Great amplifiers, I have 2 XD700/5v2's in my car, 1 for each side of the car. Each running a 10w3v3-2, C5 tweet and C5-400 midrange, and rear channels bridged to a Dynaudio midbass. Twk-88 controls it all, with a separate DAC for 24/96k high res files from my phone using the digital coax input and factory radio for cds, radio, & satellite in the analog inputs. In a 2013 Subaru Legacy. Not a bit of space consumed,, amps & processor under seats and subs in spare tire well.
I just purchased XD600/1v2 to replace a Rockford Prime 500.1. I needed more power for a 4 Ohm JL 12W3. I have the RD500.1 in my womans car on a HO 110W3v3-2. Jl makes good clean sounding amplifiers worth the money!!
I just bought the XD 800/8. Hasn't came in the mail yet but after watching this video i am even more exited to get it. I only have 3 sets of components (C2's) and a pair of C2 6x9 3-way. Iam gonna need double that to make this amp run at full power on all 8 channels. I love JL Audio for over 10 years, and would love even more to Represent them in Helping sell their new Marine Audio lineup in Saskatchewan. We have Some of the best fishing in Canada, and a lot of people who have boats and just love to be out on the lake.
Got one in each of my 4 cars. Sound fantastic & they don't get hot. Replaced massive amps which were complete crap, all ran very hot and would cut off. They all failed within 6 months
The xd 200v2 fits perfectly where my old oem amplifier comes from. Can I use the same 16 awg wire that was powering the oem amplifier with 20 Amps to safely power this unit?
I'll be getting the JL 700/5v2. I know that it has two sets of outputs for the sub which internally will see a 2 ohm load if I plug the woofers in individually, however, I have already wired my woofers in parallel at the woofers themselves, does this mean that I now have to rearrange the wiring at the woofer and separate them or can I simply keep the existing wiring as it is and just use one set of positive and negative terminals as though there is only one set at the amp? It's just to avoid the extra work like taking off the panels to undo the wiring. If that is the case, which set of terminals do I need to use on the amp, the two outward ones or the two in the centre? Thanks
Hello Shakeel, Your assessment about the subwoofer output channel is correct. You can connect the speaker lead from your 4 ohm subwoofers (parallel wired to a 2 ohm load) to a single positive and negative output terminal at the amplifier. It does not matter which two output terminals you choose. You can use the two outer terminals, two middle terminals, or one inner and one outer terminal. Sincerely,
The JL C2 can handle up to 90 watts rms @ 4 ohms, and the more expensive JL C5 can handle up to 112.5 watts rms @ 4 ohms. Is there a noticeable difference in SQ between the C5 vs C2 if powered by the same amp limited to 75 watts rms @ 4 ohms?
Running my W6 with a single xd600/1v2, my question is (and I’m going to sound like a noob) is it easy to add a second w6 with another xd600/1v2 and have them run completely in sync?
Our sincere apologies for the delayed response. This would defiinitely be a question better suited for our tech team. To put it simply - yes. It would be fairly easy to add an additional subwoofer. It would take some additional wiring but it can be done in a relatively short amount of time. And yes - the audio between both subwoofers would match. Our tech team can additional any further questions in depth. You can reach out to them here: jlaudio.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
I understand I don't need a line output converter for this amplifier but I already have one but a cheap one, will it make a difference if I put the xd-clraic2-sw? Also, does this amp do what the audio control lc2i do like reverse the factory bass roll off? I'm not sure if my 14 sierra does that.. thanks in advance
@eric, if your factory voltage is at or below 8 volts at 3/4 volume then you would not need a converter. If the voltage is higher than 8 volts at 3/4 volume you would need a converter. It will not hurt to use the LC2i if you wish to use it for the bass restoration feature.
Hi can anyone tell me JL a4300 amp Where is the fuse located?the amplifier does not light up when plugged in, so I wanted to check if it has an internal fuse.Thank you for all the information

Hi, I Recently picked a up a JL Audio xd600/1 amp and looking to run it full power to a JL Audio HO110-W6v3 10" H.O.Wedge. What fuse ampage would you suggest I use in line with this amp. Any advice would very helpful. Thanks
Hello. The XD600/1 amplifier has a recommended fuse value of 50A. If it's the only amplifier in the system, use a 50A fuse in-line with the power cable a few inches from the positive battery terminal.
so i have a 2015 honda accord that i want this to go into mainly because in the past my amps drain my battery and dim my headlights. My understanding is that these amps help with this with its new technology. is this true? also I'm very torn about what how to get rca inputs in and you mentioned just splicing the rear speakers with that simple two rca connectors. does that mean one of my speakers will no longer have sound? will my factory 160 watt signal be enough to run any amp or sub system ok? and lastly, if i do the signal mode to turn it on, does that mean i will only need to connect the positive and ground and NO remote cable? thanks for the video!
@Farooq Waraich, the internals are fairly similar between the XD v1 and v2 with the exception of the added turn on features and extended input signal voltage range switch.
