I subscribed as soon as you mentioned the difference between “a singular personal hardship and centuries of grief and trauma”. I thought, okay, this is someone I want to hear more from. I also enjoyed your video about Lorelei’s house. Both lighthearted and clever, and also thoughtful and insightful.
it was so interesting & stimulating to see a commentary online about this show which is not about its romantic angles, ships, fan edits, & so on. As a film enthusiast myself & as someone who loves reading the backstory & history of places &people, I found that angle in your video really intriguing. So glad I found your channel through the Gilmore Girls videos. Also, I would love to know your thoughts on Season 3 of this movie, because A LOT happens in that from a historical & plot point of view!
you do a great job of making informative content that makes me laugh out loud. the cut to that clip of john b is priceless. just found your channel a few days ago and every vid ive seen of yours is a banger! looking forward to more and to ur thoughts on season 3!!!
I lived on the OBX for 19 yrs. I challenge anyone to find a Plantation lol. Over 20 years ago There was a story line on the soap 'All My Children that had to with some of the actors getting ready to go down to the OBX on the train. Trains don't go to the OBX....not even close. Alligators? Please. I could go on but I won't. Cracks me up
I haven't seen this show but I enjoy your explanation of it! I agree that understanding local history is important. I've tried to do my own research on my home county. It's a lot of work when the communities are small and not as well-documented! But still very cool.
Yes! It can be so hard to find in smaller communities! Wishing you lots of luck, I like to start with houses and landmarks that look cool and then start googling and checking archives from there.
I watched it all and tried to connect. These kids' characters are by far the most stupid people on the planet. I've never run across anyone thats made so many bad decisions.

Thank you for subscribing! Always trying to find the middle ground between fun and thoughtful

I loved this. Wished it was longer
“As someone who makes up for a history degree with passion.” I mean, I have a Bachelors in history. I wasn’t gonna get a masters or a PhD. 😂
i saw one or two bad reviews of this show but because of you now i want to check it out :D
I’m not Gullah, but allot of my friends are! I’m from the Low country, SC. It was awesome to see.
This makes me feel a lot better about my niece watching this show. Honestly from the bits I've seen I just thought it was another lame teen drama.
I wish I was multitudes, so you would make the season 3 video...😢

Does the 'b' in John B stand for big?
Does JJ stand for John J?
