- Ever thought "I'd really love to live on a railroad bridge, but I have no idea how to build there"?
No?! Well, I've done the thinking - and the work - for you! Here's everything you need to know to build an amazing bridge C.A.M.P. with NO floors, floating stairs, hidden wiring, and cozy loft - now with bonus drunk settler NPC!
The best part? The structure requires almost no Atomic Shop content (just use any doors you like, and skip the stairs and jump into the loft if you don't have the vault catwalks) and takes less than half an hour to build. You're welcome.
Love those kitchen counters/cabinets? Go say thanks to the inspiring redditor who inspired me! / heres_my_two_favorite_...

One of my first real camps was a "train on a bridge" there is a very long great Bridge near Charleston station with a large spot under for plants.
so cool! i've tried bridge building before, great scenery, did not think of the tent - thanks for sharing!
this is literally the best video ever! i just started a new character with my friends and stumbled upon this location as the perfect bridge troll house! can’t wait to use this to help me get the dang floating right!
I'm a new player and your videos have helped me a ton. Thank you! Hope to see you in game one day
Nicely done!
23:26 shots fired lol
you can also build on the next railroad bridge up towards morgantown as well..
you just need to put first the foundation on the burned scorch without making it turn into ash.
it does have the disadvantage of not being able to delete stuff once they're put down. it takes a while through trial and error to build without a need for deleting, but worth it 😁
Awesome build as always! Thanks for the inspiration. 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great build!! Definitely going to try this out. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you like it!
"I wish I had the glass walls." Sorry, just had to say it for the sake of saying it. ;) Love the build. Nice clean lines and the skylight was perfect.
I love it! Such a creative and well done idea.. and that npc is too much 😂💕
Haha thanks!
gosh im sooo love this type of camp, how i really wish you could built it for me 😭
There is another bridge like that along the railway track going slightly east from Charleston Station.
lol - man, was one of my best secret spots - no one builds here or knows about it :) great spot for a starter home or advanced camp.
I love your workarounds for the game engine limitations.
Haha thanks! If they won't give us fun, we'll just make it ourselves! 😆
Disappointed you didn't include "Creepy Murder Dungeon" anywhere in this video but other than that, another brilliant build!
I mean, I casually mentioned shooting my husband, but I'll try not to disappoint next time 😁
@@kikibplays Literally could be an entire ASMR video.
I'll keep that in mind if I ever get tired of making gaming videos 🤣
The only thing that could make this cooler is if we got a train car pre-fab that could be placed on the tracks.
definitely building one of these! as long as I get the damned materials for it!
Great build! Just came across your channel.. I have 4 camps in the game. My friends think I’m crazy because I usually rebuild at least 2 every few weeks.. I have a few floaters that I can’t move because of patch fixes.. 😆
Thanks! I hope you find some inspiration here and maybe even learn something new! I have the same thing, my partner and our teenager are always making teasing me for building all the time. I have 3 camp slots plus 3 custom worlds dedicated to building, so I'm ALWAYS working on something 😄
lol - the only thing i miss is that i can't build a 50 npc, 16 story hotel anymore like my fallout 4 game :p if you guys need wiring tips, i can help with wiring power grids and logic gates. lol - my 50 npc hotel had complete working power system for each room.
That's a pretty nice build.
Thank you!
@@kikibplays You're welcome. And as far as that "alcoholic NPC" he's at my Train Station camp, "Camp McClintock Station" just below Camp McClintock. He gets on my nerves A LOT! Me and few others have killed him because he's just so annoying! LOL I don't know why they made them talk randomly. They say the same things over and over and over. They shouldn't talk unless we interact with them. BTW, I really like your voice. Very pleasant. So nice and calming. =) Come by and check out my train station camp if you see it on. Might have to server hop of course to catch it.
I really like this build, always dig unique structures and locations. I waste so much time just scoping out good scenic locals to build on, and now having access to multiple camps doesn't help heh.
So i did borrow the design and built one of my own but got to an issue when it was safe to remove the foundations. I could only remove 4 before the dreaded warning that the structure won't be assessable. Following your video to a T, i couldn't figure out the issue so i had to destroy and start over. My second time trying to line up the foundations took me forever, my Building OCD didn't like the foundations being crooked along the bridge... go figure my first attempt got the placement nearly perfect and then i had to redo heh. Anyways, so i get to the foundation removal part and it worked without a hitch. Turns out the error was mine and the first time i tried double walling the two inside doorways so i could wallpaper the central room. Apparently it causes issues when you take the ground away. But now it's built and i've learn some new tricks: Who knew the flamethrower trap was so useful for building (i had to quickly advance the story to get the plans before starting the build), merging stuff into the cabinets is pretty spiffy (had to run out and find those plans... so much prep work!) and that pillar trick is very handy (i used some pillars to 'connect' one of the leg of the wooden foundation to the ground... i hate when they are floating, BOCD n all, but now i have solutions!).
I expanded a little underneath, wanted an easier way down than jumping or running around. Got some turrets facing the road bridge because that's the most annoying thing you'll deal with living here. While the majority of the attacks actually come at you from the railroad (heading from town), there will be the occasional bot, super mutie, or scorched that will take pock shots at your camp from that bridge down below.
Okay, that was a little long winded, but yeah, love the camp location so far... and sometimes the drunken company (hey free loot when he over stays his welcome... and you... um... ask him to leave.... with bullets... or fists). Also, i put a little plaque on the entrance... 'Design by Kiki B'.