Hello I recently purchased a 2018 Tacoma TRD Pro and wanted to add a fuller sound. Nothing to crazy like I have always done lol. I was thinking a 700/5 with a tw3. I’m keeping my stock head unit and speakers so would that 700/5 work good for the setup ? And last question would I need to add a jl audio clean sweep DSP?
Hello. The 300 watts from the sub channel of the XD700/5v2 amplifier is a great match for the TW3-D4 subwoofer. The CL441dsp Cleansweep has been discontinued, but our current OEM integration processor, the FiX 86, would be a good option. It will level match the individual factory signals, correct any delay, sum the signals, and correct any equalization to provide full range, flat outputs for the XD amplifier.
Do these accept differential balanced inputs like the RD line up? I'm looking to use my Premium Sound Head unit from Honda for now. I'm upgrading my sound system, and I want to start with a great SQ amp. Much appreciated...
Hello. Yes. The XDv2 amplifiers also have differential-balanced inputs. Additionally, the Input Voltage switch changes the input voltage range from 200 mV - 2 V RMS in the Low setting to 800 mV - 8 V RMS in the High setting.
@@JLAudioInc I am considering purchasing this after all the good things I have heard about it. My question is, in order for it to accept a 5V pre-amp from my Pioneer 80prs, do I need to keep the voltage switch on low or high?

I'm interested in the XD1000/1v2 for 2x 10W3V3 subs, but I'm on a 12 volt system, according to the specs that amp will put out 800 watts at 2 ohms, but not 1000 unless I'm, on 14.4v, which i'm not. Would that amp be acceptable for these subs or do I need to step up to an HD1200/1? Considering its almost twice the price, I'd prefer to not go higher than the XD line.
Hello Matt, the XD1000/1v2 would be perfect for a pair of 10W3v3's. Our amps are conservatively rated, so I would expect you to still have the full 1000 watts even at 12.5 volts. You can probably expect a bit more with higher voltage. it would be a great match .
if you push over 1000 watts you are just half assing your system on 12 v... like why bother go big without doing it to the fullest and get 2 yellow tops and a big 3? (I would only upgrade to an aftermarket HO alternator if I was over 2000 watts)
I have the XD500v2 running a set of Polk components and a 12" Kicker sub.Could I use the main channels bridged on another sub at 4ohms?Would it sound off because one sub is receiving 300 watts@2ohms and the other 200watts@4ohms? Basically using it as strictly a bass amp.
JLAudioInc Woofers only.Polks would be on another amp altogether. So XD500 would be running 2 channels of strictly bass. But one side at 4 ohm and other at 2 ohms.Would the mismatch of power and impedance cause issues with tuning?
John, Technically it can be done, but the response could create issues. You would need to shut off all the filters and adjust the input sensitivity to try an match the output for each woofer. I wouldn't recommend doing so though.
John, just to follow up and give you a bit more information on this, the XD500/3v2 can be used in the configuration you're describing, but we suggest against it. As a rule, we recommend not using different subwoofer models in a single vehicle unless they are being used to play different frequencies altogether. The responses from both woofers playing the same frequency range can be slightly different because of the power and impedance change between the two, which could cause cancellation. Since you already have the 2 ohm woofer in the vehicle, I'd recommend against adding another woofer on that particular amplifier.
high quality equipment. problem is your biggest mono block is small. why only 1200.1? 2nd problem is your subs have 1.5 or 3 ohm coils.... if i want a decently loud system using jl im going to have 6-8 amps opposed to 2-3 amps if i go with a different company
Cody Hodgson dude JL is a horrible under rater. We have clamped over 2000 watts at 4ohm at 12.4volts on my HD1200/1 that equivalent to a non regulated Korean 5k. You don't loose power if you have impedance rise like with unregulated amps. Trust me I have 2 HD1200/1 on 2 13w7's and it's all you can stand and at 3/4 volume sounds magnificent.
Cody Hodgson oh and it don't matter about the ohm load cause the second you put power to it the impedance changes. And you can still wire low or high like any other sub. 3 12w6's can be wired to a 1ohm load but will probably rise as much as 4ohm but unlike unregulated surf board amps that claim 6k watts your JL amp will still be giving you tones of power. And also JL isn't a spl brand anyways although they can get loud they tend to lean more towards sound quality and there damn good at it. I have a spl setup in my other car and yes it's louder 2 DC audio lvl 4 12's but it doesn't have near the sq of my all JL system. And it also took a hell of a lot more power and wire to support the unregulated DC 2k's. But I will say they both do exactly what I wanted them to do although I would like a little more output from the JL's and more sq from the DC but like anything cars it's all a trade off can't have it all.
Thanks for the question. With a power handling rating of 200-500 watts RMS each, and a final impedance of 1.5ohms when wired together in a parallel configuration I would recommend any of our HD or SlashV3 mono block subwoofer amplifiers.
