I can tell just by the way she held her gaze that she is a mental patient, in the way she looked around when she was in the courtroom in that wheel chair, that woman had no idea where she was or why she was there. They have a unit at San Quentin SP that is called the “Adjustment Center”. I’ll bet the Florida State Prison has its own version and I’ll bet it is beyond harsh. I once sent a guy on a bus ride from hell where he was mistakenly transferred from one prison to another for 2 weeks. He never saw a bed or a hot meal the whole time. If you think cops in prison are mean just wait till you piss off a lifer convict clerk. And she is definitely going to piss off some convicts.
This story is very sad all the way around from every angle. Not only Joleen Cummings was lost but the family’s lives shattered. This is including the killer’s life as well. So many lives affected by one person’s actions. Hopefully one day Kessler might confess or someone out there may find Cummings’ remains to bring closure to the family and friends.

@Denise Bendickson They won't put her in GP right away, at least. a) She's high-profile, b) there are psychiatric concerns, and c) frequently when someone gets a long sentence like that they'll keep them under close supervision for a few months/weeks to make sure she's not going to try to kill herself. She certainly won't immediately be placed into GP, if at all.
