- How do you know if you need to have your PS5 HDMI port replaced? When you plug in your PS5 and power it on, the pulsing white light and blue, but nothing is showing on your TV screen. It is one of the most common repairs for PS5. The HDMI port at the back of your console is, unfortunately, a weak point for your console. It usually gets damaged by forcing the HDMI cable in, knocking your console over, or by pure wear damage over time.

I can't say what Hot air rework station and Soldering iron he uses, but I can definitely say for sure he's using 95% or higher Isopropyl alcohol or its sometimes sold as rubbing alcohol. Best thing to use to clean electronics if you need to!

I have not to date opened a PS5 and found that hdmi port fitted.
My ps5 hdmi cable and port get really hot (almost to hot to hold) when playing graphic intensive games, it's been like that since the day I bought it, is that supposed to happen or is there something wrong with it
Make sure your are using the good quality 4k hdmi cable. I suggest you change the cable

@@xFixRepairsUK why not just use the solder gun anyways instead of heating many unrelated components with that air causing all sorts of issues

I had to get my tracer board placed today cost me $140.
If you have the skill and ability to do the replacement you may as well do it once you've got the ps5 tore down. Plus some of the pins on the original may be weakened after moving around while it was lose so you might just save a future headache

I’ve had my ps5 for a few months now and it’s started going fuzzy and sometimes won’t work but if I move it around it eventually comes back on would Sony fix it for me if I send it off then guys ??
If there isn't any sign of physical damage you can send it to sony for warranty and they will fix it for free, otherwise they will charge you £250 for out of warranty repair.

sultan30arl I have never heard about coding the HDMI port! Probably it hasn't been soldered properly and they are going to resolder it.

Can you do a video where if your Hdmi cord gets stuck in your playstation and when you pull it out the tip of your cord is ripped out and tell me a way to fix it
You have to retrace the points where the cords connect with solder wire.
Also you should never pull on it, you only guide it out. I actually heat it upside down so it just falls out on its own.

Oh man... They didn't use hole through connections for it? No wonder they pop out of place if you blink within 4 rooms of it! My early (1 or 2 months after release) unit was plugged in and placed on the entertainment center top and not moved, yet had to go back ro Sony 4 times for video problems. HDMI port all 4 times.

Who breaks an HDMI port? this looks like a job you would bring it in for or replace the board entirely. Ive watched take these things apart many times and I keep thinking that its plastic at $599 instead of metal at $1799
5 years ago you could purchase something made out of metal for $3000-4000+ but if you go through your warp gate you can get these for $599 but its made out plastic.

My son tripped over the charger in front which made my ps5 start to fall. I caught it in mid fall probably 4 inches from the ground. And the hdmi cord didn't even come out but the game won't display on my TV. Ik it's the hdmi port cause it's gotta to a point where I don't even use my TV remote when I come home. I grab my ps5 controller hit the button in the middle and the tv automatically goes to whatever input I have the ps5 in. The tv is telling where I placed the hdmi core at but the ps5 isn't displaying anymore on my tv. This happen yesterday been almost 24hours I'm going crazy. Help someone

Why does anyone in the comments think Sony is going to cover a broken HDMI port under warranty... physical damage in any way to any part of any device in general will almost always never be covered by any warranty provided by a manufacturer. If you're paying for a warranty that does cover physical damage, you're either getting ripped off or scammed or both.
But IF its physical damage that happened by Just unpluging the cable, How in the world they would ge excused from getting it fixed or giving You a Brand New console?
I never dropped my PS5 ever. I have unplugged the HDMI PS4 cable countless times, even with some force out of frustration due to not turnning it on (Power break problem), and It never had any problem with HDMI Port whatsoever. Sometimes things can be fragile to have such damage and Its not always consumers blame.
@@humbleman9 by unplugging and plugging the cable in properly the port isn't just going to magically break. Using force or bending it once it's plugged in may break it though.
