In both situations it was because of kyuubi chakra. minato didn't have enough chakra to perfect sage mode and that's why he didn't use it since flying raijin already spent much chakra so senjutsu wasn't beneficial for him. However when he was reanimated he had more chakra thanks to kyuubi so he achieved a better sage mode Kyuubi gave kakashi 3 times his chakra which according to kakashi in each time made his power and chakra reserves 3 times more.

That’s the way war works, be kind to your friends and savage to your enemies, otherwise your friends might end up getting killed. Minato is seen as nice because we saw him from his side of the war, he may not have been as nice if we saw him from any other side of the war.
Instead of boruto i wish we'd of gotten an anime/manga about the first ninja wars like season 1-2 follows hashirama and tobirama , season 3-4 follows the three sanin, season 5-6 follows minato. Fam, you don't know what you're talking about. Think about what you just said, "the rasengan is the highest form of chakra control." Naruto learned it when he was like 13 as did Konohamaru and Kakashi, and Jiraiya learned it as well. No Rasengan user has the chakra control to do medical ninjutsu. Rasengan is pure shape manipulation, not chakra control.

Listening to you two talk about Minato's sage mode (in this video specifically) made me realize something. Minato is one of the fastest shinobi in existence. Regardless of how you think about it, Sage mode requires some time and focus to activate. So, what if Minato learned sage mode but then stopped using it because it was too slow for him? - Jiraya had Ma and Pa. - Naruto had shadow clones. Fusing with Ma and Pa is something Jiraya did because he was bad at gathering nature energy in the heat of battle. Minato was clearly capable of gathering nature energy just fine, so he wouldn't need Ma and Pa for that. The other reason would be so that Minato could focus on battle while Ma and Pa gather nature energy for him. However, summoning Ma and Pa the way Jiraya did is far too slow and loud for Minato's fast and spontaneous fighting style. Minato's chakra reserves probably suck in comparison to Naruto's. Even if he had mastered the shadow clones, it wouldn't make sense for him to rely on shadow clones the same way Naruto does. Heck. Tobirama invented the shadow clone jutsu and doesn't rely on it like Naruto does. Sasuke is the second strongest shinobi in the leaf village and he can't create half as many clones now as Naruto could when he was a child. So its not about whether or not he can enter sage mode. It's more likely about Minato being able to effectively utilize the technique with his flying Raijin style. Why waste time gathering nature energy or summoning toads when you can just teleport behind your target and assassinate them in the blink of an eye? Minato probably realized this and stopped using Sage mode because he didn't need it. It's far too slow, it's risky, and it's probably pointless in 90% of his battles.

To argue your shadow clone point they probably dont use them simply because that's not their style. Yea naruto could spam shadow clones like nothing but pretty much everyone he fought could one shot his clones with ease so at certain points they were kinda useless
Sage Mode isn’t a certain speed but instead like a multiplier to speed and strength. You view it as Sage Mode being a certain range or increase in power in speed but instead it is a percentage increase like 2.5x or 5.4x

He was talking before he was reanimated. When he was reanimated he used kyuubi chakra too. Probably he didn't have enough chakra to perfect sage mode when he was alive like jiraiya's case but when he used kyuubi chakra he achieved a better sage mode.
@@sofac8252 but he still instantaneously entered the perfected form of sage mode. Jiraiya needed time just to hit the imperfect version. To use a technique at that level of proficiency when a less impressive display (Naruto being said to master it when he still needed time to build up energy) is called mastery and not be called a master is ridiculous. Also it’s not a matter of how much chakra you have, to get sage mode you need to have the same amount of nature energy as you do physical and spiritual energy (the two components of chakra) if you have more you turn into a toad and if you have less the nature energy is just expelled. Jiraiya simply couldn’t get the balance quite right and tended to gain some toad like features whenever he used it. That and he didn’t get as big a boost from it as naruto and minato.

