I love this arrangement so much. I puts the greatest highlights of the lion king into an arrangement playable at the middle school level. And if you're any good, you can make this song kick ass, just like the fine musicians in the recording!
Eh, really the first part is where it's at! You just need to be able to play clarinet well enough to have the chops for playing the higher notes. (In tune, with good tone, without biting to get the notes out, etc.) Yeah I love this piece, especially the 1st clarinet solo line for the Dixieland quartet deal at 148. (Beginning of the Hakuna Matata section)
Agreed... bassoon has boring parts up until like the first half of Be Prepared. Also there's like 12 or 14 measures of rests in the first part of Hakuna Matata and several at the end leading up to a single disappointing A.
Me, as a trombonist, agrees trombones are tied with french horns on the prettiest sounds. Trombone sounds more “fun” and exciting when played correctly. French horn sounds so beautiful, mellow, and powerful at times. Two amazing instruments.
played this on bari sax for my spring concert 2 years ago. be prepared was super hard for me. my teacher gave me alot of shit over that. most fun part in the peice now that i look back
Maiya 624 haha yea bari sax has the part at be prepared. i guess you can be prepared for it since it was kinda hard for me, probably since it was my first year playing sax. as for at 7:07 im not sure if bari has that part since i dont have the piece in front of me currently but i think its just trombones at that part
How I wish I could get my teacher to let us play this but I think it has a lot of pages considering the video is 8 minutes, but I think my teacher would as I am in the top band

+Brainsicles it was okay. I prefer reading the baritone part. It has a better part in Be Prepared
Agreed... bassoon has boring parts up until like the first half of Be Prepared. Also there's like 12 or 14 measures of rests in the first part of Hakuna Matata and several at the end leading up to a single disappointing A.

Yeah another horn! My middle school is doing this musical so wind ensemble (me) is doing this and I'm the only horn so this'll be fun😄
French horn for the win
Simon Gellatly woo, horns!

Me, as a trombonist, agrees trombones are tied with french horns on the prettiest sounds. Trombone sounds more “fun” and exciting when played correctly. French horn sounds so beautiful, mellow, and powerful at times. Two amazing instruments.

Tfw you're the only one in the trumpet section with a cornet.
is that a soprano at hakuna matata w the trunpet solo
It's an Alto Sax 1
It feels like an octave above the upper register for an Alto Sax...
Still think it's a soprano :/
Ethan Chen A 1st Bb Clarinet and A 1st Alto Sax are accompanying the Trumpet solo
+Sgt Fox so were playing this in my class and its a trumpet, clarinet, alto saxophone, trombone, and tuba solo
ALTO SAX ON THAT LONG ASS REST DURING HAKUNA MATATA
