EXACTLY and the possible relationship in S3 with two black characters. I am so excited. In so many (teen) shows and movies they usually pair up the black person with a white person (not that I have anything against that cuz I'm also mixed lol) but I just love that we're finally getting a hopefully beautiful relationship between two black people. There's really some chemistry there so I hope they don't fuck it up by rushing it
I feel like the show needs to relax with the amount of realtionships in the show and focus on strengthening their friendships before we bring more relationships with their drama into it
Rafe is such an interesting character, he gives me Campbell vibes from the society. An unpopular opinion I have tho is that I hope he doesn’t get a redemption arc, cause that wouldn’t make any sense with his character . I hope he does get psychological help though, that would lead to really interesting scenes.
i really don't want them to throw redemption at anyone and everyone - there is a limit and at a certain point it cheapens the character itself and their complexity. also it depends on what we mean by 'redemption' - making them one of the good guys in the end or realise they're bad? number one would work for topper, number two for rafe imo. obviously we can empathise with a part of rafe because he's mentally ill, everyone neglects him and his dad is an enabler and crazy person... but that still doesn't erase that he murdered a person and almost murdered his own sister. i think a satisfying end to his arc would be to either sacrifice himself for someone (maybe wheezie?) or what i'd personally prefer maybe offing ward himself (i know that's unlikely and sounds grim but i feel like it would be poetic justice and kind of his last big moment before being locked up).

But then again, no one really ever dies in obx so I’d also love the idea of him just going to prison for killing ward and the last scene we see of him is just him smiling bc he’s somehow found peace ? something like that
@@guerdynerodriguez2845 They probably won't, honestly if he was gonna die the circumstances of season 2 was the way, but now he's probably THE fan favorite, at this point more people root for him, the villain than they do the pogs LOL people REALLY love rafe, the only one they like almost as much as rafe is jj, and it's because his character is the most interesting. Not to mention he has a strong actor, Rafe carries every scene and everytime he's on screen you know a good scene is happening. I can say I honestly cared more about where his development was going than most of the pog characters this season
For a bunch of teenagers, I was surprised that they barely used their phones. They didn’t take pictures/videos of the Gold for evidence, they didn’t take pictures/videos of the Cross, they didn’t take pictures/videos of the whole ward and Gavin argument. Like bruh wtf were phones invented for 😕

i think my biggest issue was that every damn character almost died and then just didn't? like why did we need JJs almost death? it did nothing for the plot? pope almost died twice (cross falling and then allergic reaction?) like that didn't need to happen, there were other ways to get them to leave the church so people could steal the cross; Kiara almost drowned from the sewers, sarah got shot and then was fine half an episode later? john B almost dies every episode (what was the point of the alligator other than sparking JJs monologue?). like the fake deaths are one thing but i was getting so sick of the almost deaths from these 16 year olds that have no impact on the rest of the season? i wanna see some baggage from this in the next season? like john b went through it! and then watching Sarah almost die? that's gotta have consequences on him? all of these kids went through so much and seem fine about it?
and like how they all just walk off all their injuries??? like JB was running after that croc tussle and Sarah was just fine hobbling n running right after getting shot and surgery???

yeah I feel like they haven't had a second to breath so they never really had time to process anything that's happened. I hope that now that theyre on the island alone they will finally start to realize the impact of what just happened. I could see how JJs almost death was a way to show how much he cares for his friends and also bring JJ and kie closer together...But the pope stuff really bothered me. Like they only made the cross fall so that there was a cliff hanger. And allergic reaction?? Really??? And somehow the gator thing just made me laugh
to be fair about the emotional baggage stuff tho they're kids and are definitely traumatized and just haven't had time to process or deal with any of it yet, a lot of people don't deal with trauma in the moment and some even wait years to actually process it bc it hurts so much. the therapy they need is IMMEASURABLE
I actually found the Kie drowning part substantial, because that was the one of the moments where rafe decided that nothing matter and nobody mattered but what he wanted. The rest though, I totally agree.
No fr if they had just recorded ONE conservation with sarahs dad or brother or when rafe and his lil bgur dealer friend were about to KILL THEM, there would have been no reason for 2/3s of the show Which makes me so mad i skipped from seasons 2 ep 4 to the very end and they were still going in this loop ab her dad doing something illegal and getting away w it.
i feel like pope got super invested in the treasure for his family because he wanted to make up for all the trouble he caused failing to get the gold with his friends. its pretty justified but bro was NOT messing with the brain cells lmaooo
I think Barry is actually a very decently portrayed character, but I fully expected him to turn Rafe in because they'd shown time n time again that Barry does anythinggg for money but also for self preservation.
My favorite part about season 2 was honestly the character Cleo. Granted she started out as a antagonist, she ended up really having John B and Sarah's back numerous times and ended up becoming a really good character. I'm so glad that she officially joined the pogue (I hope I spelled that right) group in the season finale. I also feel like the finale hinted that she and Pope could potentially be a couple in season 3, which I would absolutely love to see. 💯
I’m actually excited about Cleo and Pope because the last time them writers tried to put the two black people together it did not work, but this time I have hope😭
Its better if they're just friends because say if jj and kiara get together that means everyones a couple in the group and would just be filled realtionship drama and it won't have that same feel in the beginning how they were all just really good friends if jj and kiara do become a couple next season i hope it isn't forced and rushed out like it can develop slowly because i feel bad that everyone kept shipping kiara and jj so much to the point where they even shipped the actors and attacked their partners because of it so it would probably be pretty awkward for them