He could also teleport someone to another dimension with his kamui (which he tried to do with Minato but minato escaped it). And, he could’ve survived, but I think he chose to die for naruto to become stronger with the nine tails’ power. Because he was planning to use the reaper death seal to seal the nine tails in naruto for him to be able to control its powers in the future.
So this would be like if Kakashi didn't lose his eye so he didn't get Obito's. Kakashi would've been much weaker throughout the series, still talented but not the legendary ninja he would have been, if we assume that he they could still make it to the war without Kakashi being to weak to keep the story going then they would be fucked, Obito would have both mangekyou, because Madara would have made sure that Obito saw Kakashi kill Rin like he did in the story, and they don't have ranged Kamui to counter Obito but he does so he can just pick them off one by one. Chris Cain i said it earlier but the thing is minati didnt do much to change thd technique. he just figured that carving said markings into projectiles and throwing them saves time than having to physically mark things himself during or before a battle. its akin to how kakashi figured out that the shadow clone can be used to reduce training.

I don't care man. I would put my money on Tobirama. In the same way how Swagkage can choose Madara over Kayuga because of battle experience and intelligence, I am going to choose Tobirama for those same reasons. He is clearly more experienced and clearly more intelligent at using his jutsu. When they fought Jubito it was his idea to reciprocate their flying rajin and he came up with that strategy. He was able to realize that Sage jutsu would be effective against Jubito the same time Naruto did while Minato who also uses some Sage jutsu didn't even notice that. Its one thing to know jutsu but being able to utilize it effectively and create strategies on the fly to defeat your opponent is extremely valuable and Tobirama outclasses Minato in that category.

Cameron Mueller Kishimoto himself said that it was a mistake to give Naruto that many Clones at the beginning. Let's take note that Naruto's shadow clone numbers got significantly smaller after the 1st episode. When you create a Shadow Clone, you give a shadow clone a portion of your chakra. Once the clone disappears, the chakra is transfered back to the user. This is why Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu is a Kinjutsu. A person with even normal chakra reserves would easily kill themselves if they weren't careful with the technique. Also, thank you for pointing that out to me. Me saying that Minato cant use shadow clones wasn't really meant to be taken at face value, only that it was meant to point out that Minato has never used Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu, let alone clones. Actually no, its the clone jutsu. The shadow clone jutsu is a forbidden one, if its forbidden why would they teach it to academy students. So no, the one they had to do in the academy to graduate was the Clone jutsu.

Did you take into account that Team Tobirama had just returned from a mission where they were all exhausted? So 20 elite ninjas vs an exhausted Tobirama didn't seem plausible to you? Darui was fighting Edo Tensei Kin and Gun bros who are weaker than their alive selfs as well and used the weapons to seal them, he didn't win out of fighting strength. Tobirama did put Minato's Shunshin and FTG above his own, however there were moments where Tobirama showcased faster movement than Minato such as how Tobirama was able to both Obito (Juubi Jin) while also setting up his explosive tags and how he was able to create a shadow clone and get the TSB off of Minato before it exploded much faster than Minato could. Shunshin no jutsu speed is determined by the amount of chakra you use, chakra control, and your mastery over the jutsu. Naruto in KCM speed is so fast due to his large chakra reserve, Tobirama has the larger reserve but Minato has the better mastery over the jutsu as with FTG. Tobirama can still increase his speed faster by using more chakra. Tobirama had to use Minato as a medium to use FTG on those Minato shares chakra to, so he might need one of Minato's Kunai's to gain access to it. Tobirama can teleport to any location that his chakra is touching, he can flood the area with water and that will allow him to teleport anywhere or anything his water is or is touching. Tobirama is also the better sensor of the two, he can even sense what clan you're from by your chakra type.
Couldn't he use his teleportation jutsu to teleport his unit far away or back to Konoha... Or use his Reanimated Jutsu then make his summons do the infinite explosive paper tag against the Kinkaku Unit... Or Use the Eternal Darkness Jutsu to mislead them of their direction.....

I think as long as Minato doesnt use the Bijuu mode, I think it's fair game. I'm not a big fan of either of these two, but I feel like Tobirama isnt really shown off that well, because he managed to survive the Warring States Era, which, in my eyes, is something worthy of mention, and he killed Madara's brother, and he wasnt a joke, and not to mention, the man became the second Hokage. I feel like to become Hokage, you have to be pretty damn strong. That's just my opinion.
If Minato can warp away biju bombs than automatically any ninjutsu Tobirama uses is useless. Tobirama is probably base level stronger, has more stamina, and more powerful jutsu but he could only win with strength, speed or genjutsu. If minato is a sage and has the superior FTG technique then one could assume he's faster than tobirama and at least in sage mode on par physically if not stronger than Tobirama. I like Tobirama but Minato is probably one of the only ninja's he would lose to.

