FAQ:
What program are you using to draw?
I used clip studio paint to make my overlay and use it for all of my digital art as well as my thumbnails
What program do you use to stream?
I use streamlabs to stream on youtube.
What size did you use for your stream overlay?
1280x720
What dimensions are your characters in the corner of your videos?
They are 800x700 and take up a big chunk of the screen when I ad them to videos but I always shrink them down and place them in the corner. After I have a good spot I copy the position they are in and paste them onto all the other expressions. That way they all line up!

I was drawing a game overlay yesterday and now i found this video. You've got solid advice here, very nicely :D
I personally like to draw the overlay but i keep a basic pair of boxes to give the idea of where the screen and cam will be. The rest is just me drawing my character in the style of the game pasted on a background that displays the world of the game i'm playing.
What do you think of that?

So, you had some amazing tips in there about what to include or have in an overlay, but aside from showing yourself making the overlay, you really didn’t explain HOW to make an overlay, which was what I came here for. Good video, just a tad misleading title.
What is the program you use for the creating progress?
Yes, I want hear more about set ups (and tools to use)! where do I find them? I don't understand what you say here, too fast for me. Please?

How did you figure out the dimensions to make the windows fit on stream? Or was it just trial an error?
Stream labs let's me bend and stretch what I put in the boxes so I honestly just eyeballed it. But if you figure out the size of what screen you'll be sharing and want it exact you can make a separate canvas and fill the square with a color then copy and paste it onto the overlay and scale it down if needed.
I'm not sure if that made sense at all. Lol

How do i use a 2D moving avatar instead of the usual 3D vtube style avatar on stream? Just like how it is for you in this video. Is that possible during live stream?

how did you make your character?
Hi! For your UA-cam video, the way you have a moving png, is this also done using stream labs? How do you do that?
Are you asking how I have my character transparent in my videos or my livestreams?
For livestreams: I made a live 2d character and used a green screen filter (but it's actually against a pink background)
For videos: I have a whole folder of transparent png character expressions and I edit them into my videos. I use Adobe premiere pro but as long as your editing program allows you to use transparent PNG's then you should be able to do it too.

I stream in Twitch, testing my Fox cartoon voice but no views nor followers since started the voice. No one looking at my art either. I still have much to try with streaming. I learned some stuff here I'll try it out soon.