The way everyone was acting a fool this season. Surprisingly, Barry (the drug dealer) was actually one of my favorites. Along with Cleo, they stole every scene they were in!
Kiara shouting "murderer" when her and the group were recording Ward and the pilot's interaction was the stupidest thing I have ever seen. They literally had proof to free John. B and her dumbass messed it up. I was so mad at her but I guess if they were able to free him that fast, the season wouldn't have been very long.
Yeah I was mad at her but then I realised that if they freed him that fast the season would go to shit afterwards as there was barely any plot left because u know everyone woulda been safe

I did appreciate those scenes of rafe admitting he has a problem and needs help, it was always so sad to see him get rejected by his father but also I don't really want a full redemption arc since i don't think thats possible

I've heard this theory that John B's bandana is the same fabric as the one Carla was looking for in the Santo Domingo cross. Like it's supposed to have regenerative properties (Carla wanted it to cure her degenerative disease) and that's why John B survived the fall. He used it to stop the bleeding on Sarah's bullet wound as well as his alligator bite and both healed very quickly (he was running on it by the end of the episode)
i think the reason why pope brought the camera was bc he used his phone to eavesdrop on gary & ward, so he couldn’t do that and continue to hear them, also it’s not like jj or pope have amazing phones but i get what your saying, tbh kiara should’ve whipped out her phone
I loved season 2, but my main issue was with Kie. I really felt that she was being so ungrateful to her parents, and I don't think she understand what it is to be a pogue exactly. She sees it as a lifestyle and keeps saying she's a pogue( yeah her dad was a pogue) but you are not struggling like a pogue. I thought it was kinda insulting. And I really wanted to smack her when she yelled after Ward when they gathered the proof and also for stringing along Pope.
Am I the only one who was constantly irritated by Kie? The way she treated Pope and then just disrespected her parents😑 It really got on my nerve. Overall I agree with your thoughts on the show.

I agree but it didn’t like how they looked down on her friends as if they were beneath them. Like the fact that John b was on trial for a murder he didn’t commit and was this close to getting the death sentence and Kiera is hurt, they didn’t even seem to give a shit about how she felt.
Tbh I think Rafe didn't shoot Sarah because Ward wanted all his kids to be together and with him like he says. Plus Rafe is always trying to be the man and suck up to Ward sooo idk. Also loved the vid :)

When I started watching the show I immediately googled how old he is cuz that man ain't no teenager lmaoo I don't know who they're trying to fool in teen shows nowadays...
I'm so worried for it becoming the next Riverdale exactly couse they didn't accomplish any of the stuff they were trying to and it feels like they're just trying so hard to caught up and get back on track while everything keeps moving and if they continue to do that and we get to s3 and s4 potentially it's just gonna be bland
I love this show but it makes it so hard to recommend to other people- especially after season 2- because the stakes were so high that the characters were written to be stupid for plot convenience. It makes it so much less enjoyable because their dynamic as friends is so great and makes the show but it’s so frustrating when writer have to dumb down their characters when the plot gets too much for them to figure out

