      Anyone know anything about how to make the Constant Fan feature work on a Pro or Vive?

    For anyone wondering... If you have one of these hunk of junks with only a "System ON and OFF" System switch, and Only a "FAN and AUTO" Button... Heres how you configure the heat:
    System switch to ON > Press and hold + - buttons for three seconds > Use TOP BUTTON to switch menus (I know it doesnt looks like a button) > SL setting is the heating Limit going up.
    Theres also an SG settings that I have no idea what it means.
    System switch to OFF > Press and hold + - buttons for three seconds > Use TOP BUTTON to switch menus > HE setting is the heating swing, Which I believe is how far away from a temp the system allows before kicking on to adjust it.
    I believe this particular unti what ever its called doesnt have a Cooling limit, because its not connected or doesnt have the ability to cool. So the temp will always try to be at the temp set, within the swing limits.

    THANK UUUU!! Could you please put a link to the manual or plz tell us what the codes mean? I woke up sweating & found you here & was able to fix it! Thank you SO MUCH!! We "guests" shouldn't have to be paying these kinds of prices for hotels where you can't even get the room comfort where *you* want it!
    I travel ALOT & I'm beginning to notice it seems to be the worst in hotels that are NOT "corporate owned".
    Consumer beware. Ask if the ac works right before you give them your money! The only thing they will understand is a hit in their wallets!
    Please tell us which code overrides the unit's FAN from turning on & off aaaaall night long!! I can take the compressor turning on & off - but when the whole unit turns off & on all night it's *MISERABLE*! I'm one of those light sleepers that needs to have the fan able to be constanting circulating air & making some "white noise" - (especially when the hotel is close to a highway!)
    Can you tell us all out here in A/C Hotel Hell how to make the fan component run constant?
    THANK U for the tips!

    Can someone describe how the first setting works? The 'Cal" (Calibration Setting). I'm looking for a setting that could fix this issue: My thermostat doesn't seem to turn on the cooling fan until the temperature reaches 2 degrees warmer than what I have it set to. Example: It's 75 in the house. I set it to 73 and the cooling fan kicks on. Once it gets to 73 the cooling fan kicks off (because I have it set to 'Auto'). Then the AC stays shut off until it gets 75. Once it gets to 75 it kicks on the cooling fan. It's just a lot of fluctuating temperatures (too hot - too cold and drafty). Is the 'Cal' setting what I could use to make the cooling fan kick on sooner when the temp reaches say 1/2 or 1 degree hotter than set to? (Note: I understand this could be a little more wasteful energy wise, but I'm grateful to currently be in a place that cost isn't the biggest concern. Just need to keep my wife happy lol :) thanks for any input you have!

    • @gringoloco8576
      @gringoloco8576  2 роки тому +2

      I checked a manual online...so basically +2 causes the display to show 72 when you have it set at 70, etc. To get the thermostat display to reflect the actual temp of the room, set CAL to zero. It's to trick hotel guests into thinking a certain temp is set when it's however many degrees above or below it.

    • @rodhoutx
      @rodhoutx 2 роки тому +1

      You're looking for cooling differential or swing (different thermostats call it different things). That is how far away from the setpoint the temperature rises before it kicks on again. It depends on your thermostat brand and model whether it is adjustable. The Pro1 thermostats have that setting (I've looked at their manuals). From what I've seen, it is adjustable on many brands, except for Honeywell which uses Cycles Per Hour instead of swing to prevent the issue you're speaking of. Just a different way of controlling temperature. Some thermostats will turn on/off based on how far away from setpoint the temperature gets, others will try to keep you very close to the setpoint, but limit how many times they can do it in an hour to prevent cycling the equipment too much (Honeywell will try to cycle about 3 times max per hour to keep you at your setpoint, but does vary it based on its internal algorithm as it learns how fast your house heats and cools.).

      @@tamerahines3875 you want to make sure to exactly tap both buttons at the same time to cycle thru the menus. CA and CR don't matter AS much. You want the cool or hot limit which are the options beyond CA and CR. So just try to click it again, remember you have to be perfect and tap both buttons at the exact same time to bump the menus. Find the cold and hot temp limits and just change those
      If that still doesn't work you can do 2 other options.
      1. Go to the window unit and if it's GE or AMANA it's easy to hack and disconnect it from the wall thermostat...I have videos on that.
      2. Trick the thermostat. Put a lamp with a warm bulb (non led preferred) right under the thermostat. Or take a phone and turn GPS on so it stays on all night and hang it next to the thermostat.