This is mostly "Why We Think Minato is Stronger" more than Minato Namikaze vs Tobirama Senju. Tobirama said Minato's Shunshin no Jutsu was quick. That's the Body Flicker Technique, not Flying Thunder God. Yes Minato has mastered it in terms of usage and versatility, he has more Flying Thunder God techniques than Tobirama for certain. -In the war however, the difference in their experience and creativity really showed. He performed much better than KCM Minato against Juubito in terms of combat speed and reaction. Combat speed is not teleportation. Combat speed is who moves their body quicker in a fist fight, who punches quicker, who dodges faster, who notices the predictable attacks more. That is where Tobirama's edge showed and you can bet it'd show if they fought. Tobirama tagged Juubito FIVE times in the middle of getting blitzed while Minato was doing who knows what getting caught by Juubito's orbs while Tobirama teleported it with a slower clone. So being able to teleport to Minato's stuff would be a huge problem. -Minato can teleport? Okay, and what use is there in teleporting against a guy that's much more combat proficient with it? Its not like Minato is facing someone as slow as Sakura and is obscenely faster than Tobirama when a Tobirama clone was better at saving him than himself. -And if Minato doesn't teleport? What? A slugfest? Against a Senju? Tobirama Senju? Lol okay. Good luck with that against a guy that has so much battle experience, a nasty tactician, will fight dirty if he has to, and is clearly better at combat, and is a physical powerhouse with absurd chakra reserves and stamina. -Water Attacks might not be too useful against Minato since he could evade most of them. -Paper bomb techniques of Tobirama would be a problem even if you disagree. Why? Tobirama knows Minato can use Hiraishin No Jutsu and he's the deadlier tactician with more battle experience. You can bet he'd purposely have Minato teleport somewhere to get caught in some trap. -Minato being a sensory type so he'll sense things? And? So is Tobirama, much more so than Minato if you actually read back. -Chakra Reserves? I don't even need to go there. -Sage Mode? You think he wouldn't notice Minato trying to activate Sage Mode in a fight and take advantage of that given how dirty he'll fight? "Oh but Minato is being humble when he says he needs time for Sage Mode." This dude's brother is Hashirama, who can probably just blink to activate Sage Mode. "Oh but Minato has clones to use to make Sage Mode." Clones that would get cucked by Tobirama's clones, who can probably make a ton more with the kind of chakra reserves he has. With Sage Mode Minato might have a chance against his physicality. -Reanimation? How many dead people are there? LOL. Its not them fighting each other. Its Minato trying to survive and kill Tobirama quick enough, quick enough against a big brain guy that knows his abilities, has more combat prowess, and outranks him in EVERY category outside of Hirashin techniques and Shunshin No Jutsu.
Tobirama takes the win. But if Minato lived long enough (let's say the same age as Tobirama before he died) he could possibly be better. Learning more jutsu and mastering FTG even further.
Literally genjutsus the field and distract minato, teleport to minatos kunais and tag them with infinite exploding paper bombs, reanimate some ninjas to distract minato even more, literally flood the entire field and beat minatos ass under water. Sage mode of course is a diff5 story

I believe when the second hokage said that Minato's teleportation was better than his when they arrived on the battlefield, that he was referring to the body flicker technique and not the Thunder Jesus technique. There weren't any markers for the flying thunder Jesus technique on the battlefield at that point either. The body flicker has been referred to as teleportation several times in the manga. Shisui even in the English dub has been said to teleport while he in reality only uses the body flicker to move really fast.

