i have had this amp for like 7yrs now paired with two 6.5 coaxial in dash two 6x9 triaxial in doors and two more 6x9 tri in rear panels and a sub box with two 12s in back all speakers and the XD700/5 AMP are JL Audio with a JVC head unit. ya they might be a little pricey but i tell you this system will suprise you it just fuckin kicks ass. oh ya its in a 2006 dodge grand caravan and im 55yrs now and will continue to fuckin rock out. but i think with that much air space inside a minivan helps makes sound better. this little amp is between rear side panel never had any heat issues...IT FUCKIN ROCKES
I wish JL Audio update this video, there is a new version for 2014 line. XD700/5v2. Even though the information is "some what the same" but eliborate what's new on the "v2" version.
One question Steve. Yesterday I had this excellent amp installed in tandem with the AudioControl LCQ 1. the idea was to create neutral RCA inputs for the amp. It works pretty well but I'm definitely getting hiss / noise if I turn up the gains on that unit. I noticed your amp works fine by simply splicing the speaker wires from the original equipment head unit and making them RCA's. Do you recommend this method how will I lose signal input and overall quality?
@Willie Murphy, you can bridge the four main channels down to 2 for 200 watts by 2. Then on the subwoofer channel you can power a 2 ohm subwoofer system at 300 watts.
Try reaching out to your local authorized JL Audio dealers - some of them may have product demos available. You can find our online dealer locator here: www.jlaudio.com/dealers
Here's the direct quote from JL Audio's manual and you should download it for further information. SUBWOOFER OUTPUTS The XD700/5v2’s single subwoofer channel is designed to deliver power into subwoofer loads equal to or greater than 2 ohms. It is rated for 300W into 2 ohms, 250W into 3 ohms and 200W into 4 ohms (Continuous Power, RMS Method).

Does that mean you can hook it up to factory stereo with no line output converters?
So can you bridge it for the total 700 watts ?

Is the sub channel bridge able ?
Sub channel is mono on the 700/5, so it is not bridge able. We add dual connections to make it easier to parallel two drivers.
Where’s the demo !
