keep the rocket from vibrating itself into nothing.
Actually, the water sprayed while the rocket launches is used to suppress noise generated by its engines and keep the insane sound energy from damaging the rocket and launch mount. Fire suppression is just a little bonus here..
Just a note. The flag with the cannon which says “Come and take it” is a battle flag from the Alamo during Texas’s war for independence. It was designed as a direct response to general Santa Anna’s demand that the Texicans relinquish the cannon located in San Antonio to the Mexican Army. Many Texans still fly this flag in memory of those who fought and died for independence at the Alamo and as a way of keeping the unique Texan culture of brash and unadulterated independence alive. It serves a similar function to those Americans who fly the coiled rattlesnake flag which states “Don’t tread on me”. There is no reason to assume that the home owner referenced in this video flies this flag as a statement directed at Musk given the tens of thousands of Texans from all over the state who fly it or hang it in their homes and it is unkind at best, propaganda at worst, to imply such a thing.
You got the Alamo mixed up with another conflict. It's the Gonzales Flag actually. Santa Anna's men demanded the town of Gonzales to hand over the only cannon they had, which was crucial for defending themselves from raiders. Typical though, that their government became the raiders. Such is the case when power is centralized, like Lincoln or Santa Anna. The coiled snake is the Gadsden Flag.
Of note, the SpaceX Boca Chica launch site is about 2.75 degrees closer to the equator than the Cape Canaveral launch site in Florida. The closer to the equator the launch, the more Earth's spin helps the rocket achieve escape velocity if launched to the East.
Actually you have that wrong. SpaceX is hoping to have a single Starship launch up to 3 times a day. So that could be thousands of launches total per year for the whole fleet.
