I'm not a 76 player, but you inspired me to find a way to do this in Fallout 4. The terminal method works there, too, but I've substituted the Climbable Ladders mod for a terminal. I was watching you build this like "oh, I don't like under the world so much, I could just enjoy the main house and be fine" and then you showed it and yes it totally looked like the 70s basements with the pannelling on the wall and the the rumpus room vibes. I'm not sure I want to make one (I don't have the pieces from the shop), but it came out really cool.
Aww thanks! I didn't have a basement growing up, but I had friends who had basements just like this - we used to go down and play Super Mario and Duck Hunt (because I am a dinosaur 😁)

The glitch still works. I have built two camps with 2 stages below map. One is in whitespring near the personal entrance and this camp has a unique feature. On the roof of the second stage below is a whirlpool you can use and when you do this, you see everything that is upwards. It is very funny, when you greet players and they do not see you. xD
I like the workshop room. That’s about it. I really dig the modern mansion looking camp builds. I will incorporate the workshop room you have though. I like how clean it looks. Nice build!

howdy, if the item on the ladder is an issue, try using the welcome mat set. lay down the round one, then the tribal mat covering half of the round one. place any usable item, a ceilo, piona, shower, body scanner thingy, and place on top of the tribal mat. find a sink hole in your camp, and drop the shower or thing you chose, the round mat will float to surface, sinking the gadget. You can then oick up the round mat, and place IN YOUR CAMP BUILD on top of a wired floor, not a foundstion, you can change this later. the mat gives you heaps of room to be able to place floors onto the stair way you added earlier, which is also your way out. to go under ground just use the item you have sunk, because you left the very top of it showing - hope it helps!
i wish the atom shop would bring back glass walls, i have to use the log cabin walls to make an aquarium.... to make your fish float, place your power armour, the wall fish will place on that and floor ones on top of it, collect your armour, leaving the fish floating mid air
Yeah, I know so many people who missed out on the glass walls (end of season 1 scoreboard) and are really sad about it. I hope they'll bring them to the shop soon for everyone who didn't get them back then!
Heyy! Just wanted to say lovely build, so lovely in fact that I decided to build it myself :) The only thing I'm curious about is where in the hell you placed your c.a.m.p module lol. I don't know if I should've placed it down somewhere first when building ahead of time, but I can't seem to get anyone to spawn in the front of the build whatsoever. Any insight would be most appreciated!
They're always going to spawn a certain distance to the north/northeast of the module, so if your house is facing roughly south, it'll be very difficult to get them to spawn in front, unfortunately. I did a whole video on that (how that works has changed a little since, though). But when I had this camp, I always spawned behind the back yard and so did my visitors.
I spent 4 hours trying to do a modern home and the fireplace was crooked so I had to delete it and start over so I chose to do this one instead lol much better design
How do you get some many cool things for items!! The wallpaper, the decor.. just everything… I’m gonna have to spend a fortune trying to get all of this! 😩
Absolutely love this! I recreated and added an enclave bunker underground instead of the mcm basement. Definitely a fun build, thank you! Question though, where did you put the camp module for fast traveling?
Glad you liked it, the Enclave bunker is a great idea! I think I put the camp module near/in the little sandpit with the pushcart thing, but it's been quite a while so I can't remember for sure. You'll spawn about 5 or 6 floor tiles north by northeast (roughly) of the module, and I remember always spawning at the northwestern corner of the backyard.
Nice build. I don't fully understand the reason to use a flamer to destroy the roof to rebuild it. I will drop a new camp and check it after work today.
It's first and foremost to be able to create an inner corner between the perpendicular roof sections (wouldn't it be nice if Bethesda just gave us an inner corner piece?). It also allows you to layer in a flat roof underneath as a ceiling - covers up the weirdness of those intersecting roof pieces, gives you a place to hide the wiring, and just makes the build look a little more polished.