I'm so happy to hear you learned some new tricks and got some nice new camp plans in the process! Building can be so tricky sometimes and it can be such a pain to figure out why something just won't work when it seems like it should, so good on you for sticking with it and figuring out how to fix it 😊 Also I'd never thought of using pillars as supports for wooden foundations - great idea that I will absolutely steal in the future! It should be fairly obvious from my videos that I have a really bad case of BOCD myself, so I can't stand when there are things like foundations that end above the ground... it just makes my skin crawl 😖 If you're on PS4, I'd love to stop by and check it out sometime!
@@kikibplays I built this on the PC version, although i do have a slew of characters on the PS4 where i originally started playing FO76. Got a new PC, figured i'd check out the game on the PC... and sadly have neglected my PS4 toons, poor guys and gals. Unfortunately armed with new building knowledge has me eyeballing all my old camps now... dun dun duuuun.
Poor little babies, all alone and neglected! Well hit me up if you hop back on the PS4 at some point, I always love to see new camps 🙂
Ohhhh what a fantastic location! I’ve got to give this a go. Thanks for the great content! I definitely learned something
Thank you, I'm so glad! Happy building!
I'm pretty sure that spot where you can't place things is because that's the spawn point for the friendly npc.
First comment! Looks awesome! It really looks like it is a part of the environment. Love it
Thank you!
@@kikibplays I would be interested in watching you build something "trick free" though as well :)
@@RyanNiemer that's a cool idea, I'll have to noodle on it and see what I can come up with!
I built my very first camp here 😁
Wow
Ahhhh...now I can place stuff under stairs and certain porches...I need to learn how to merge objects too.
I'm working on a merging video - how to do it, plus all my favorite merges!
@@kikibplays a more simple way to merge would be nice. lol - kinda tired of burning stuff (literally) to merge certain areas... especially if it's an expensive object or you keep making mistakes/bugs. ugh, i can't say how many times, i've stopped building, ran around the area killing everything for any materials it has.... soo many wood runs.... :D
It's simple to do and doesn't require destroying anything! This method lets you fill up shelves, make nice kitchens and do all kinds of cool stuff, really opens up a world of decorating possibilities. The video will be out sometime this week (I don't really have a set schedule for this stuff atm).
@@kikibplays lol - cannot wait :D burn, remove flame thrower, replace, rewire, burn... won't miss that :p
Just uploaded today, hope it helps!
I'm not a 76 player, I am quite content at this juncture to explore 4. But this gives me some wicked inspiration for things to try in my builds in that game. Thank you so much for making this and explaining what you are doing during it in a clear and easy to understand manner. New sub right here.
Thank you so much, I'm glad you were able to get some inspiration to take along to the Commonwealth!
could you use the chevron walls on this?
I'm not sure, that would definitely look cool though! The biggest problem you'd run into would be removing the foundations, but it would probably work if you destroyed the walls first with the flamethrower. Let me know how it goes if you try it!
i dont own the catwalk that you are using is there an alternitive?
There's not an alternative to place actual stairs, but you can stack certain stash boxes (like the footlocker) to make a staircase that you can walk right up. Or, if you have the marsupial mutation, you can just jump it.
Wait I’m so confused, in the video you’re using the flamethrower trap to delete the roof piece?
Sort of - it breaks the roof piece so you can overlap another piece over it, which makes the "floor" just the right length. After that you repair it and have two pieces overlapping by half a roof.
Lovely build I've tried building something I like on that bridge sooo many times. Was gonna suggest if u don't need power except lighting stash the prototype with a conduit attached to it into your glitched knee wall/roof area. Happy building or if Mr church reads this... bitchy building 😁😂
I can't do those walkways i don't have those i will have to subsitute with just stairs. How do you get those walkways?
They're an Atomic Shop thing, not currently in the store. You can always send in a support ticket on the Bethesda website asking to buy them. I think they were 500 atoms.
@@kikibplays I am using as a subsistute for now the big floor stairs.
Also where did you find the plans for the cabinet?
The ones I merged the workbenches into? That plan is just called "cabinets" and you can get it from robot vendors, though I forget which ones. Someone at the Whitespring will have it.
I ran into an issue with the stairs. I followed the instructions step by step (a lot of pausing the video, lol) but when the stairs lock in it states that they can't be place because selected item is floating. I play in PS4 does that make a difference?
I also play on PS4/5, so that isn't an issue. Did you make sure to remove the floors underneath first? That would probably give you the intersecting error, but I'm not sure off the top of my head. The only other thing I can think of is that something changed in the last update; this was built before the Night of the Moth update. I'll go see if I can figure it out.
Just gave it a try and I had no trouble snapping the stairs in place. Make sure that you have no floors underneath, and no walls (above or below) on the side where the stairs go. Other than those two things, I have no idea what might be causing an error. Wish I could help more than that, sorry!
@@kikibplays No, thank you that was very helpful. Great build by the way. Can't wait to see what you do next.
Happy to help!
@@kikibplays Just an update. I got it too work and with a bit of messing around, was able to add floors too. Thank you very much, this was exactly the type of build I was looking for!
Does anyone know if the floating stairs has been patched as of 6/23?
It has not.
@@kikibplays Thank you.
Where did you got this nice nures outfit?
You can find different colors of asylum worker uniforms in Fort Defiance, but they are rare. Sometimes you can get them from player vendors as well.