WARNING: This is gonna be a long one Minato would obviously win. To know this lets look at their arsenals. Minato has flying rajiin, shadow clones and rasengan. Tobirama has flying rajiin, reanimation and shadow clones. These are the only jutsu’s that we know they. Its a mostly similar arsenal but Minato comes out on top because his rasengan is far superior to the reanimation in this case. The first thing wrong with the reanimation is: Who is he going to reanimate that could help? In the time that he was alive we are going to assume that hashirama was alive longer because of his strength. Now lets say tobirama got rinne-rebirthed or something and he uses it., He has all these strong options but minato could easily stop it because he’s to quick as hiruzen did in his fight against orochimaru. Now speaking of hiruzen vs orochimaru, When orochimaru was reanimating all the other hokage hiruzen was afraid of MINATO. And only minato. After he stopped him from reanimating minato, he was like: Ok this is bad but at least I stopped him from reanimating minato. So he was scared of minato and NOT tobirama. Not to mention Minato’s MASTERY of sage mode which gives him like infinite chakra and improves the quality of his jutsus. Now if were talking about revived Minato then he would absolutely body. Because now he has KCM!! So in all, Minato would win because of his better arsenal Hiruzen was afraid of minato and NOT tobirama, And Minato has sage mode. Tobirama was killed by pathetic writing. Actually, Tobirama could have used the Flying Raijin to go teleport himself and his team back to Konoha. Don't tell me he is a war genius and highly analytical and he doesn't think of this? So Stop his death argument. The arguable points that Minato is stronger is he: 1. Improved the Kage Bunshin and Flying Raijin, basically he developed the extended version of teleporting a Bijuu bomb. 2. Developed a devastating Rasengan jutsu that compliments the Flying Raijin. 3. Has great sealing justu (derived from the Uzumaki). 4. HE KNOWS SAGE JUTSU FROM MOUNT MYOBOKU. Unique Jutsu Tobirama has include over : 1. Edo Tensei 2. Water based Jutsu It's kind of disrespecting pitting Minato and Tobirama. It's just comparing Kobe to MJ. Most of the things Minato does was derived from Tobirama. They were products of their own times. And remember. In general, the next generation would always surpass the previous generation.
The way I see it, Minato has a more plausible win condition, but that doesn't mean tobirama would definitely lose. Minato is faster at base, and his flying raijin technique is faster. Add on sage mode amp on top of this and Minato should just be able to comfortably blitz Tobirama with a rasengan for a quick win. Tobirama would have to win with a devastatingly powerful and impossible to dodge(or teleport), jutsu. A large scale water jutsu does accomplish this, and he is a water jutsu god. It's very easy to imagine Tobirama using Kissame tier water jutsu and beyond. The question is, would he even get a chance to get the attack off? It boils down to how close we believe the speed of Tobirama to be compared to Minato. If it's close enough that Tobirama can at least avoid Minato long enough to set up a typhoon or whatever, then Minato is done. After sage mode activation, this is definitely not the case. However, Tobirama is the single best equipped shinobi to fight raijin. If Tobirama can effectively track raijin teleports, he may be able avoid Minato long enough, despite the speed discrepancy. I personally would say that Minato just wins as soon as sage mode comes out. Just base Minato loses though. If we are going by canon. It's very likely that Minato wouldn't try to use sage mode, since he didn't use it against Toby and Kurama.

In both situations it was because of kyuubi chakra. minato didn't have enough chakra to perfect sage mode and that's why he didn't use it since flying raijin already spent much chakra so senjutsu wasn't beneficial for him. However when he was reanimated he had more chakra thanks to kyuubi so he achieved a better sage mode
Kyuubi gave kakashi 3 times his chakra which according to kakashi in each time made his power and chakra reserves 3 times more.

Fam, you don't know what you're talking about. Think about what you just said, "the rasengan is the highest form of chakra control." Naruto learned it when he was like 13 as did Konohamaru and Kakashi, and Jiraiya learned it as well. No Rasengan user has the chakra control to do medical ninjutsu. Rasengan is pure shape manipulation, not chakra control.

