Alexa is currently enrolled in my life drawing class at the School of Visual Arts. I think her drawing skill is top notch. Her sketchbook is so much fun to look through. Enjoy this one, a sketchbook like this does not come around often.
I love these videos! whenever I get art block, I watch a few and it helps! and I love seeing all the different styles
I wonder if your students realise how amazing their talent is and how many people get to see it because of this channel. I'm from the Netherlands and I bet there are people watching from many other countries aswell. Keep the channel going!

The short answer is the col-erase is fun. Yes the pencil acts completely different than normal graphite. It smudges less.
Aside from that, if I may interject, using colored pencil also help the drawing stand out more if you decide to go over it in ink or pencil and you can tweak the drawing a bit because the lines are lighter than with a normal pencil. Col-Erase pencils are twice as awesome because normal color pencils don't erase, so you kinda get the best of both worlds! :3

She reminds of Dana. Her drawing and style is similar in a way. Not only that, she and her voice and a lot more has a big resemblance with Dana.
Watching these videos, and seeing just how much these people draw, annoys me greatly. I love drawing, but I just..can't think of things to draw. I draw maybe once a week at most, just because I lack ideas.
Also I like the idea of using lookbook for practice reference. Checked out the site and there's a lot of good stuff there you could draw for practice.
I polish off about a sketchbook a month, but some people take a year or more to finish theirs and are way better than me (my dad for example)... How much you draw shouldn't be important as long as you enjoy it!

I used to have the same problem. I found it easier to draw things out of my imagination after drawing a ton of reference photos.

What brand is the sketchbook
From what I seen the majority of the students use the Canson Field Sketchbook, because it has the cover and comes either hardbound or spiral.
samusai .aka IsTheMedia I've seen a few use the Moleskine sketchbooks too.
That's true. But it looks like the canson one in this video that they are using since I thought I saw the logo imprint on the back of it.

Of course a lot of them draw similar to each other. A lot of them are in the same classes, with the same teachers. And from the looks of it in these videos, they tend to hang out with each other a lot, and look at each other's art. Hang around the same artists for long enough, you're going to pick things up from them.
They're friends. If an artist see qualities in someone else's art that they like, they tend to emulate it and add it to their style.

I feel like artists see the world in a very intense way, as compared to a normal person. I don't mean that negatively, but we draw inspiration from everyday things that could be as simple as visiting the park or putting our hair up in a new way and personally I think that's beautiful.
