I like the raptor lights better in the amber color myself but you're right. The purist would say your ride isn't wide enough for you to need them. However, as running lights, anything to make your truck more visible to oncoming traffic is a plus.
The only way for Raptor lights to look good are in amber IMO. I got the smoked amber and love em! Another inexpensive mod is sequential blinker side mirror replacements to remove the chrome and upgrade stock to higher LED and better look in the sequential pattern. Keep up the great work Chloe! Come back to Albuquerque again and visit the new Walter White and Jesse Pinkman statues lol!

I can highly recommend the seat jackers, so much more comfortable, I also added the fire extinguisher mount while I was at it. Also replaced the tweeters with the Subaru tweeter. Its unbelievable how cheap the tweeter and door speakers were on my 2018 TRD, they looks like 1950's vintage!

The door speakers are interesting for sure. Full range "whizzer cone" style 6x9 drivers with neodymium magnets. Whizzer cone full-range drivers usually have high db/W sensitivity, probably why Toyota decided to go with them. Louder on less wattage. They're inherently "lo-fi" though, and suffer from serious midrange distortion when pushed hard. Fun fact: Whizzer cone full-ranges have recently regained popularity in the Japanese home hi-fi scene, usually housed in TQWT transmission line enclosures. The OEM dash drivers put out very little sound, crossed somewhere above 5khz with a 2.2uf capacitor- really only there to produce 8khz+ at a low volume. Most of the power is pushed to the front door speakers in the OEM setup.
Just bought a used 2019 4x4 SR in magnetic gray metallic with 58 K on the odometer and I love it. The cheap add-ons I got from Amazon I've liked the best (in order of preference) were: a gas cap holder for the inside of the fuel tank door so the stupid gas cap didn't have to dangle from the cord onto the side of the truck whenever I'm filling up the tank, a center console accessory organizer tray that sits over the storage compartment, a set of those cheap plastic car seat caddies that used to be an "As sold on TV" item that keep stuff from falling into the crack between the seat and the center console (I hate when it does that!), a set of seat belt buckle extenders for the front and rear seats along with blocky silicone seatbelt buckle holders to make them easy to find, and finally a 'Homeon Wheels' large foldable aluminum step stool to help people get into the raised cab with a modicum of dignity for when I need to give the seriously old or 'height challenged' a ride somewhere. I also ordered some 'Luckyman' seat covers as the original light gray cloth seats were showing noticeable signs of wear, but I would say they were a bit more than a 'cheap' add-on. They look pretty good and were easy to install. I've also ordered the glove box divider you showed but I'm waiting to put it in until I get the cabin air filter changed.

I drive a quicksand 2020 taco and I colour matched (with spray paint) the light grey interior dashboard, centre console, door window controls. It turned out surprisingly amazing using just spray paint and it was incredibly easy taking apart the dash and everything, maybe a days worth of work.
Covers are nice, I think the steering emblem in black would complement the look. The tweeters did sound much better. Raptor lights are a personnel choice, think the amber might look better.
I have the same vent rings on my 2021 Off Road but in red. Definitely makes the interior look better with a small pop of color. I've had them installed for a year now and haven't had any issues with the tape coming off, even with high Texas heat.
I just bought my first Tacoma, it’s a 2021 and it came with 1 xhorse smartkey that I wanted to replace the shell of find a cool alloy/leather case for. Have you done any videos on smartkey stuff?
The blackout for the chrome on the vents look good. I like the Raptor lights, and I might put them on my 2011, but definitely amber. I think the amber might have been more appealing for you. Glove box organizer is a good idea. You make the tweeter swop out look really easy!
@@charleysanti from what I remember, yes. The piller cover has to come off. The speaker cover either lips under the piller cover or there are a couple of set screws to the speaker cover that can't be accessed until the piller cover is off. It's easy to remove though. If I recall correctly, it's just 2 - 6mm (thread) bolts in the assist grip that hold the cover down and it just pops off
I’m with you on the wanna be raptor lights. People want raptor lights - get a freaking raptor! The chrome delete rings is a great idea, but I personally would have gone with a matte black. The tweeters & organizer are definite wins, as well. Good video!
Tundra has them, so does ram. They are simply a legal thing if your truck is 80” or wider. So not really raptor lights, but wide vehicle lights. And yes they look goofy on small trucks.

I installed the same raptor lights and like the look a lot, the LED white is slightly off the factor lights but that's ok in my books. I'm a big fan of chrome delete/blackout products, mostly because the time of day and direction that I'm usually driving in. The sun always seems to hit the chrome in my truck at just the right spot to try and blind me lol
looks like you got the same glove box organizer I did. I use the large compartment for my owners manual and my documentation (registration and proof of insurance) with a wright in rain notepad and pen in the upper left smaller compartment, and other assorted odds and ends in the lower compartments.
The RPTOR lights looked awesome on your truck and I have to say that was n excellent install. I usually purchase functional equipment for my automobiles and as far as the metal letter inlays, would the peel off paint keep them from rusting? You spent money n the rings, use them until they fall off. Excellent content!
So many people have problems with scratching plastics just cleaning them, like the dash cluster and buy specialty items that aren't that great..forgetting what's actually used for a hundred years or more for optical glass, even NASA still uses Ostrich feather dusters as they are the finest and leave zero lint and never scratch anything ever..any professional camera person or anyone that works around high end optical glass will confirm..
Don't use stickers, just my opinion. It's really easy to change out the chrome to covers in your choice of color. Check out Meso Customs! They have high quality rings and even provide a video of the install that's very easy to replicate.