Listening to you two talk about Minato's sage mode (in this video specifically) made me realize something. Minato is one of the fastest shinobi in existence. Regardless of how you think about it, Sage mode requires some time and focus to activate. So, what if Minato learned sage mode but then stopped using it because it was too slow for him?
- Jiraya had Ma and Pa.
- Naruto had shadow clones.
Fusing with Ma and Pa is something Jiraya did because he was bad at gathering nature energy in the heat of battle. Minato was clearly capable of gathering nature energy just fine, so he wouldn't need Ma and Pa for that.
The other reason would be so that Minato could focus on battle while Ma and Pa gather nature energy for him. However, summoning Ma and Pa the way Jiraya did is far too slow and loud for Minato's fast and spontaneous fighting style.
Minato's chakra reserves probably suck in comparison to Naruto's. Even if he had mastered the shadow clones, it wouldn't make sense for him to rely on shadow clones the same way Naruto does. Heck. Tobirama invented the shadow clone jutsu and doesn't rely on it like Naruto does. Sasuke is the second strongest shinobi in the leaf village and he can't create half as many clones now as Naruto could when he was a child.
So its not about whether or not he can enter sage mode. It's more likely about Minato being able to effectively utilize the technique with his flying Raijin style. Why waste time gathering nature energy or summoning toads when you can just teleport behind your target and assassinate them in the blink of an eye? Minato probably realized this and stopped using Sage mode because he didn't need it.
It's far too slow, it's risky, and it's probably pointless in 90% of his battles.
Good comment but I really think that Minato is a ninja that wants to master everything he wants. We saw he instantly enter to sage mode, he could do instant K.O sage rasengan to anyone. Minato was 24 when he died and had many abilities if not the most versatile ninja ever. Here is what he mastered:
Sage Mode: Perfect Sage User. He just needed more mastery like Naruto or Hashirama, but he is in 3rd place. Kabuto does not count since he gather different DNA. Minato is natural
Chakra: By feats he is top 10 or even top 5 in Konoha. Naruto > Hashirama > Minato > Tobirama > Jiraiya.
Sensor: Minato is also top 5 or maybe even the best together with Tobirama. Karin is not the best.
Fuinjutsu: He is the greatest ninja in fuinjutsu skills.
Chakra Control: He is like second best chakra control ninja, he know a lot of techniques of chakra control. The first might be Naruto.
Barriers: He has master it and can erect the best barrier in the 4th war.
Speed: He is the best in this department.
Space Time Jutsus: Not even if Obito had a better technique, Minato was better than him and Tobirama.
Toad Summons: Minato is on or near the level of Jiraiya. According to databook. Gerotora is a weird summon even between the weird ones and Minato summon it like nothing. And to summon it is needed a certain level of mastery. Minato knew pretty well those kind of frogs. I could say he master the toad summons to.
Intelligence: He is said the number 1 and Itachi number 2. He is the best.

Sage Mode isn’t a certain speed but instead like a multiplier to speed and strength. You view it as Sage Mode being a certain range or increase in power in speed but instead it is a percentage increase like 2.5x or 5.4x

To use a technique at that level of proficiency when a less impressive display (Naruto being said to master it when he still needed time to build up energy) is called mastery and not be called a master is ridiculous. Also it’s not a matter of how much chakra you have, to get sage mode you need to have the same amount of nature energy as you do physical and spiritual energy (the two components of chakra) if you have more you turn into a toad and if you have less the nature energy is just expelled. Jiraiya simply couldn’t get the balance quite right and tended to gain some toad like features whenever he used it. That and he didn’t get as big a boost from it as naruto and minato.

In the same way how Swagkage can choose Madara over Kayuga because of battle experience and intelligence, I am going to choose Tobirama for those same reasons. He is clearly more experienced and clearly more intelligent at using his jutsu. When they fought Jubito it was his idea to reciprocate their flying rajin and he came up with that strategy. He was able to realize that Sage jutsu would be effective against Jubito the same time Naruto did while Minato who also uses some Sage jutsu didn't even notice that. Its one thing to know jutsu but being able to utilize it effectively and create strategies on the fly to defeat your opponent is extremely valuable and Tobirama outclasses Minato in that category.

Let's take note that Naruto's shadow clone numbers got significantly smaller after the 1st episode. When you create a Shadow Clone, you give a shadow clone a portion of your chakra. Once the clone disappears, the chakra is transfered back to the user. This is why Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu is a Kinjutsu. A person with even normal chakra reserves would easily kill themselves if they weren't careful with the technique. Also, thank you for pointing that out to me. Me saying that Minato cant use shadow clones wasn't really meant to be taken at face value, only that it was meant to point out that Minato has never used Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu, let alone clones. Did you take into account that Team Tobirama had just returned from a mission where they were all exhausted? So 20 elite ninjas vs an exhausted Tobirama didn't seem plausible to you? Darui was fighting Edo Tensei Kin and Gun bros who are weaker than their alive selfs as well and used the weapons to seal them, he didn't win out of fighting strength.
Tobirama did put Minato's Shunshin and FTG above his own, however there were moments where Tobirama showcased faster movement than Minato such as how Tobirama was able to both Obito (Juubi Jin) while also setting up his explosive tags and how he was able to create a shadow clone and get the TSB off of Minato before it exploded much faster than Minato could.
Shunshin no jutsu speed is determined by the amount of chakra you use, chakra control, and your mastery over the jutsu. Naruto in KCM speed is so fast due to his large chakra reserve, Tobirama has the larger reserve but Minato has the better mastery over the jutsu as with FTG. Tobirama can still increase his speed faster by using more chakra.
Tobirama had to use Minato as a medium to use FTG on those Minato shares chakra to, so he might need one of Minato's Kunai's to gain access to it. Tobirama can teleport to any location that his chakra is touching, he can flood the area with water and that will allow him to teleport anywhere or anything his water is or is touching. Tobirama is also the better sensor of the two, he can even sense what clan you're from by your chakra type.