we need more reviews like this that arent making the shows about ships! some moments that irritated me was def kie yelling 'mvrderer!' at ward that couldve gotten them k!lled, sarah most def starting the fight at the bonfire then everyone forgetting, and john b sneaking into the house when sarah said not to bc it was dangerous. i did like alot of the season especially cleo she was cool and i was surprised how much happened in the first 5 eps. tbh good season i cant wait for s3 as well :D!!
First episode I watched, it was clear that this show is the cliche of cliches but sometimes, that's all you need. What appealed the most to me was the treasure hunt part and it all happening during summer... it all combined was easily watchable.
I found it kind of annoying that we had two fake death reveals literally a few episodes apart, it’s shocking but a part of me wishes Ward actually died or maybe accidentally survived rather than both Ward and John’s dad being like ‘we’re alive it’s a part of the plan’ at the same time. I also hope after we got ALLLL that Rafe development and screentime that we can also expand on the rest of the Kooks. Kelce has crumbs and is left to be a one-dimensional Asshole Kook™️ and Topper simply revolves around Sarah’s character with nothing else going on. The only insight we got into his life was him complaining about his mom’s expectations for like 30 seconds but that was it.

Season 2 was SO CRAZY like my favourite episodes are episode 4 and 10. Episode 10 has SO MUCH action like everything is happening at the same time. Them trying to save Sarah and also get the gold while the workers are trying to shoot them and ward is trying to capture Sarah

Two things. 1. Every time I start to kinda like Sarah's ex bf i remind myself that this boy has tried to kill both John B and JJ on two separate occasions without batting and I. And the only reason he didn't succeed was because he got interrupted both times. Plus I recognize that his obsession with Sarah is unhealthy. When I remember these things I am swiftly put back in my right mind. 2. Their plan to steal the cross was never going to work because it was made of SOLID GOLD. The 6 of them could barely keep that little inflatable life boat afloat hahaha and it was going to be able to also hold a solid gold cross without sinking 😂😂😂 *Bonus #3* I'm absolutely obsessed with this show and can't wait for season 3 😅
I can understand why people don't like Kiara but I don't get how can y'all take her parents side. Forcing her to turn her back on her friends because they were pogues ( like her father wasn't a pogue before becoming a kook) to the point that they were willing to send her to a dangerous boarding school is messed up. I get that they care about her but the way they're showing it clearly isn't the right one and I hope they'll realise that in season 3.

I think this season was more annoying because they kept getting the gold then losing it in some way. Like yeah it wasn’t gonna be easy but still everything they did went to shit EVERY SINGLE TIME. Like at least the first season the mystery(ies) were layered and revealed something new in almost every episode
@@THEBATCAVE. yeah it didn't give the intriguing adventurous vibes it did in season one when there was an overarching mystery that they had to solve and they found themselves in various different locations unlocking a piece of the puzzle little by little leading to the final confrontation. This season did have that thing with pope tryna find the key but it wasn't nearly as eventful and exciting so instead the season was just like constant chasing because the stuff they find gets stolen by the same people

okay so i’m seeing this video wayyy after the fact lmao but i just wanted to point out that i think the last scene (with john b’s dad) is a flashback. in their convo he says that he wants her (the lady with the canes) to protect john b, which makes sense because later on she makes a deal with pope to trade info that will save john b and get him out of jail for popes family’s key. so i think that the third season will touch on how ward screwed both john bs dad and the lady with the canes over BEFORE john bs dad died and how that plays in to the overall plot.

I was watching the show and all the stupid choices they made annoyed me so much but when I got to the point where Kiara was shouting murderer I stopped like nah I can't do this anymore. Also, that part in season one where Ward offers John B alcohol and John B says "Sir, I'm only 16 years old" had me wheezing.
Season 2 was good but definitely not as good, and why was Sarah's sister named after a symtom. One thing I noticed was none of the white people in the show couldn't die
it seems like everyone’s gonna be in a relationship next season, i love relationships but hopefully the show doesn’t become full of that. it would be nice to see two black characters become a couple and mostly likely have jj and kiara get together for those who like/ship them. hopefully they don’t rush the two couples either where they end up making out on episode 3 LMAO. hope they do it right!!

i think my biggest issue was that every damn character almost died and then just didn't? like why did we need JJs almost death? it did nothing for the plot? pope almost died twice (cross falling and then allergic reaction?) like that didn't need to happen, there were other ways to get them to leave the church so people could steal the cross; Kiara almost drowned from the sewers, sarah got shot and then was fine half an episode later? john B almost dies every episode (what was the point of the alligator other than sparking JJs monologue?). like the fake deaths are one thing but i was getting so sick of the almost deaths from these 16 year olds that have no impact on the rest of the season? i wanna see some baggage from this in the next season? like john b went through it! and then watching Sarah almost die? that's gotta have consequences on him? all of these kids went through so much and seem fine about it?
and like how they all just walk off all their injuries??? like JB was running after that croc tussle and Sarah was just fine hobbling n running right after getting shot and surgery???

