What got me so much was that elderly soldier refusing a hug until he had stood and saluted his son. That's real patriotism!

Cela le rappelle tellement de choses, nos retrouvailles, les étreintes pendant plusieurs minutes sans rien dire, mais heureuse de son retour en vie

I've watched it half a dozen times and it hits me in the heart every time.
On one of my homecomings my wife got us a hotel on the beach. We raised 2 of our grandchildren. They were like 5 and 9 at this time. Leaving was hard on all of us. I took my boots off and stuck them under the large curtain where you could see them. I hid in the bathroom………they tackled the curtain then I tackled them. Wonderful absolutely wonderful!!!!

Aww the 2nd one got me, as the soldier is ready to hug him and the elder saying no so he can stand up on his own to salute him and give him a hug standing. Wow that got us all. But all sweet videos. So glad my spouse is retired and we don’t have to worry about them going away for a year. They have a job now and I told them no taking jobs away from home anymore. The good lord helped and he got a local good paying job along with the VA bill on getting my spouse a good paying job. So thankful.

My husband was army for 32 years and he was always so very proud. I cried big tears at the second homecoming, the pride in the salute got me😭😭