I know I’m probably late as fuck and maybe someone else already pointed it out lol but I didn’t see it elsewhere in the comments section and it’s not that big a deal but around 15:42 you said Tobirama could teleport to other people’s flying raijin seals but that’s only b/c Tobirama and Minato marked each other w/ their seals to work together against Obito. It’s not something either would be able to do in a fight w/ each other unless 1 marked the other first. A lot of people forget that, it’s not just something innate to Tobirama. Overall good video, love the content and I agree Minato is probably stronger than Tobirama.

I think as long as Minato doesnt use the Bijuu mode, I think it's fair game. I'm not a big fan of either of these two, but I feel like Tobirama isnt really shown off that well, because he managed to survive the Warring States Era, which, in my eyes, is something worthy of mention, and he killed Madara's brother, and he wasnt a joke, and not to mention, the man became the second Hokage. I feel like to become Hokage, you have to be pretty damn strong. That's just my opinion.
If Minato can warp away biju bombs than automatically any ninjutsu Tobirama uses is useless. Tobirama is probably base level stronger, has more stamina, and more powerful jutsu but he could only win with strength, speed or genjutsu.
If minato is a sage and has the superior FTG technique then one could assume he's faster than tobirama and at least in sage mode on par physically if not stronger than Tobirama.
I like Tobirama but Minato is probably one of the only ninja's he would lose to.

This is mostly "Why We Think Minato is Stronger" more than Minato Namikaze vs Tobirama Senju. Tobirama said Minato's Shunshin no Jutsu was quick. That's the Body Flicker Technique, not Flying Thunder God. Yes Minato has mastered it in terms of usage and versatility, he has more Flying Thunder God techniques than Tobirama for certain.
-In the war however, the difference in their experience and creativity really showed. He performed much better than KCM Minato against Juubito in terms of combat speed and reaction. Combat speed is not teleportation. Combat speed is who moves their body quicker in a fist fight, who punches quicker, who dodges faster, who notices the predictable attacks more. That is where Tobirama's edge showed and you can bet it'd show if they fought. Tobirama tagged Juubito FIVE times in the middle of getting blitzed while Minato was doing who knows what getting caught by Juubito's orbs while Tobirama teleported it with a slower clone. So being able to teleport to Minato's stuff would be a huge problem.
-Minato can teleport? Okay, and what use is there in teleporting against a guy that's much more combat proficient with it? Its not like Minato is facing someone as slow as Sakura and is obscenely faster than Tobirama when a Tobirama clone was better at saving him than himself.
-And if Minato doesn't teleport? What? A slugfest? Against a Senju? Tobirama Senju? Lol okay. -Water Attacks might not be too useful against Minato since he could evade most of them.

"Oh but Minato has clones to use to make Sage Mode." Clones that would get cucked by Tobirama's clones, who can probably make a ton more with the kind of chakra reserves he has. With Sage Mode Minato might have a chance against his physicality.

Its not them fighting each other. Its Minato trying to survive and kill Tobirama quick enough, quick enough against a big brain guy that knows his abilities, has more combat prowess, and outranks him in EVERY category outside of Hirashin techniques and Shunshin No Jutsu.

I believe when the second hokage said that Minato's teleportation was better than his when they arrived on the battlefield, that he was referring to the body flicker technique and not the Thunder Jesus technique. There weren't any markers for the flying thunder Jesus technique on the battlefield at that point either. The body flicker has been referred to as teleportation several times in the manga. Shisui even in the English dub has been said to teleport while he in reality only uses the body flicker to move really fast.