I could see how JJs almost death was a way to show how much he cares for his friends and also bring JJ and kie closer together...But the pope stuff really bothered me. Like they only made the cross fall so that there was a cliff hanger. And allergic reaction?? Really??? And somehow the gator thing just made me laugh
to be fair about the emotional baggage stuff tho they're kids and are definitely traumatized and just haven't had time to process or deal with any of it yet, a lot of people don't deal with trauma in the moment and some even wait years to actually process it bc it hurts so much. the therapy they need is IMMEASURABLE
I actually found the Kie drowning part substantial, because that was the one of the moments where rafe decided that nothing matter and nobody mattered but what he wanted. The rest though, I totally agree.

My favorite part about season 2 was honestly the character Cleo. Granted she started out as a antagonist, she ended up really having John B and Sarah's back numerous times and ended up becoming a really good character. I'm so glad that she officially joined the pogue (I hope I spelled that right) group in the season finale. I also feel like the finale hinted that she and Pope could potentially be a couple in season 3, which I would absolutely love to see. 💯

I've heard this theory that John B's bandana is the same fabric as the one Carla was looking for in the Santo Domingo cross. Like it's supposed to have regenerative properties (Carla wanted it to cure her degenerative disease) and that's why John B survived the fall. He used it to stop the bleeding on Sarah's bullet wound as well as his alligator bite and both healed very quickly (he was running on it by the end of the episode)

I loved season 2, but my main issue was with Kie. I really felt that she was being so ungrateful to her parents, and I don't think she understand what it is to be a pogue exactly. She sees it as a lifestyle and keeps saying she's a pogue( yeah her dad was a pogue) but you are not struggling like a pogue. I thought it was kinda insulting. And I really wanted to smack her when she yelled after Ward when they gathered the proof and also for stringing along Pope.

I love this show but it makes it so hard to recommend to other people- especially after season 2- because the stakes were so high that the characters were written to be stupid for plot convenience. theres so much about this show that i dislike that it would take a 10+ page paper to fit it all in..... however, i will still be watching season 3
First episode I watched, it was clear that this show is the cliche of cliches but sometimes, that's all you need. What appealed the most to me was the treasure hunt part and it all happening during summer... it all combined was easily watchable.
I found it kind of annoying that we had two fake death reveals literally a few episodes apart, it’s shocking but a part of me wishes Ward actually died or maybe accidentally survived rather than both Ward and John’s dad being like ‘we’re alive it’s a part of the plan’ at the same time.
I also hope after we got ALLLL that Rafe development and screentime that we can also expand on the rest of the Kooks. Kelce has crumbs and is left to be a one-dimensional Asshole Kook™️ and Topper simply revolves around Sarah’s character with nothing else going on. The only insight we got into his life was him complaining about his mom’s expectations for like 30 seconds but that was it.

Season 2 was SO CRAZY like my favourite episodes are episode 4 and 10. Episode 10 has SO MUCH action like everything is happening at the same time. Them trying to save Sarah and also get the gold while the workers are trying to shoot them and ward is trying to capture Sarah

Two things.
1. Every time I start to kinda like Sarah's ex bf i remind myself that this boy has tried to kill both John B and JJ on two separate occasions without batting and I. And the only reason he didn't succeed was because he got interrupted both times. Plus I recognize that his obsession with Sarah is unhealthy. When I remember these things I am swiftly put back in my right mind.
2. Their plan to steal the cross was never going to work because it was made of SOLID GOLD. The 6 of them could barely keep that little inflatable life boat afloat hahaha and it was going to be able to also hold a solid gold cross without sinking 😂😂😂

I think this season was more annoying because they kept getting the gold then losing it in some way. Like yeah it wasn’t gonna be easy but still everything they did went to shit EVERY SINGLE TIME. okay so i’m seeing this video wayyy after the fact lmao but i just wanted to point out that i think the last scene (with john b’s dad) is a flashback. in their convo he says that he wants her (the lady with the canes) to protect john b, which makes sense because later on she makes a deal with pope to trade info that will save john b and get him out of jail for popes family’s key. so i think that the third season will touch on how ward screwed both john bs dad and the lady with the canes over BEFORE john bs dad died and how that plays in to the overall plot.

I was watching the show and all the stupid choices they made annoyed me so much but when I got to the point where Kiara was shouting murderer I stopped like nah I can't do this anymore. Also, that part in season one where Ward offers John B alcohol and John B says "Sir, I'm only 16 years old" had me wheezing.
