    • @danielleong1865
      @danielleong1865 10 місяців тому

      Theo clearly wasn't afraid of his victim because he knew that he's carrying a gun in his waistband. That gave him a sense of insurance, invincibility, and entitlement. He certainly wasn't afraid when he rode his bike to catch up with the car, argued with the passenger, punched him in the face, and rode off. When the victim caught up with Theo, stepped out of his car, and walked towards Theo, Theo callously pulled out his gun and executed his victim. He had the chance to brandish the gun to end the confrontation, but he just executed his victim without hesitation. He knew it wasn't self-defense: he didn't stay at the scene and wait for the police. Instead, he fled the scene, city, and State, changed his appearance, ditched the gun, and hid from justice for over 6 months; when authorities found him, he lied about his identity.

  • @lars1296

Crimes are being let go people are being let out of prison that should stay in prison, which reoffend in the public eye. These prosecutors are too far left, we need people who are willing to actually go after these defendants and put them in prison for the Crimes that they have already committed.

    I get the feeling the judge was internally conflicted on what the sentence should be. He kept going back and forth between the mitigating and aggravating factors and just seemed to take forever. I do like the fact that he put thought into the sentencing but I think he could've been a bit quicker. Also it's very rare for prosecutors to go for the minimum sentence since usually they go for the maximum so I'm guessing they felt some sort of mercy towards him which is rare.

      @@SouthernNurseAndTheLaw Nurse Karen, your assumptions as to the nature of my comment are actually completely inaccurate, but I expect nothing less from the likes of you. I am, 'sick to death' of people who lose their mind the minute they even suspect someone is alluding to a different opinion than theirs. Since you think the world revolves around you let me clarify a few things. The most important moment for a victim/family is the verdict of conviction, followed closely by the degree of the sentence. Lastly, and to my initial point, those who who gave victim impact statements do so with a modicum of expectation that their pain & words hold some merit. When they lay themselves bare at the podium I would, as a compassionate human, expect even a hint of softening in the judge's tone, not for him to sound like he is fed up listening & just wants to get to the end of it all. Much like a doctor walking in to tell a patient they have 3 months to live and just delivers the news at the bedside and moves on to the next patient. In both cases the professionals in charge are usually very good at there jobs, their pragmatism is a boon to their professions but a lack of audible compassion sometimes hits the ears of the listener with a jolt. Lastly, don't be so arrogant as to assume you hold enough value in my life to think I would want an apology. I don't even know what you believe I expected you to apologize for. At the end of the day I simply hope you read this and try in future not to jump to conclusions (sound familiar??).

      Did you watch the trial ? Are you familiar with this man’s crimes ? That he fled ? That part of his bs defense was that his wife placed a knife back in her dead husbands pocket ? When if he had taken it from his pocket to go after the man that killed him he’d have left blood on his pocket ? Because he had injured his had in the initial conflict ? That the man was unconscious immediately on his face ? That there was no way his small wife could have accomplished that ❓ All that defendant did was lie lie lie ! I watched it ALL
      He tried to pin something on a grieving widow with a LIE ! After EVERYTHING else ! Are you religious at all ? Are you familiar with what the Bible says about wrongs perpetrated against widows ?
      Are you familiar with the lies and shenanigans pulled by the defense to try and get this murderer off ? How long he went on the run ? That he was in illegal possession of that firearm in the first place ?
      You need to explain in detail why this murderer deserves COMPASSION he gives and gave NO NE or take and seat and it better be good !

    The widow wasn't "victim blamed;" she was blamed for hiding evidence when she immediately removed her husband's wallet from his pocket; autopsy later showed husband had THC in his system. Hhmnn. Wonder what was in the wallet? She also obviously lied under oath at trial, claiming husband said "What the heck?" in response to near-collision with Edgecomb. She lacks insight into her husband's contributory role in the incident. Accepts no responsibility for his actions or hers.