The raptor lights didn’t look too bad, I definitely prefer this type of lighting over a light strip which I think looks stupid, are they functional as far as increasing visibility at night, or basically just Christmas tree lights? Im not good with lack of instructions, wiring and changing fuses doesn’t sound kosher to me. Was going to do the tweeter upgrade but bit the bullet and did the OEM Audio (non JBL) speaker upgrade...WOW...night and day difference. Didn't do the amp offer...just straight speaker replacements and that is more than emough for massively better sound in my truck.

I put the vent rings in black and the glove box organizer in my 2022 TRD Sport and I also added the middle compartment tray. I thought about raptor lights but decided against. My next add/upgrade is going to be the speakers.

Raptor lights are pretty cheese. If real lighting is in your budget or on your needs list, you’re better off adding a light bar or two behind the grille. I’m running the SDHQ behind grille twin light bar mount, so I have a 30” amber light bar aiming where the raptor lights would be and a 30” white light bar under the Toyota emblem(2020 honeycomb grille). I’m powering my lighting with a SwitchPros 9100, and this allows me to dim the light bars incrementally. If I want the raptor light look, I can just run the amber bar on its dimmest setting or I can run it(or both light bars) @ full power for massive light output.

I also installed my kicker tweeter had to do a little more on instal an are working great, I payd a little more for the tweeters plus a filtering system an a clip on harness, all good thank you for the tips. Amazon has a feature called "garage" where you can specify your make, model and year. When you look at an item, it will tell you if it fits you selection. If you have multi able cars trucks you can add those as well. Save making ordering more efficient.
Not sure if I missed an episode of yours. Do you have e a sprint booster for Tacoma throttle lag. Look it up made the truck completely different with appropriate throttle response.

Even the smallest and cheapest upgrade to the factory stereo and speakers will be far better than what Toyota puts in them. The speakers and head unit are terrible! And the rapper style grill lights have been used for years with many different vehicles so they don’t look to bad I like them, but I’m not crazy about them at the same time lol I have the same glove box Organizer and yeah you lose space, but you also don’t have to dig through it to find things anymore because everything has its own little warm cubby 😆 And I’d for sure stick with the black vent rings because black will always be cooler than chrome! 😎👍
Never enough mods ! Re rings: That's what's nice about the utility package - you don't have to worry about chrome.... Tweeters: if you go to Crutchfield and put in model info, they give you a Garage Research report - select speakers, then speaker location. For the dash they show 41 tweeter prices and reviews - for example: Kenwood $59; Alpine $89; Morel Elate Carbon Alto $908. Also, they give you instructions - for example, on the Alpine: Installation notes: o You'll need a hole-saw drill bit for this installation, so you can flush-mount the tweeter into the bracket included with your order. o Location = Corners of the Dash o Use the factory speaker grilles.
Is there a special tool you use to remove bulbs the one that is above your head by the crawl control. I can't seem to plug those bulbs out no finger room
I have an 02 tacoma and put an aftermarket grill with raptor lights, I decided on the smoke whith ember lighting to obstruct the led headlights, turned out nice... does your watch have a compass?
So your sensor cluster is behind your logo? I got the TRDpro grill on my truck when I bought it (previous owner had installed it) so I had not given it much through and just assumed it belonged below the logo. I wonder if it is due to the different grill styles or the change between the older and newer model years (I am 2018 as opposed to your 2019)
A couple things. 1st the map led upgrade is much easier if ya just pop the whole unit down. 2nd the license plate led upgrade. Force the brackets out. If you have big hands like me :)
some of the things you choose were nice some not so much. I'm kinda in agreement with you on getting raptor lights, no point as the truck isn't that wide. The vent rings I went with AJT designs vent rings. Of course they require a lot more work to install and the look is unique and you love it like me or you don't. Meso Customs also makes a great option for vent rings with a different look. The ones you got are fine for the price and easy install. The glove box organizer is a must I had gotten even before my truck came in. The Tweeters you picked I'm not sure about that brand. I'm like to know how they sound and last. I picked the Genuine Subaru by Kicker tweeters over two years ago and they have been great. They were $99 in September 2020 so they're a bit more expensive. Good video, Always enjoy your videos and especially get a lot out of your maintenance videos.
Something that would be super cool, is a way to put the 2020+ front power seats in the 2019 and down 3rd gen tacomas. Can you look into this mod? It has to be doable with the right parts and a wire harness.