Minato would obviously win. To know this lets look at their arsenals. Minato has flying rajiin, shadow clones and rasengan. Tobirama has flying rajiin, reanimation and shadow clones. These are the only jutsu’s that we know they. Its a mostly similar arsenal but Minato comes out on top because his rasengan is far superior to the reanimation in this case. The first thing wrong with the reanimation is: Who is he going to reanimate that could help? In the time that he was alive we are going to assume that hashirama was alive longer because of his strength. Now lets say tobirama got rinne-rebirthed or something and he uses it., He has all these strong options but minato could easily stop it because he’s to quick as hiruzen did in his fight against orochimaru. Now speaking of hiruzen vs orochimaru, When orochimaru was reanimating all the other hokage hiruzen was afraid of MINATO. And only minato. After he stopped him from reanimating minato, he was like: Ok this is bad but at least I stopped him from reanimating minato. So he was scared of minato and NOT tobirama. Not to mention Minato’s MASTERY of sage mode which gives him like infinite chakra and improves the quality of his jutsus. Now if were talking about revived Minato then he would absolutely body. Because now he has KCM!! So in all, Minato would win because of his better arsenal Hiruzen was afraid of minato and NOT tobirama, And Minato has sage mode. And if were talking revived then he has KCM! So That is why Minato would body easily.

I believe minato doesnt take long to go into sage mode because when he tried to hit madara with a sage jutsu rasengan he was normal then a second later he was in sage mode. Also if tobirama could teleport to one of minato's markings, minato should be able to the same thing and were talking about the dude who literaly ended the third great shinobi war. He wiped out 1000 shinobi single handedly and caused onoki to sign the peace treaty. I dont see tobirama beating minato

tbh I'd say that tobirama interms of raw power, and physical strength is stronger, but minato is a more effective shinobi if that makes sense. like the whole lore of him bieng the yellow flash and just taking down thousands of enemy shinobi super quickly, is just a testament to how effiecent he is as a fighter. flying raijin up to the enemy, knock em out with a kunai gg.

Tobirama was killed by pathetic writing. Actually, Tobirama could have used the Flying Raijin to go teleport himself and his team back to Konoha. Don't tell me he is a war genius and highly analytical and he doesn't think of this? So Stop his death argument.
The arguable points that Minato is stronger is he:
1. Improved the Kage Bunshin and Flying Raijin, basically he developed the extended version of teleporting a Bijuu bomb.
2. Developed a devastating Rasengan jutsu that compliments the Flying Raijin.
3. Has great sealing justu (derived from the Uzumaki).
4. HE KNOWS SAGE JUTSU FROM MOUNT MYOBOKU.
Unique Jutsu Tobirama has include over :
1. Edo Tensei
2. Water based Jutsu
It's kind of disrespecting pitting Minato and Tobirama. It's just comparing Kobe to MJ.
Most of the things Minato does was derived from Tobirama. They were products of their own times.
And remember. In general, the next generation would always surpass the previous generation.
The way I see it, Minato has a more plausible win condition, but that doesn't mean tobirama would definitely lose.
Minato is faster at base, and his flying raijin technique is faster. Add on sage mode amp on top of this and Minato should just be able to comfortably blitz Tobirama with a rasengan for a quick win.
Tobirama would have to win with a devastatingly powerful and impossible to dodge(or teleport), jutsu. A large scale water jutsu does accomplish this, and he is a water jutsu god. It's very easy to imagine Tobirama using Kissame tier water jutsu and beyond. The question is, would he even get a chance to get the attack off?
It boils down to how close we believe the speed of Tobirama to be compared to Minato. If it's close enough that Tobirama can at least avoid Minato long enough to set up a typhoon or whatever, then Minato is done.
After sage mode activation, this is definitely not the case. However, Tobirama is the single best equipped shinobi to fight raijin. If Tobirama can effectively track raijin teleports, he may be able avoid Minato long enough, despite the speed discrepancy.
I personally would say that Minato just wins as soon as sage mode comes out. Just base Minato loses though. If we are going by canon. It's very likely that Minato wouldn't try to use sage mode, since he didn't use it against Toby and Kurama.