I don't like building below the map. Always seems kind of janky to me. But what you did here is a thing of beauty with the roofing, the basement...you went above and beyond. Also...where do you get the Wannamingo?
Great job on this build. I love it 😍. definitely gonna use the terminal on some of my underground building. it looks way more efficient than using the musical instruments. Thanks for the great ideas and sharing ur techniques. 👍🏼
If you fast travel to the Whitespring Golf Club, just head pretty much due south from the spawn point along that road (past the pool, down the hill). At the bottom of the hill you'll come to a junction with a bunch of cars; on the other side of the cars is this lovely stretch of smooth green goodness!
It should work anywhere, but is probably easiest to do in flatter spots. Can you tell me more specifically what part isn't working? That way I can do a little testing later and see what's up.
nice build my problem where can i get the flamethrower you used to destroy the walls and ceilings after i remove the roof and place the floors i cant get the roof to lock on thanks
Also, if you're looking for the flamethrower trap plan, you get it as a reward for completing the Coming To Fruition quest (Abbie's bunker, in the Mire).
hey kiki thanks for getting back with me i already had the flamethrower trap in turrets & traps .im having trouble with the roof on the conrners everything else about the build i have it down pack
@@CEDD913 try placing some walls down underneath where you need to place the roofs; you can remove them after. If it still gives you trouble, place a wall under the side and snap a top arch piece on top. Sometimes the roofs will snap on to a side wall when they won't snap to a roof or a front wall.
I've built this elsewhere as I'm making a spooky version but when I change the foundation's out for floors inside the grass from the floor all comes through. Is there a work round for this or will I have to find a flat spot and no grass or debris thay can come through?
What region are you building in? I haven't tried this build in different are, but maybe putting some furniture on the floor will get rid of it. I'll test a few methods tomorrow and see if I can come up with anything.
I wanted to try a basement build without glitching. I was able to do it using the topography. In my case it's a walk-out basement, but I think there are locations on the map where this could be done completely below ground level. Thanks for all the great videos! Hmm, it's really tough troubleshooting when I can't actually see it. Unfortunately I can't think of anything off the top of my head that would cause that issue.
@@kikibplays Small update: I solved it. Seems te type of floor was blocking it. I used core vault floor and that did not work but when you take the basic wood floor I can put a door and then later on switch the floor type. No clue why but I’m happy I got my doors :)
I did have to for Daphne's room, which was added on a couple weeks after I built it - I ended up removing all the foundations in the back and making them all upper floors. For some reason, the stairs to the basement are no longer attached to a foundation but the game allowed it... no clue why/how! I only realized what had happened long after I'd finished. The bathroom is under the sticky-outy bit in the front, so no floor changes were needed there, just an extension of the basement below. Hope that helps/makes sense!

