QUESTION: What about on an A/V Receiver? I have an Onkyo A/V Receiver. There is a front HDMI port I use for my laptop. I recently stepped on the long HDMI cable. I literally heard a noise as it was gradually moved out of the port with force. After that, it still worked; however, it was very loose and wiggly. Prior to that, it was a very firm and tight fit. I wouldn't be able to open this A/V Receiver the way you opened up your Graphics Card. What suggestion do you have for my situation?
Tbh, if it is still working ok but just loose I would leave it alone. If it is intermittent then you could try this. There is always a possibility that the HDMI port got torn from the actual PCB. Depends how much force was put on it. Normally, they are anchored to the PCB with solder but I have seen them come off the board in some cases. Good luck.

Yo i had this problem, i have hdmi to vga and cable was loose, like my monitor would turn off in middle od nothing and i would go and move cable place stick to hold it and it worked, it like turned off once every day and i would just move it and it would work again, untill yesterday, same thing happened i went to move the cable but nothing, i moved cable 1000 times like it doesnt work, cant really do this thing you did with youe gfx because i must replace so much pieces of gfx its so risky for me, i was moving cable and monitor turned on 2 times but when i moved my hand one milimmeter it just turned off again idk what to do..
Hi, If you cant get to the HDMI port on the gfx card then make sure it isn't the other end of the cable. The only other thing I can suggest is spraying contact cleaner/surgical spirit/isopropyl alcohol into the hdmi socket. If you can't spray it in then just soak a Q-Tip in it and drip it in there (obviously when it is off lol). That may help if the contacts have oxidized. Good luck.
