This has to be the highest level and the best match of women's doubles I've ever seen. Anna Bright and Rohrabacher are finally reaching the level of Anna Leigh and Parenteau, and I'm all for it.
Paddles up the best pickleball match I’ve EVER seen!!!! It was impossible not to get emotionally invested! I love each team’s chemistry, but have a special place in my heart for AB and RR. They don’t have coaches on the sideline and when they’re fired up they’re a force on all fronts! Leave it to these four ladies to be trailblazers of the sport! 🙌💕
Wow these women were playing out of their minds. Unbelievable play. AB really went up a level in my mind, watching her match AL's energy so often and convincingly. I hope we'll one day be able to watch these amazing games in decent quality instead of these horrifically compressed videos.
These ladies (all four) are definitely raising the bar for doubles. Their gets and resets are next level as well as their offensive accuracy. AWL at her age will be a force to be reckoned with for several years, it's hard to imagine what the talent level will look like for the next generation and upcoming youth.
Rhorabacher is quickly becoming one of my favorite players on the women's side to watch. Her form, especially with that 2h backhand, is unmatched. Defense, touch, lobs, overheads, strong dink game, hand speed, there's not much she isn't one of the best at.

Did anyone else see that no game was won from the side with partial shade. All games were won only from one side. Even in final game, till AB and RR were on the side without shade they were comfortably ahead but after sides switched ALW and CP came back strongly and won.
@DanKaschel You can't compare court coverage in women's to mixed. I agree with your analysis about Ben and ALW in mixed! Women's is a different game! ALW is being forced to protect CP bc Rachel and AB are attacking her effectively. ALW would love to over cover 50% of the court to maximize her own efficacy. She can't if she wants to win women's with CP as her partner (again- I adore CP). If CP can increase her ability to put the ball away- they will be unstoppable bc ALW is clearly the most skilled player of these 4 strong women.

Edit: I’m stupid and somehow didn’t notice the ball bouncing in the kitchen. Leaving my original comment as a permanent monument to my shame. 24:50 I thought the call was against Bright when I saw the replay she steps in the kitchen with her right foot and it looks like she then makes contact with the ball before that right foot hits the ground. It’s hard to tell, maybe her foot grazes the ground on its way but if not, she also has a foot fault half a second before Parenteau’s haha. Those things are super hard to catch, I’m honestly impressed how often refs do catch them with everything else they’re watching at the same time.

ALW took her game to the next level in last game. She almost made up her mind to take them to championship on her own covering about 70% of the court. Well Played ALW and actually well played all 4 ladies. Rachel got a little shaky/nervous/fatigued (not sure which of those) towards last 4-5 points and thats what costed them the match. on a side note, didn't like AB's attitude over that ball change and throwing the ball to alw without even looking at her. a little too much probably.
Really entertaining play but the paddle bumping is getting a little out of hand. There were a few times where Bright and Rohrabacker did it like 3-4 times between points. Maybe keep it to like celebrating well fought points or something. I personally try to keep it to a minimum because I don’t want it to affect the surface of my paddle.
Tremendous match! ALW is by FAR the most superior player on that court. AB and Rachel pretty much cover 50% of the court each. Additionally Rachel is also very aggressive. ALW has to cover MUCH more court to ensure her team has as much or more aggression. ALW herself has 1.5x level of aggression and skill over AB or Rachel. CP is a great player. adore her. Although, She will have to work on her put-away ability to help ALW out. Congrats ALW and CP- well deserved win!
I think this is the same flawed logic that has people thinking Collin Johns is a bad player. Covering a lot of court isn't necessarily a good thing, and we see AB take advantage of ALW just not being able to defend both her position near middle and her backhand sideline at the same time over and over. To enable her playstyle, she needs a partner who isn't phased by those misses, isn't consumed by ego over controlling less of the court, and balances ALWs more aggressive psychology. This is why AB and ALW were never going to last as a doubles team. AB wants 55% of the court, not 40%. A good team isn't as simple as putting together the two most aggressive players. That dynamic is part of why I love ALW and Ben Johns. Playing against male players (and with the best male player), ALW is comfortable giving up court -- and yet you also see that BJ is comfortable with her poaching and even straight up taking over points. His support and lack of ego with her make them an amazing team. Sidenote: AB was playing out of her mind this match. They had match point against ALW/CP in a bo5; that's super impressive.

That was very childish by waters to continuously hit herself with her paddle. These professionals need to be aware that younger players and aspiring up-in-coming players look up to these already professionals and this behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable. I understand she is young and emotions are part of the game but take your frustration out the next play, not by bringing attention to yourself by demolishing your leg with your paddle. Keep it clean and keep it professional.
I agree. They need to learn sportsmanship.. the screaming is so obnoxious. Ben Johns hits an unbelievable ATP..and just walks back to the baseline. These idiots scream when they have an EASY putaway.
AB is just very determined and gives credit where credit is due. She is a very strategic and brilliant player who gives chances to newer players and nurtures them to championship level.

Despite the great play, I had to stop watching this towards the end of game one because of the shrill YEAH! screams after every single point. PPA might want to re-think what etiquette they want to suggest. Is this a good look for new viewers tuning in? I don’t think the guys do it as much, or at least they have some variety of reactions.