@@Bennnnnnnnnnnnji it needs to be reasonably flat, but you could get by with some slope to the ground. Since the player is only about half a wall tall, as long as the ground doesn't slope down far enough that your head would stick up above it on the low end, it should work. If you do that, I'd suggest using a different wall for the basement than the house so it would look like a foundation sticking up above the ground - brick would probably work best, or double wall the basement and use the cinder block wallpaper on the outside (if you have it). It really depends on what kind of style you're aiming for.
I assumed most people know the location. Fast travel to the Whitespring golf club, and head due south down the road. It's at the end of the road, behind all the cars piled up at the junction.
Head south/downhill on the road that leads out of the Whitespring Golf Club parking lot and past the pool. You'll find this lovely flat stretch of green at the T-junction there.
Use two doorway walls - has to be barn, warehouse, metal, brick, or contemporary walls - and they'll snap back to back between two floor pieces. Then when you click to scrap or store, you'll also see an option to replace, and you can change them to whatever type you want.
The Whitespring golf course. Fast travel the the Golf Club, then head due south and downhill. You'll find this spot on the other side of a T-junction full of old cars.
I'm having some trouble placing a wall. It is in the area where the steps down to the basement are: 13:03 in the video. The left side just does not want to snap down. I can snap one side of the wall down but I can't snap another side. No errors, it just doesn't go green. Any ideas why I'm having such a hard time on this one?
Hmm, it's hard to say without being able to walk around in it. My best guess on the first one is that it's related to what walls are underneath it - you need to have a double wall under to be able to double on top. As for the second, I'm not sure, but perhaps it's a similar issue? Check if you have any walls directly below it; try removing any in the basement and then see if you're able to double wall. Hope my terrible guesses help 😅 If that doesn't work, if you're on PS4 I'd be happy to come take a look!
@@kikibplays I just managed to figure them both out...after destroying everything with a flametrap again...it was the foundations. Another one for you, how did you make that really cool kitchen counter? I tried my hand at making one but I can't figure out how you did it.
@@AstorReinhardt so glad you were able to fix it! Camp troubleshooting can be a real treat sometimes 🥴 For the counters, I used 3 rows of the Red Rocket bar pieces. The middle row is sandwiched in between a normal snapped together 'loop' of bar and corner pieces; I placed that middle row first, destroyed it with the flamethrower, and then placed the front/back/corners around it. I think there was also some firey destruction involved in the corner where the two sides meet, but it's been a while. You've given me the idea to do a video on various kitchen tips and tricks, so thank you!
@@kikibplays I figured it was the flamethrower but I couldn't get mine to work lol. I'll try again. Another issue I'm running into, which is just a slight annoyance, nothing big...is the basement seems to have invisible walls? I think the foundations have a bigger collision box then they should. I can't get up close to any of the walls that happen to have a foundation behind them (like where the patio would be). Did you also run into this? I tried making the basement the same dimensions as yours but damn if I can't figure out how you did the bathroom and kids room. There's foundations behind those walls for me and I can't take them out because they're the patio/porch ones.
The collision on the destroyed bar pieces may have changed - this was built before the last update so I can't say for sure. Also my memory sucks, so I may be mixed up as to the order I did things. I'll try some stuff out later and if I figure it out I'll make a short video. Foundations have invisible stairs on all four sides; you can actually walk up them, and also walk under them from the side (and even get stuck). It's super annoying. I don't remember if I said it in the video, probably not, but I ended up replacing all the patio foundations (front and back) with upper floors. You only need one foundation piece, attached to the basement stairs, to keep the entire structure afloat (and apparently I somehow managed to even remove that afterward, which I only realized much later. I honestly have no idea how that happened). Which brings us to the next part of your question, the extra rooms. The bathroom is underneath the front extension/living room, so that should already be floors and not foundations. The back patio had to be replaced, and if you're having trouble removing those foundations, first make sure that any walls touching them are doorways. If you have half walls touching the foundations, flamethrower or remove them. And last but not least, IIRC you can't remove the foundations if there are upper floors touching them (even though they're not actually attached to or dependent on the foundations), so if you still can't remove them, take away the adjacent floors and give it another try. Hope that helps! Love the questions, keep 'em coming! It's great brain exercise :)
You'll have to temporarily support the structure in a different spot, then move the stairs, then you can get rid of the temporary support block. Hope that makes sense.
You can put it literally anywhere, you just need stairs coming up from the basement and attached to a foundation. Then you should be able to remove the stairs you want to move, and place them again. After those are back in place and supported, you can remove the extra stairs.
I went and did some building and noticed that it's somehow become a lot harder to snap that first basement floor piece onto the stairs after you drop under the world. Is that the part you're having trouble with?
@@umbra_catervae not sure what to tell you other than that it works on all platforms, so you're probably missing a step somewhere. Go back through the steps again and double check everything, and if you still can't figure it out, maybe check out my Family Fallout Shelter video, I think that one's a bit clearer about explaining under the world builds.
The title of this tutorial is misleading. While the majority of the camp is nice, the camp does not have a real basement. All the builder did was glitch into the bottom of the map. I have in fact built a "real" basement in my camp which does not include the glitch method to access it.
That’s incredible, I wish Bethesda would bring out actual basement pieces that hollow out the floor so we don’t have to do tricks like this.

You can add flat roofs by placing a picture frame on the wall you’re placing the flat frog on

Some doors can be picky about where you place them. Try using the basic wooden door and changing it to another door after it's been snapped in place.

