What a big change in Newman game compared to last season. Last season he barely let his partner touch the ball. Now he was letting Jackie cover her side of the court. Good stuff!! IMO
He definitely underutilized CP's skills, she is very talented. But they have made 2 championship sundays which shows that it works, it just didn't work against newman and kawamoto
CP's role in this match was to set up and keep the ball in play. Alshon was generating the offense and scoring points. He sometimes overdoes it (it takes judgement) but the more ball he sees, the better his team does.
Great match except for Alshon’s loser behavior in the end, throwing the paddle, as he always used to do. Even though Waters put some constraints on him, it did not solve the foundational problem that he is just an immature brat with huge talent but cannot never realize his full potential. Btw, the annoying little towel break after almost every point should be banned.

This was Ashton's longest hardest and best match. 10 match points. Incredible come back on game 1. Amazing endurance.
Great plays but all players involved. Very entertaining game. It looks like Riley is finally back in form.
