Hi Jim - in your video, you connected the tortoise to the bdl168. Question - my tortoises are connected to DS64’s. Will the ds64 report the turnout’s status back to JMRI on startup? If not, how do you wire the tortoise to both a ds64 and a bdl168? Thanks!
I believe the DS64 works the same as the SE74 with regard to turnout status, which means that it does report its status to JMRI. I have one that will be used sometime in the future but I haven’t actually played with it yet. If you find that you need additional feedback on turnout status, take a look at the video I did on using the BDL168 and the switch contacts on the Tortoise.