If you fast travel to the Whitespring Golf Club, just head pretty much due south from the spawn point along that road (past the pool, down the hill). At the bottom of the hill you'll come to a junction with a bunch of cars; on the other side of the cars is this lovely stretch of smooth green goodness!

I tried forever to do the basement trick, but didn't work. Is it only in some areas?
It should work anywhere, but is probably easiest to do in flatter spots. Can you tell me more specifically what part isn't working? That way I can do a little testing later and see what's up.
It won't let me to the rug trick with the terminal so I have to use the shelter door instead.

Also, if you're looking for the flamethrower trap plan, you get it as a reward for completing the Coming To Fruition quest (Abbie's bunker, in the Mire).
hey kiki thanks for getting back with me i already had the flamethrower trap in turrets & traps .im having trouble with the roof on the conrners everything else about the build i have it down pack
@@CEDD913 try placing some walls down underneath where you need to place the roofs; you can remove them after. If it still gives you trouble, place a wall under the side and snap a top arch piece on top. Sometimes the roofs will snap on to a side wall when they won't snap to a roof or a front wall.
I’m struggling to put the floors down because I can’t figure out how you moved them.
Do you mean putting the first basement floor in?
I've built this elsewhere as I'm making a spooky version but when I change the foundation's out for floors inside the grass from the floor all comes through. Is there a work round for this or will I have to find a flat spot and no grass or debris thay can come through?
What region are you building in? I haven't tried this build in different are, but maybe putting some furniture on the floor will get rid of it. I'll test a few methods tomorrow and see if I can come up with anything.
I wanted to try a basement build without glitching. I was able to do it using the topography. In my case it's a walk-out basement, but I think there are locations on the map where this could be done completely below ground level. Thanks for all the great videos! Hi there, love the build. Trying to create my very own basement and I have one little issue. No matter what I try I can’t place a door below the surface. It always says ‘cannot place item: Needs support’ any idea on how to fix that? Thank you
Hmm, it's really tough troubleshooting when I can't actually see it. Unfortunately I can't think of anything off the top of my head that would cause that issue.

@@kikibplays Small update: I solved it. Seems te type of floor was blocking it. I used core vault floor and that did not work but when you take the basic wood floor I can put a door and then later on switch the floor type. No clue why but I’m happy I got my doors :)

how did you do the kitchen counters? i love using them but i always have a big gap in the middle if i try to keep them lined up with the corner pieces
I used the flamethrower trap to destroy them before putting the overlapping row down. Not sure if that still works, though.

Can I just ask did you have to remove any of the front porch and back patio foundationa to put Daphne's room and the bathroom in?
I did have to for Daphne's room, which was added on a couple weeks after I built it - I ended up removing all the foundations in the back and making them all upper floors. For some reason, the stairs to the basement are no longer attached to a foundation but the game allowed it... no clue why/how! I only realized what had happened long after I'd finished.
The bathroom is under the sticky-outy bit in the front, so no floor changes were needed there, just an extension of the basement below. Hope that helps/makes sense!
@@kikibplays That's brilliant thank you! I did have another question. Was hoping to build something similar elsewhere. I'm assuming it has to be pretty much dead flat or would look almost like it's floating?
@@Bennnnnnnnnnnnji it needs to be reasonably flat, but you could get by with some slope to the ground. Since the player is only about half a wall tall, as long as the ground doesn't slope down far enough that your head would stick up above it on the low end, it should work.
If you do that, I'd suggest using a different wall for the basement than the house so it would look like a foundation sticking up above the ground - brick would probably work best, or double wall the basement and use the cinder block wallpaper on the outside (if you have it). It really depends on what kind of style you're aiming for.

I assumed most people know the location. Fast travel to the Whitespring golf club, and head due south down the road. It's at the end of the road, behind all the cars piled up at the junction.

Head south/downhill on the road that leads out of the Whitespring Golf Club parking lot and past the pool. You'll find this lovely flat stretch of green at the T-junction there.

