can't really see myself subscribing. Good build but, last time i checked "bushcraft" don't really include nails..........did you find a bushcraft nail tree?
Dude, I don't care which tools or materials you used. You're outside doing what you love to do and that's what matters. You put out your video to give us a taste of what is possible in the great outdoors. Thank you for that! And to you so called purists and critical bozos, you had to start somewhere. Please be kind.
GREAT JOB ! I like the way you did the roof , it will stop the sparks. I think i would plant something that's easy to maintain and provide a natural camo and plant some trees for more concealment. Try planting some type of food that will attract game. Now get out the hand auger and drill you a water well. Again GREAT JOB ! Hand salute from a Vet.
Thank you very much! In the next video I will show how I start to make the garden around the shelter and more necessary things! I will take the advice into account, I really have problems with the water there, I'll see if I can do something at least to begin with to retain the rainwater!
Always wanted to do this out near a fishing spot near a river. I’m sobering up for the first time in years.. I’m 10 days in and need ways to keep my mind occupied.. might fill my bag up with hand tools and get on the bike and start tomorrow! Good video lots of hard work. Keep it up
Hello! It is very difficult to build a cabin or a shelter! As you say, a lot of wood is crooked and you have to use everything that nature gives you. Because that's what we're looking for in all the films we make, to get as close as possible to mother nature. Thanks so much for watching!
One thing I would mention is that it is always better to have the chimney stack a few-to-several feet above the highest point of the roof. It prevents, or at least, reduces down drafts, or down pressure, from the chimney. If one looks across any community, you will notice four-to-five feet of brickwork above the peak of the roof. That is on purpose.
Yes, I have seen when the wind blows a little wind in the shelter. I can add a bigger piece to the chimney. It's a useful tip. Thanks so much for watching!
There's a world of difference between the requirements and "standard building codes" for a chimney in a domestic building versus in a survival shelter. I didn't see any other raised chimney stacks in that "community", madsen.
The tool you have made for hammering should always be kept with you it is possible that in the coming time this tool will be auctioned at a particular place. 😜 great idia ❣️ keep going stronger
Thank you! I took precautions and built a fence around it. In my second video filmed there you can see it, but I don't mind a goat or two as long as they can "trim" the grass.
@@barrcamp I have a cousin that has goats and they love to climb on anything they can and I just didn’t want them to ruin what you built just looking out for you!🥸
Recommend you add a vestibule to a design like this. Extend the roof ridgepole a foot or two past where you want to put your front wall and build the roof out so that your doorway is at least a little sheltered.
Not sure which bit of bushcraft uses a big bag of 6 inch nails but a decent hut. Given the background noise with a cockerel crowing and dogs barking you're not far from habitation.
Hello! The metal nails I used to build stronger and faster. In the future, if I can, I want to build in a classic style, only with wood. The shelter is built in a private area next to a farm.Thank you very much for following me, you give me the courage to continue
The "shelter" is nice, no doubt about that. Where did you get the roofing material? Did you bring it with you, Or is there a Home Depot near by? Just curious.........
Thanks so much for watching! I used building material for good insulation. I want to use it longer and put plants and grass on the roof. You will see in the next clips!
Yes, it's not very Bushcraft to use nails. But it was because of the construction time at the shelter.. In the future I will only use wood! Thanks a lot for watching and comment.
You’re obviously on private property…. Which means you can do whatever you want with whatever tools you have! Ignore the armchair critics on here who are likely watching your video lying in their recliner eating Cheetos and Iced tea!!!

Wow, another UA-cam channel where there's no talking! We definitely need more of those, because we don't have enough to choose from!
Thanks so much for watching
I’ve watched many shelters being built on UA-cam. I have to say that if I’m building one if it’s going to be one just like this. Great built!
Thanks so much for watching! It is a good solution for cold weather shelter and not very difficult to build.

Thanks so much for watching! The construction of the shelter took two days. And there is still work to be done on it
Great shelter, what material did you use on the roof? What country are you in?
I used a material that is used to protect concrete in the ground. A light and durable material at the same time! I am from Romania!

Gracias por verlo! En el segundo video que le puse el Sabado es donde construio la purta!
is this your land ?
Yes. Is an former orchard that my father used for plum trees
What type of material for the roof?
I would expect hand tools to be the order of the day. Bringing in a dozer or backhoe would pretty well nix the whole Bushcraft narrative. 😏
Great
Thank you very much!
If there is heavy rain, being downslope, won't your shelter be vulnerable to flooding?
Hello! In the next clip I dug protective trenches in case of a heavier rain. I hope you watch it I will publish it soon!
Awesome shelter.
What material did you use to cover roof ?
It is a material for waterproofing. it is used in the construction of houses in the foundation
@Barr camp Thank you looks very durable.
Hopefully I can find it here locally.
@@natehufnagel1431 Yes, it is not very resistant to shocks or punctures, but it has great resistance covered with earth