I’ve had my Amber raptor lights for 2 years. I like the look. It was my second mod after the raptor grill

Weather tec liners are awsome got them for my car was going to get maybe the husky ones but everyone loves the weather tec ones i see why now

Was going to do the tweeter upgrade but bit the bullet and did the OEM Audio (non JBL) speaker upgrade...WOW...night and day difference. Didn't do the amp offer...just straight speaker replacements and that is more than emough for massively better sound in my truck.
I'm gonna do the same thing like you just haven't had a chance with hit and run on the truck and trying to get a apartment at the same time

I put the vent rings in black and the glove box organizer in my 2022 TRD Sport and I also added the middle compartment tray. I thought about raptor lights but decided against. My next add/upgrade is going to be the speakers.

Raptor lights are pretty cheese. If real lighting is in your budget or on your needs list, you’re better off adding a light bar or two behind the grille. I’m running the SDHQ behind grille twin light bar mount, so I have a 30” amber light bar aiming where the raptor lights would be and a 30” white light bar under the Toyota emblem(2020 honeycomb grille). I’m powering my lighting with a SwitchPros 9100, and this allows me to dim the light bars incrementally. If I want the raptor light look, I can just run the amber bar on its dimmest setting or I can run it(or both light bars) @ full power for massive light output.
I liked the Raptor lights, but i think you're right, the amber ones or a different color may be better. Still, good video overall.

I also installed my kicker tweeter had to do a little more on instal an are working great, I payd a little more for the tweeters plus a filtering system an a clip on harness, all good thank you for the tips. I know it seems like everyone has raptor lights, but it also seems like everyone is driving a Tacoma. I'm thinking about getting some. I think the white lights go well with your silver truck.
Amazon has a feature called "garage" where you can specify your make, model and year. When you look at an item, it will tell you if it fits you selection. If you have multi able cars trucks you can add those as well. Save making ordering more efficient.
Not sure if I missed an episode of yours. Do you have e a sprint booster for Tacoma throttle lag. Look it up made the truck completely different with appropriate throttle response.
Keep the manual in the shop, saves a lot of space. How often have you really reached for the Manuel?

What are your thoughts about bedrug? I have one for my 3rd gen and granted I run a camper shell with the bedrug. But maybe you would dig it too? Its a synthetic carpet made of plastic fibers. Its a lifesaver for hauling surfboards and camping. Cheers! Sick mitches T-shirt btw!!!
Would love to see how much can be stuffed inside the decked system. I have a family of 5 and have been considering to buy a decked system but I'm worried I'm going to lose a lot of space in my ZR2.🙂
Even the smallest and cheapest upgrade to the factory stereo and speakers will be far better than what Toyota puts in them.
The speakers and head unit are terrible!
And the rapper style grill lights have been used for years with many different vehicles so they don’t look to bad

I have the same glove box Organizer and yeah you lose space, but you also don’t have to dig through it to find things anymore because everything has its own little warm cubby 😆
And I’d for sure stick with the black vent rings because black will always be cooler than chrome! 😎👍

Re rings: That's what's nice about the utility package - you don't have to worry about chrome....
Tweeters: if you go to Crutchfield and put in model info, they give you a Garage Research report - select speakers, then speaker location. For the dash they show 41 tweeter prices and reviews - for example: Kenwood $59; Alpine $89; Morel Elate Carbon Alto $908.
Also, they give you instructions - for example, on the Alpine:
Installation notes:
o You'll need a hole-saw drill bit for this installation, so you can flush-mount the tweeter into the bracket included with your order.
o Location = Corners of the Dash
o Use the factory speaker grilles.

Chloe upgrade your sounds with OEM reference 500. It’s the best upgrade I’ve ever had on my Tacoma. I paired it with the Stinger head unit.

Is there a special tool you use to remove bulbs the one that is above your head by the crawl control. I can't seem to plug those bulbs out no finger room
I have an 02 tacoma and put an aftermarket grill with raptor lights, I decided on the smoke whith ember lighting to obstruct the led headlights, turned out nice... does your watch have a compass?
So your sensor cluster is behind your logo? I got the TRDpro grill on my truck when I bought it (previous owner had installed it) so I had not given it much through and just assumed it belonged below the logo. I wonder if it is due to the different grill styles or the change between the older and newer model years (I am 2018 as opposed to your 2019)
A couple things. 1st the map led upgrade is much easier if ya just pop the whole unit down. 2nd the license plate led upgrade. Force the brackets out. If you have big hands like me :)

I'm kinda in agreement with you on getting raptor lights, no point as the truck isn't that wide.
The vent rings I went with AJT designs vent rings. Of course they require a lot more work to install and the look is unique and you love it like me or you don't. Meso Customs also makes a great option for vent rings with a different look. The ones you got are fine for the price and easy install.
The glove box organizer is a must I had gotten even before my truck came in.
The Tweeters you picked I'm not sure about that brand. I'm like to know how they sound and last. I picked the Genuine Subaru by Kicker tweeters over two years ago and they have been great. They were $99 in September 2020 so they're a bit more expensive.

Something that would be super cool, is a way to put the 2020+ front power seats in the 2019 and down 3rd gen tacomas. Can you look into this mod? It has to be doable with the right parts and a wire harness.
