      But idle going high while stopped at a light after engine has warmed up is unusual. You might have to clean the Throttle Body and MAF (mass airflow sensor) I have video on those as well

      Yeah up to 2006, GS300 had GDI (gas direct injection) which is prone to carbon build up in intake valves. Starting in 2007 GS350, they have dual (direct and port) injections, so there is not intake valve carbon build up. Not sure if GS430 had dual injection also. Other than the GDI carbon build up issue, this has been a very reliable car for me.

      06 GS300 is GDI engine, so it‘s prone to carbon build up. But 07 350 is dual injection, so the carbon build up will be much slower. I wouldn’t worry about it until it get close 200k miles on your car.

      @@user-nu6ro6fu1x To be honest, 80% of time I also use regular gas. However, I add few ounces of fuel injector cleaner every 1K miles just before fill up. When carbo builds up, you’ll notice sluggish acceleration and poor fuel economy. You can also try using Seafoam spray every 10K miles through the intake and that’ll remove some carbon in intake and piston heads. At 150K, if you haven’t, it’s due for spark plug change. Only use exact OEM. The most I worry about is not having done transmission fluid change. I’m at 119K miles, so I’ll be doing this in the spring.

      Well, i never knew you were born in KOREA.(Native speaker i guess)
      Actually i served in U.S. ARMY in Korea as a Katusa soldier long-time ago
      Now 25 years has passed with no use of foreign language
      So i'm poor at English that could not understand everything you told me. But with google translation got it almost.
      Before i got the car, the X-onwer had
      100K package repaired like plugs and waterpump parts.
      I also use gumout and inject cleaners for engine fluid burns.
      Those transmission and differential fluids were changed a few months ago.
      Alternator was rebuilt too in January
      I heard start-motor and compressor would be the next.
      Hope i could drive this car 100k miles more with good conditions.
      Gs460 is my wish in the future too!

    Some of the manifold bolts stripped on me... used speed out bolt extractors. And clips broke on me too... never had that much problems with clips.

    • @DIYLifeSkills
      @DIYLifeSkills  6 місяців тому +1

      On many cars regardless of brand, it seems those plastic connector locking clips become fragile after about 10 years. I think it’s combination plastic material degrading and the clip locking area becomes bit stuck with debris and bit of water and oil vapors to form bit of barrier like if it was glued.
      Same goes for rubber hoses, often they become so hard and they do not flex as much and becomes rigid like plastic.

    • @DIYLifeSkills
      @DIYLifeSkills  6 місяців тому +1

      For small bolts, I try to loosen them first manually and then use power tool, because if I use power tool first, sometimes it tends to strip the bolt. For big bolts, they hold up better to power tools.

    What's up bro I've been meaning to ask you on your video with the ballast replacement what was the actual ballast you used I may have missed it in the video...i do remember you stating the screw holes were a lil off...

    • @DIYLifeSkills
      @DIYLifeSkills  2 роки тому

      I had to return the cheap after market one because it didn’t fit, so I still have the original ballast. It turns out the problem was my HID bulb. The HID light always came on when I start the car, and then it would go on and off as I drive. So I thought the bulb was good and it was the ballast, but in reality it was the bulb that was going out. Apparently, HID bulb just doesn’t go out suddenly. It deteriorates like this. You can see the picture of the salt inside the HID bulb bulging in the video. After I replaced the bulb with the matching OEM one, light stays on all the time and doesn’t flicker on and off now.

    • @DIYLifeSkills
      @DIYLifeSkills  2 роки тому

      Also I’ve read many having trouble with the cheap after market ballast going out within a year. If you must replace it, I would go with used OEM one from a later model year, but before you do that, test the bulb. It’s more likely the bulb is going out.
      What symptoms are you experiencing?

    Absolutely detailed. I just finished one. And it’s completely the same. Just want to know the name of the two wire sensor on the back of the lower intake manifold.. went to Lexus of Torrance. And the department could not identify the part. I still was able to get a new connector for $15. But it’s listed simply as. “Housing”. No pins included.. so I’ll have to remove the old ones. Those boxes are from local Costco in Houston. :-)
      BTW, I’ve been using Lucas fuel injector cleaner on all my cars for many years and so far I’ve not had any fuel injector issue. I usually buy the gallon jug from Walmart cause it’s cheaper that way, and put it gas tank before fill-up every few months.

      Ahh, makes sense. I happen to live near that farm. lol Thanks for the reply. I usually use Techron or Lucas, but I just bought the car with the preexisting issue.