How do you do the double walls?
Use two doorway walls - has to be barn, warehouse, metal, brick, or contemporary walls - and they'll snap back to back between two floor pieces. Then when you click to scrap or store, you'll also see an option to replace, and you can change them to whatever type you want.

I'm having some trouble placing a wall. It is in the area where the steps down to the basement are: 13:03 in the video. The left side just does not want to snap down. I can snap one side of the wall down but I can't snap another side. No errors, it just doesn't go green.
Any ideas why I'm having such a hard time on this one?
Hmm, it's hard to say without being able to walk around in it. My best guess on the first one is that it's related to what walls are underneath it - you need to have a double wall under to be able to double on top.
As for the second, I'm not sure, but perhaps it's a similar issue? Check if you have any walls directly below it; try removing any in the basement and then see if you're able to double wall.

@@kikibplays I just managed to figure them both out...after destroying everything with a flametrap again...it was the foundations.
Another one for you, how did you make that really cool kitchen counter? I tried my hand at making one but I can't figure out how you did it.

For the counters, I used 3 rows of the Red Rocket bar pieces. The middle row is sandwiched in between a normal snapped together 'loop' of bar and corner pieces; I placed that middle row first, destroyed it with the flamethrower, and then placed the front/back/corners around it. I think there was also some firey destruction involved in the corner where the two sides meet, but it's been a while. You've given me the idea to do a video on various kitchen tips and tricks, so thank you!

Another issue I'm running into, which is just a slight annoyance, nothing big...is the basement seems to have invisible walls? I think the foundations have a bigger collision box then they should. I can't get up close to any of the walls that happen to have a foundation behind them (like where the patio would be). Did you also run into this?
I tried making the basement the same dimensions as yours but damn if I can't figure out how you did the bathroom and kids room. There's foundations behind those walls for me and I can't take them out because they're the patio/porch ones.
The collision on the destroyed bar pieces may have changed - this was built before the last update so I can't say for sure. Also my memory sucks, so I may be mixed up as to the order I did things. I'll try some stuff out later and if I figure it out I'll make a short video.
Foundations have invisible stairs on all four sides; you can actually walk up them, and also walk under them from the side (and even get stuck). It's super annoying. I don't remember if I said it in the video, probably not, but I ended up replacing all the patio foundations (front and back) with upper floors. You only need one foundation piece, attached to the basement stairs, to keep the entire structure afloat (and apparently I somehow managed to even remove that afterward, which I only realized much later. I honestly have no idea how that happened).
Which brings us to the next part of your question, the extra rooms. The bathroom is underneath the front extension/living room, so that should already be floors and not foundations. The back patio had to be replaced, and if you're having trouble removing those foundations, first make sure that any walls touching them are doorways. If you have half walls touching the foundations, flamethrower or remove them. And last but not least, IIRC you can't remove the foundations if there are upper floors touching them (even though they're not actually attached to or dependent on the foundations), so if you still can't remove them, take away the adjacent floors and give it another try.

I’m having trouble moving the stairs to the other side how did you do it
You'll have to temporarily support the structure in a different spot, then move the stairs, then you can get rid of the temporary support block. Hope that makes sense.

Sorry, it's really hard to say what the issue is when I can't see it.
Where did you put the temporary support block
You can put it literally anywhere, you just need stairs coming up from the basement and attached to a foundation. Then you should be able to remove the stairs you want to move, and place them again. After those are back in place and supported, you can remove the extra stairs.
I tried it again step by step and still didnt work

I went and did some building and noticed that it's somehow become a lot harder to snap that first basement floor piece onto the stairs after you drop under the world. Is that the part you're having trouble with?

Go back through the steps again and double check everything, and if you still can't figure it out, maybe check out my Family Fallout Shelter video, I think that one's a bit clearer about explaining under the world builds.

I've never heard of anyone getting banned for anything like it. Bethesda loves us doing creative stuff with our camps, it's what keeps the game going.

How nice and specific!
The title of this tutorial is misleading. While the majority of the camp is nice, the camp does not have a real basement. All the builder did was glitch into the bottom of the map. I have in fact built a "real" basement in my camp which does not include the glitch method to access it.
